a group of 4 did my perogative by(who ever its by)with three foot and dance
and the last group of four did the animal song by salvage garden(i think) with 3 foot and scarves

Our team tries to do songs that haven't been done in like forever. Freshman year it was "Hazy shades of winter"' Sophomore year it was "If looks could kill" and this year is "Holding out for a hero" go for difficultly points and technical points and do a fast hard song, something with a strong beat. =3

HI!! Well, I am captain of the colorguard and winterguard at my school, and I can always be of help if you need anything. the upperclassmen doing guard right now performed a latin song and used riffles and sabres in the show. It was a group of four and mainly what they did was alot of parallel tossing and 45 degree tossing as well. All four of them did splits and somehow one of them did a carwheel without letting go of the flag , which I found pretty amazing. I'll be here and well you can ask me if you have any questions. I remember when I tried out and I made it as a co-captain my junior year, and I tried out again the following year and here I am as captain my senior year. I love doing guard. So, if you need anything don't worry. I am here and I'll be glad to help! biggrin smile

I don't know any old songs, but my guard Capitan thinks the Pretender would be good because of the way the tempo changes.

To find a good song, listen to stuff you like.
Then, imagine flag/rifle work whenever the song creschendoes or you hear a part that has emotion in it.
After, figure out a tempo. If that's troublesome, ask someone in band or a director.

Take all your music...put it on shuffle, and listen to them with your eyes closed. Whichever one you can think of most great ideas for, use it =]

for a song, listen to the radio and when a song comes on that u like imagine yourself doing a routine to it. a couple good tosses will do the trick if u want to impress. i hope u get captain and best of luck to u!!!
