Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Surreality Name: Solstice Nicknames: None so far Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Middle-aged Hatch Date: 21/12/20?? Type: Shadow Task: Watcher Personality: Sol is a friendly enough sentinel to get by on a day to day basis and teach his [slowly waning] class his passion of passions: astronomy, and the study of the canopy beyond. He's quick to excite when he makes a discovery, and has certainly lost many a feather [and some say his mind] on his adventures that creep steadily upwards. However, due to the skepticism largely received by his fellow sentinels, he's become somewhat of a paranoid bird when he feels particularly self-depracating, afraid that someday he may be taken away and forbidden to practice his hobby again...though it may take more than that to stop him. History: Many say that Sol must have been dropped while incubating, as even from day one as a hatchling he had a fascination with the skies. His parents thought this to be a stage that he'd soon tire of, but to their dismay, it only grew larger and larger as time went by, as his stunts became alarmingly more dangerous. Knowing that his family would never understand his 'true calling' [sob], he left the roost to start his research and personal goals, which are divided into three categories: astronomy, in which he jots down celestial information for scouts and rangers to go by incase they're ever lost and occasionally teaches the material when a class is willing; to learn as much as possible about the sky itself; and, more in secrecy, to discover what is so frightening and deadly that keeps them all from venturing further into the unknown. Needless to say, that last one hasn't been accomplished as of yet. When classes become difficult to teach [from lack of students], he spends his time surveying and watching the forest from his territory. Territory: While some say he's completely raven mad, he has realized what dangers he puts himself in during his excursions, and had picked his headquarters, so to speak, to be located just barely below the canopy, as safe as he could be at the highest altitude possible. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate: (Post the link to the cert)
Part II – Companions
Names: Galileo and Galilei [leo and lei for short] Species: Chirops Age: Both are adults Speech Ability: 2 Intelligence: 5 Skill: Leo and Lei are excellent watchers when Sol is venturing a little too far up for his own good. They're the ones that keep an eye out for anything interesting, or dangerous, and alert the Shadow as such.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Rakni Soup Name: Rowan Nicknames: None known Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young adult Hatch Date: 3rd of May Type: Wildtype Task: Watcher Personality: Rowan has a lot of patience and as such he will not easily be angered. If he thinks someone is purposefully trying to provoke him, he will simply stop socialising with said being (Be it Sentinel, companion or other). As a person, he is quite helpful and sympathetic and has a weak spot for hatchlings and fledglings. One of the few things that can actually get him really riled up is when said young ones are bullied by adults. Also, he does not care for berries, much preferring the taste of meat. Nuts are all right, though. History: Rowan was always a natural at the art of flying and was quick to learn when the lessons started. His passion (one of his few, and practically the only known) for flying has manifested itself in his adult times as an above-average flying ability, he is a slightly swifter and more agile flyer then most Sentinels. Rowan was Minder-raised, he does not know who his parents are and he doesn't much care. The clan is his family as far as he is concerned and he will do his utmost to be of assistance to it. Some of his Minders and fledge-friends might remember Rowan as a rather amorous Sentinel, always first in line for a preening and the first one to offer if it was needed, but something changed after he graduated, no one knows what. Rowan also has a rather strong will, but he is anything but delicate with it so he only uses it to carry single, heavy items. Territory: A few trees a short distance west from the Deep Woods, with a small creek of water flowing within earshot and plenty of game around. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate: None... Yet, anyway.
Part II – Companions
Name: Berr Species: Mus Age: Young Speech Ability: 4 Intelligence: 5 Skill:His master is a fumblefeather, so Berr was purchased for the extra set of paws whenever Rowan needs something delicate to be done (Tie a knot on the flap of a pack, for instance). Rowan chose this Mus because it shows levels of patience rivalling his own, and he is rather attached to the small thing, even when it's trying to feed him berries.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Eric Stratton Name: Sylverbeth Nicknames: Sylver, Beth Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: May 13 Type: Deep Woods Task: Watcher Personality: Sylverbeth is a bit of a hard-nosed warrior wannabe. He does his job as a Watcher faithfully and makes sure to follow orders to the absolute extent of his abilities. His strong, perhaps one-sided, faith in the elites has led him to have a strong dislike of any break in traditional community ties. History: Sylverbeth was born and raised absorbing the tales and exploits of the more renown soldiers. He views the Brigadier with the utmost respect and longs to be a member of the elite despite the unlikeliness of this ever coming to pass. Territory: His territory consists of three trees, his particular favorite being the larger more sturdy middle one. Mate: None Companions: None Certificate: None yet!

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Kitkaze Name: Mudflap Nicknames: Mud, Muddy Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: 11/17/200? Type: Wildtype Task: Watcher Personality: Mud is a tomboy, she is loud and boisterous and slightly arrogant. Mud never wished to stay at home and watch the fledglings as a Minder. Even though that is what her mother wished for her. Mud is very competitive with most males her age and younger. She knows the older ones will put her in her place.
Mud's mindset towards most females is usually apathy, although on rare occasions she does seem to enjoy their company. Mud isn't a "motherly" female. Due to her skewed opinion of most other females, thinking of them to be "motherly," she doesn't have many female friends. She holds a few females in very high regard, such as the Elite females and her mother. Mud would never tell that last part to anyone, not even her companion.
History: Mud's mother is a minder and her father is a hunter. As their first egg, Mud's parents taught her a great deal, but they couldn't quell Mud's desire to explore. Her father suggested that Mud follow after him and hunt, her mother had different ideas. All the while neither parent asked Mud what she wanted to do. So upon graduation Mud surprised both of her parents, and choose to take some time to figure out what she really wanted to do. She took up the task of a Watcher.
Her feather dye was a gift from her father. Mud's Chirop, Dune, was a gift from her mother when she became an adult. Dune speaks well enough to be understood, but in the third person.
Territory: East of the Deep Woods Mate: None Companions: One Chirop, Dune
Part II – Companions
Name: Dune Species: Chirop Age: Young Adult Speech Ability: 4 Intelligence: 3 Skill: Dune is like a little answering machine, he can remember and repeat something later on. It's usually only a sentence or two, but it gets the point across. Dune is Mud's most trusted friend.

Part I - The Sentinel
Player: Adona Benedicta Name: Morroghane Nicknames: Morry. Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young adult. Hatch Date: August 19th. Type: Shadow Task: Watcher Personality: Morroghane, a young adult who hasn't chosen her permanent Task, is a curious but scatterbrained Sentinel. Being a Watcher is something that was designated for her by her parents, in a vain attempt to get her to pay more attention to her surroundings. Thinking if it was her task, she'd grow to love it, her parents pressed being a Watcher onto her. So, after she graduated and became part of the Clan, Morroghane went with it. However, it hasn't worked out quite that well. She tends to wander in and out of conversations, filling in blurbs of what she doesn't hear of the conversation with her own musings. Thought by many to be a weird sort of Sentinel, it's a shock to some that she can hold her attention on something of serious matters.
Of course, she has to deem the matter serious herself before she devotes her attention to her. Her interests most commonly determine whether or not she's going to pay attention to the topic at hand. I mean, come on. When you're talking about the boring matter of mating when there's a perfectly good mouse just begging to be gobbled up, would you pay much attention? No. I didn't think so. Another trait of hers is her eye for shiny things. It's not at all uncommon for Morroghane to pop up, drop off something shiny for a Gatherer, or an Artisan, and then go back to watching for trouble. She isn't a Watcher out of any sense of duty, but more out of nothing better to do. That said, she doesn't dislike her job, but she wishes she had some sort of direction on what she wants to do for the rest of her life.
Being a Watcher is a fine job, and anyone who believes that's their born duty, more power to them, but there are so much more interesting Tasks and they all seem to be beckoning to her. Until she can choose one that she knows she can do well at, though, she'll be watching for any trouble. Or shiny objects to bring excitement. It's a boring life, but it's hers for now. History: A lot of her early history is speculation and only that. Morroghane doesn't see it necessary to bore people with her simple upbringing. She was made, she was hatched by Minders, she grew up, learned to fly, became a young adult. That's that. Those who knew her as a child do point out that it isn't as simple as she tells, but for all intents and purposes, Morroghane says it is. That's her story, and she's sticking to it. Suffice to say, there is reason behind her refusal to tell her history. It's a lot of pain for Morroghane, who doesn't like to worry herself with her parents and doesn't like worrying them with herself. She's a grown Sentinel now, and she's old enough to take care of herself. Even if she's not doing quite the bang-up job as she should be. Territory: Morroghane doesn't have any territory of her own. She instead opts to move from place to place, using her task as a Watcher as an excuse to not have to settle down. One day, she would like to maybe find a tree of her own to claim, but Morroghane just isn't ready to settle down yet, even in a place of her own. She's "too young." Mate: No mate. Companions: No companions. Certificate: None yet.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Chikagi Name: Jackwood Nicknames: Jack Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young, matured Sentinel Hatch Date: November 6th Type: Shadow Task: Watcher Personality: Charming, Jack seems to be quite the sweet-talker, his smooth mannerisms proving useful in getting out of sticky situations. However, he has a terrible tendency to steal items that to not belong to him on a whim, causing quite some trouble. When he's not impulsively thieving, Jack is very sociable and charismatic, sometimes taking the role of a joker. History: Jack's kleptomania only increased as he got older, but with this increase has come greater restraint. Of course, there are certain occasions were he simply can't control himself. Having learned from experience that acting rashly will not get him his coveted prize, Jack has an air of calculating patience and will wait until the first opportunity arises before he makes his move. On the off-chance he's discovered, he has the very useful ability to conjure a wonderful cover, his stories usually involving a great amount of flattery. Sly and sneaky, happy and talkative, Jack leads somewhat of a double-life.
His targets are entirely random and a result of impulsive and gripping disillusionment for an item. Never malevolent, he eventually regains his morals and guiltily returns the objects of his thievery just as secretly as he took them, generally with a small mouse or two as a token of his anonymous apologies. Territory: As a Shadow, Jack enjoys the cover of trees to a fault, his black feathers blending him with the scenery. He lives in a thick wooded area that allows very little light in, just north of the river under the Deep Woods, and south of the Clearing. Mate: None, he's kind of a flirt and a ladies man. Companions: Visi, his Chirop
Part II – Companions
Name: Visi Species: Chirop Age:Young Speech Ability: 3 Intelligence: 3 Skill: Despite Jack having a reasonable control over his impulses, his defenses are not flawless. Visi keeps a vigilant lookout while Jack is either in the middle of a heist or returning already stolen loot. Jack uses him to sense if anyone is around before he might act and to see things even he can't, also raising an alarm if someone is coming.

Player: Quiet_Wolf Name: Valora Nicknames: Val (only her friends can call her this) Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young adult Hatch Date: Sometime in November. Type: Shadow Task: Watcher Personality: Valora is..... quiet. She just has very little to say. She is ambitious (she wants to be an Elite) and secretly idealistic (she believes that no creature is inherently evil). Spiritual truth is something she looks for, but she isn't obsessed with it. Her best friend is Zeke, and she confides in him (it helps that he can't speak for beans). She is physically strong and has a keen mind, but is a little naive. Basically she's quiet because she's thinking, not because she's emo. History: Valora never knew her parents. Her egg was surrendered to a minder almost immediately after it was laid. Despite being raised with dozens of 'sibilings', Val was uninterested in socializing, even for a Sentinel. When asked a question, she would answer, however that's about as much conversation as she offered. Her Minder, terrified that she may become stunted, got her Zeke as a last ditch effort to coax her out of her shell. It worked, in a way. Valora and Zeke became inseperable; she would confide in her companion and he amused her with painted bones, rocks and colorful feathers he would hoard away. They forged a bond Valora had never made with another Sentinel. One of the other Minders felt this was unhealthy. He explained to her that companions were not ment to be a substitute for Sentinel friends. Valora shrugged it off; Zeke was more of a friend than any Sentinel had offered to be, if another of her kind proved to be as loyal and genuinly interested in her, she would befriend them as well. The Minder sighed and shook his head. He decided Zeke would have to go. Later that evening, Zeke cried out as the Minder peirced his wing with his talons. As his captor was about to sail off with him, Valora let out a scream. Not the scream of a mourning adolesent, nor the scream of a horrified companion-lover; it was a war cry. Valora jumped the Minder, Willing his talons open so forcefully they cracked. She flew into Zeke, allowing the Chirop to cling to her chest feathers. The tumbling adult Sentinel regained his balance and perched on a nearby branch to catch his breath; Valora did not pursue him. While Valora seemed to have not been terribly affected by that night (except for a profound distrust for the aforementioned Minder), Zeke was. His wing healed, but he lost most of his ability to speak. And so Zeke lost his worth as a messanger; and though Valora's combative skills were proven, her Minders are not sure what to do with her. Territory: Sizable, has a huge oaktree in the center. Mate: None Companions: Yes
Part II – Companions
Name: Zeke Species: Chirop Age: Young Speech Ability: 1 Intelligence: 5 Skill: He collects bones and paints them. With his nose. Yeah. Basically, he's just there because Valora likes him.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: SiyannaTwilight Name: Silverbell Nicknames: Bell Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: 1/2 Type: Mist Task: Watcher Personality: Silverbell is a very lighthearted bard to be, and shares her love of the world in her song. She'll make up little melodies on a whim, almost about anything and everything. She hasn't found the opportunity to take the task she wants dearly yet as she is still somewhat younger, and her mind still somewhat innocent, or so she claims. She is also keen on playing hard to get, and while she may find a Sentinel she fancies, she will wait for him to make the first move, with gentle nudges in his direction of course. She does have quite the fondness for the men. History: Both of Bell's parents are bards, and she grew into a home of song and music. Her bells were a graduation present to her of sorts, and she takes great care of them. When she was young she would attend events with her parents, sometimes entitled to do a back up verse or a bell accompaniment, but most of the time she'd just watch them, proud. Territory: She has a few trees to herself, close to the action of the deep woods, and just short an hours flight to the river. When she practices she works hard to do it when she knows nobody nearby is asleep, if they are out even better. Mate: None Companions: None

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Bombazine Name: Shell Nicknames: --- Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: Type: Ghost Task: Watcher Personality: Throughout his life, Shell has been notably more reserved than most others around him. Particularly since reaching adulthood, he has gently removed himself from many friendships and affiliations. All this is not due to any shyness or insecurity on his part, however – it’s just that as more and more time goes by, he finds himself less and less impressed with the way other Sentinels carry themselves. He doesn’t like to be able to see someone’s problems, aspirations and insecurities when he talks to them. It wells up in him a sense of pity, and that can’t be right. So, his best method in trying to avoid situations like this is to overemphasize his grace, and his aloofness. He makes an earnest effort at projecting an image of dignity, swaddled in a palpable sense of self-absorption, which effectively wards off literally every Sentinel he would find distasteful, as well as some he’d probably get along with. But even with all that, it’s not to say Shell is incapable of maintaining some sort of friendship. If you happen to make it through all his very rigorous standards, his brand of friendship is a remarkably caring and grateful one. For Shell, family is exceedingly important, and there is no differentiation between family and friend. History: Shell was raised alongside his brother by their parents, a Scout and a Gatherer. In keeping with Shell’s demeanor, both parents were very placid, very reserved, and it’s from them that Shell learned when to watch and absorb rather than speak or act. In his opinion, this early training is what boosted him ahead of nearly everybody else in terms of knowing everyone’s problems and keeping his own to himself. He is still very much attached to his family, although since he and his brother’s graduation, his mother has died and his brother has moved further south. He and his father, the Gatherer, sometimes work together; Shell’s dad is one of only a few Sentinels he is willing to air his problems and opinions in front of. Territory: A modest little spread of cold forest, with a modest output of gatherable foods. He will frequently use his father’s nearby territory if his own supplies are getting meager. Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Xirapha Name: Southwing Nicknames: South, his "cute and slightly odd nickname"! Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young adult Hatch Date: Late January Type: Shadow Task: Watcher Personality: South is quiet and gentle, ever polite, and introverted - sometimes to the point of being shy, though as long as he is given time he can become comfortable with Sentinels who are not particularly aggressive or demanding.
He is taken to flights of fancy and whimsical ideas, most of which are considered harmless, but he also harbours a thirst for knowledge that extends to the Open and the Above. Perhaps it was his early detachment from both parents and Minders, or perhaps it is his surprising (and mostly undetected) stubbornness, but the horror stories of deaths from the Open and Above never truly bothered him in the way that they did other Sentinels. He believes firmly that fear arises because something is not understood, and so he seeks understanding. It is also for this reason that he is not typist in the least. He knows that he's not going to get information about the Open from others, so at some point in the future, probably as a Scout, he will take it upon himself to explore.
For most of his fledglinghood, he convinced himself that he was content with being somewhat detached from others, although from time to time he would experience a sudden (and to him, incomprehensible) longing for companionship, which he would (and still does) satisfy by talking to Northie, his Chirop. Sadly, North isn't really particularly intelligent and is hardly an adequate substitute for a friend. There is something distinctly missing - whether it is guidance or friendship, he is unsure and has not, until this point, cared to think about. After all, there are matters of greater importance, such as what the Above is and where the Open goes.
He has long valued his independence and found confidence in it. That said, he is beginning to realise that he is, in fact, lonely, but whether he will succeed after all this time in overcoming his shyness and making very good friends - or even mating - is something he worries about.
Essentially, he's still overall an introverted and sometimes shy Sentinel, but he is beginning to grow out of it. He's still a little socially awkward.
History: South was raised by Minders, though he often seemed to escape their notice. His parents were mostly uninterested in him, and though for a time he often wondered about them, he was never altogether bothered by being without them. He was a daydreamer with no particular need or desire for anyone's attention, content to keep to himself and imagine and wonder. Some of his teachers have suggested (but only to each other) that a lack of guidance lead to some of the strange and dangerous ideas he has about the Open and the Above, and they often tried to direct his curiosity toward other, safer notions.
He developed a keen aptitude for listening, which benefits him greatly when he's Watching. What he heard often troubled him and brought up all sorts of questions in what was becoming a very open and inquisitive mind. For a time, he was much more vocal than he is now, and asked many questions. However, as a result of the warnings from many of his teachers, he learned to keep quiet. He graduated, and the advice of everyone was to take a while as a Watcher so that he could learn what he was best at, as many Sentinels felt that he was somewhat behind the others of his class in maturity and needed a little more time to figure things out.
Territory: He has no real and gripping attachment to his own territory and would, if given the opportunity, be more of a drifter - or, as he sees it, an explorer. He calls home the environs of a particular oak tree with very gnarled bark.
Mate: n/a Companions: Yes. Certificate: n/a
Part II – Companions
Name: North/Northie around those who might be offended by a Chirop named after a Warden. South thinks being offended by that is a little silly. Species: Chirop Age: Young Speech Ability: 4 Intelligence: 2 Skill: Messenger (good at imitating but not so much understanding) and fast flyer.

Part I - The Sentinel
Player: Silencer Wolf Name: Dawyck Nicknames: none Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult Hatch Date: August 14 Type: Wildtype Task: Watcher Personality: Dawyck is happiest when working for others, be it running personal favours, passing messages, keeping an eye on wayward fledglings, being a personal bodyguard to paranoid sentinels, or any of those odd and under-appreciated jobs no one else wanted to do. Humble and complaisant, Dawyck lives to please.
Dawyck takes his job as a Watcher seriously and is in fact fully-trained to be ready for battle. He is frightening when in combat, a sharp contrast to his usual self. This is the reason he still hasn't been ousted from his territory, situated to be close to where there are many activities, in case he is ever needed to help out.
History: From a young age Dawyck has always been eager to be helpful in whatever situation he was in. He was raised in a loving family, but spent much time with Minders as well; part of his parent's plans to incorporate a sense of attachment to the Clan as a whole. To their delight Dawyck was more that pleased with the arrangement.
Some Minders may remember him as the eager fledgling who was always ready to help with everything from minding eggs and hatchlings to helping to clean out the nest-site.
Territory: A pair of trees in Deep Woods, between the Swift Cold River and the Clearing. Mate: none Companions: none Certificate: n/a
