So, I was at school today, and I got into a conversation with a friend of the "goth girl" in my grade (a total poser of course). So, we were talking, and I don't exactly remember how, but we got into the topic of emo kids. I mentioned how they are mostly just a cheap stereotype, and they have been stereotyped so much that true emo has lost its meaning. She bet that her friend, the "goth kid" knew what it meant. I was so absolutely certain that I knew the definition, and she'd get it wrong, that I bet my life on it, giving her actual permission to kill me if I she got the definition right (the definition I had was the one in this guild's intro. You guys just may have saved my a** xD). When I asked for her version of the definition, I expected her to say the cheap stereotype, but she said something even stupider than that. As you know, the right answer is "emo is a type of music, and it stands for emotive hardcore, and its followers are also given that name." But, she said (here comes the super "lolz" part) "emo is a style that kids made up to scare their parents; they are depressed and it is a state of mind. It doesn't stand for anything." What do you guys think of that? It was just so stupid and totally wrong that I had to post it to see how you guys would react. xD

I'm on the saaaame boat as you, I to thought she would say "It's when kids think they're so depressed, and the only ones who have an idea what pain is," just goes to show never judge, blah, blah, blah, ya'll get it, but if you meet up with her tell-ah "Hey, some 'Thing' named Tokeyo Beat told me, to tell you, Kudos."

Kudos for what? She got it way wrong, I got it right, I win the bet. Yay. Pwned. Fragged. MDK'd. And all those other terms used to describe an awesome victory......

@xXLookxXThar: How did she do better? I think that even the stereotype meaning would have been more accurate than the definition she gave! @[Hollow Point]: A tasty victory, indeed. My pwnage has saved my life. xD And, I actually did bet my life there.....

I believe he means better as in "at least she didn't say 'emo means emotional, it's a state of mind, and you have to dress a certain way and be extra sensitive'"

[Hollow Point] I believe he means better as in "at least she didn't say 'emo means emotional, it's a state of mind, and you have to dress a certain way and be extra sensitive'" Well, in the part I forgot to include, she said they dress up a certain way. In the statement I listed, she said they're depressed and it's a state of mind. However, she didn't mention anything about music......

BassFu Oh wow someone got it's definition wrong, that's hilarious! Yeah. You should have seen how many threads like this there were when I first joined. I think it's funny that you made that comment, though, because are you not the one that puts every one of us down every time our definitions aren't right on the dot?
