in some of these topics,a few people have said that some of the most recent books weren't as good as the first few?
i was just wondering which book you actually liked best
i've said this many times,but personally,my favourite was the philosopher's stone,as i think that no matter how hard you try,you just can't beat the original
none of the books after the philosopher's stone could make me feel the magic and amazement i felt when i read the first book
i'm sure others will have different opinions,so let's hear 'em!!

Kinda different for me... I like the order of the phoenix best because I kinda felt the emotional blows (whatever that means xp )... I actually had a better appreciation for people around me and stuff... I cried when Sirius died... yeah, I cry while reading books if things get too emotional but never on movies.

it's like,you can feel the pain of the people that are dying,and of the people that love them??
that's kinda silly as they're just characters in a book,but jkr's done well to get that much emotion out of people reading her books
wish i could write like that,lol

I admire authors like her... I wish I could write as well as them (I do have my own works but none of them even reaches the 1/16 excellence of her works...) I like other authors like Lois Lowry and Carol Goodman but JKR is better for me... that gets me thinking... I think I should stick to photography since I'm better at that...

I would have to say that my favorite book would have to be The Order of the Pheonix because it deals with the threstals. That is actually why I love the book honestly I just have a thing for magical creatures really.

it just amazes me how JKR writes..
i'd love to know where she gets her inspiration from
i watched a programme about her not long ago and the one thing i do remember is she said something like she was on a train going somewhere,and by the time she'd reached her destination she'd thought up all the characters and their personalities,and that's how she wrote her first book!!
i'd never be able to just come up with it,just like that..

My favorite bokk would have to be the Half-Blood Prince. I'm not sure why though, I cried for like 4 days when dumbledore died. LOL. I guess it was just because of how much I like books that are really exciting and you just can't stop reading them 'cause you can't find a spot where you're not wondering "What's going to happen next?". You know what I mean. And the ending!! I was like "NOOOOO!!! I can't wait another two years to figure out what happens!! I have to know now!! crying "

each book amazed me in a different way

My favorite is Prisoner of Azkaban, for 2 reasons: Remus Lupin and Sirius Black. LOL.

Favorite: Order of the Phoenix
In my opinion the books did downgrade (a lot)
The first 5 books I noticed howthe series was getting better and better. As Harry got older Rowling's style matured.
Then there was this long wait for the sixth book and all that fanfic came out.
Kinda ruined the book for me. The final two books of the series weren't as good as I expected them to be.

Favorite: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
I really liked how Harry got so caught up with the Half-Blood Prince's notebook. I really like the spell's J.K. Rowling made up and I really liked the flash-backs that were Harry's and Snape's. I think it was cool how Snape was really portrayed as the good guy in this book. Even though he killed Dumbledore, but that was on Dumbledore's orders.

I'd have to say Prisoner of Azkaban because well, my favorite character is Sirius Black. ^_^ In Order of the Phoenix where he died (murdered by Bellatrix Lestrange) I was just TERRIIFIED. I was so sad, I had to put the book down and stop reading for a few minutes.
