Want a custom Sentinel? Not sure if/when we're going to open slots, or how many we'll open? Just want to share your ideas with the entire world? Then post here! You have nothing to lose by posting your custom idea(s) here, and you could have everything to gain ('cause if we decide to randomly gift dedicated players with a Sentinel it'd be handy to have a custom form to look at, natch) so there's no reason not to get posting. You can even ask for input and refine your own idea over time! Most of the bitterness is just guilt, guilt and grief over losing his young brother the same time he lost his leg. Despite his incapability, Blank Willow does the best he can and makes his life as normal as possible. He can't walk (hop) for long, but it doesn't stop him from doing what he has to do. He's always been kind of stern as well, not enjoying roughhousing or over the top games in fledging fun. He may be seen as a hard-a**, but it's only for other's safety. History: It's not common knowledge, but the story of Willow is rooted in the trees themselves. It was when he was young, hopping along the branches with his brother that his leg got stuck in the clutching grasp of two branches. Hanging from his terrible predicament, Willow cried out for his sibling. His brother, racing over to help, attempted to pull his brother free, but he pulled so hard that he ended up loosing his grip, and he fell to the forest earth below. Unfortunately, they were both too young to fly. It was only until two days later that a Scout heard the fading cries of young Willow and called for a Medic who came to the scene moments later. Sadly, the only way they could save the young one was to take his leg. After all the struggling and hanging and flapping, the leg had gotten more wedged and it couldn't be saved. Even after that day of infamy, Blank continued to live as best as he could. He became a medic, honoring the medic who salvaged his life, but he was never able to heal the wound in his heart: the loss of his brother. Part II – Companions Name: Thistle Species: Chirop Age: Adult Speech Ability: 3 Intelligence: 5 Skill: Unlike his larger companion, Thistle still retains both of his legs and he has a good nose for the smells of the forest. This makes him the perfect servant for acquiring herbs and other medical supplies that Blank uses in his profession. He's always more than ready to fly at Blank's word and retrieve what he needs. Thistle also doesn't take any crap from Blank's stern attitude, so he's also sort of the one that puts Blank back in his place.

He has feather dyed his lower wing feathers and his feet, however. His feet are black and red zig zags with complimenting spots. His lower wing feathers are splattered green with creepy red spots running over. On each wing one of the dots seems to look like a red eye. *shiver* (See pic for a better description of this effect) Faust has a long vagly x-shaped scar over his chest. Keeping Waral is a dangerous profession. Eyes: Green with a red circular band around his pupil. A black waral with dark green splatter markings and red dots running down his back in a haphazard design. He has red eyes. Part I – The Sentinel
Player: The Silver Falcon Name: Faust Nicknames: None Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult Hatch Date: 12/31/0? Type: Aberrant Task: Keeper Personality: Faust is... reptilian. He seems to prolong his Esses and speak with an odd hissing accent when his is found away from his territory. He is a perfect gentleman, however, always careful to be polite. He bows regaly to ladies and tips his heads to other males. He watches people, though. With the Sentinal equivalent of not blinking, and for longer than normal amounts of time. History: No one seems to remember Faust as a youngster. He was an average owl for the most part as a fledgling, only fully expressing his odd side as an adult, and so no one recognises the shy young chick from their youth as this sinister keeper. Territory: South of the deep woods, but not quite as far away as some would like. Faust and his Waral live in a parched patch of forest with lots of sunlight and only a small creek-let nearby, all the better for his heat-seeking lizards. Since Waral are so long lived Faust doesn't have quite as many charges as most keepers, so his territory is smaller than usual for one of his profession. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate:
Part II – Companions
Name: Blank Species: Waral Age: Adult Speech Ability: 2 Intelligence: 5 Skill: Waral is cleverer than other Waral. He's not smarter, there are many Waral with more traditional smarts than him, but he knows how to gain the advantage in a fight better and knows how to survive better than most companions he's encountered. A clever thug amoung companions, he uses his slightly larger-than-average size to his distinct advantage and keeps Faust's few Waral under control, never resorting to thinking when he could use brute force. Faust put on hold. I have a better idea. heart Quote: Owner: The Silver Falcon Name: Fleetfoot Gender: Male Age: Adult Hatch Date: 02/28/0? Profession: Watcher Base Color Type: Aberrant Lineart: Alternate Detailed Marking Description: Mostly grey. Black mask over eyes. Black feet. Dark grey wingbars. Feather dye designs that look like the shadows of branches coming up from his feet. Base colors for body= Light shadow-type Sentinal. Eyes: Gold Beak: gold Talons: gold Accessories: A black bag with silver beads on the drawstrings. Companion: Green and brown mus; cameoflauge stlye. References: FleetNote: Watcher is his official profession, but Fleet is a theif, pure and simple. He loves playing tricks and swiping things when others aren't looking, but steers clear of Elites and others who could bring him in to the Brigadier at all costs.

Some hunters will spin you fish tales, telling you over and over about the largest thing they ever caught. Some hunters will tell you of how they single-talonedly knocked out an infestation of chipmunks, feeding the community for months. Not so with Kehara. She flat-out won't talk to you, instead dropping a few pounds of mouse heads at your feet, then flying away before you can say anything. She's quiet, calculating, and very analytical with everything, from the precise arrangement of twigs in her nest to the exact angle she needs to take to strike her prey quickly and efficiently, with the greatest results. She won't ever brag about her catch rate, but it's high. Very high. She's antisocial by choice, mostly because other Sentinels annoy Koru, and that's bad. However, if she runs into a ranger or another hunter, and they happen to mention Warals, good luck getting away from her. Warals are her obsession, and her one true love. If she could have two, she would, but Koru's a talonful on his own. She had at one point considered Keeping them, but that would require the eventual surrender of the lizards, as well as dealing with other Sentinels, and less flying about. So, she Hunts. History: Kehara was a quiet fledgling, very polite to adults, but with few friends among her peers. Rumored to be violent and temperamental towards smaller, tasty-looking companions, she was something of an outcast. In reality, she saw no reason not to hunt them, as she was skilled at it and they were tasty. Territory: Kehara and Koru live in a very tall pine tree out on the edge of Noctua, near the mountains Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate: (Post the link to the cert) Part II - Companions Name: Koru Species: Waral Age: Adult Speech Ability: 1 Intelligence: 4 Skill: Koru knows one word and one word only: Prey. A ruthless hunter, he's a perfect tracker. That long, flickering tongue isn't just funny-looking: It's a deadly weapon, bringing the molecules doused with a frightened rodent's pheromones right up to where he needs them. A nod from him coupled with her intuition and Kehara knows exactly where that mouse is.

Annnnd the other stuff: Player: Pearlyblue Name: Gem Nicknames: Gemmy, Auntie Gemmy (usually only by hatchlings... to her face, at least) Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: In the prime of her life, thankyouverymuch. Hatch Date: 16/9 Type: Shadow Task: Hunter Personality: Gem usually gives the impression of being a very headstrong and independent lady, who knows exactly what she wants and how she wants it, and won't take any crap from anyone. And that is actually quite a correct assessment of her personality. Not that she can't defer to those who are of higher rank than her (elites, the Brigadier, older and more knowledgeable hunters...) quite painlessly, but if she gets it into her head that she is just being bullied, or that the person speaking to her has no idea what he or she is talking about, she will ignore them, no matter who they think they are. Gem does, however, have a very big and warm heart tucked away inside her chest, and it beats for every hatchling and fledgling in Noctua. Gem always delivers the greatest share of her catch to the Minders' enclave, and always "accidentally" gets sidetracked while there, ending up in the midst of a group of fluffballs, telling exciting stories about her life as a hunter - and obviously enjoying it every bit as much as the young ones. History: Raised in the Minders' enclave, Gem very early on showed signs of being unusually headstrong and determined, sometimes getting into trouble because of her unwillingness to back down. For a while, she was quite the little bully, always poking the others and making them do what she wanted them to - even fighting with those who tried to stand up to her. While some Minders wanted to teach the little upstart a thing or two about abusing others, one old Shadow male stepped up and took Gem under his own firm but gentle wing. This wise old bird somehow managed to turn the troublesome youth completely around, to the great surprise of all who knew her, and she began using her strong and willful nature to keep the peace on the playground instead (albeit sometimes still rather forcefully. She calmed down quite a bit when she grew up, though, and is a lot less likely to get into a fight today). With her natural leadership abilities, Gem could easily have been a Minder or a Teacher, but for some reason known only to herself, she happily turned to the task of hunting. Maybe she just likes the solitude? Territory: Gem claims a piece of the not-so-cold woods her own, right where the Swift Open River meets the Lake, where she catches a lot of the fish that she supplies, but she is known to travel quite far when she goes on her hunting trips. When she is "home", however, she usually nests in a certain old apple tree. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate: None (obviously) Part II – Companions Name: Diver (Gem likes to keep things simple) Species: Alcyon Age: Adult Speech Ability: 2 Intelligence: 3 Skill: Fishing, obviously. Some whisper that Gem might be training him to fight as well, but why would she do that? Besides, right now she's got her talons quite full trying to teach him not to eat all the fish he catches.
