I hate the first and third chairs. They're creepy...the first chair shouldn't even BE first chair. His sound is horrible (so says everybody in the band, and possibly the band director, who likes to keep PC when it comes to pplz playing), and he smears every single note (i'm in the trombone section). I'm second, and normal. The third chair fights with the first chair, has bad breath, and always plays with his brace wax (uuugghh, it's the SICKEST thing on earth). He also sprays it instead of saying it, so I have to cover my mouthpiece to avoid tasting "Travis Water". Basically, Wind Ensemble is living hell for me this year (as it was last year when i was third and they were second and fourth). Luckily, they're eigth graders and the year is half over. with any luck, i can beat up the first chair to show him that his precious "mommy" can't save him from everything twisted
post your rant about how dysfunctional the other band members in your band are xd

Actually, I love the people next to me. I play bassoon, and I'm the only one in the band. Next to me on my right is the 5th clarinet, aka my best friend. On my left is 1st tenor sax. He is also my buddy, and is halarious.
That really sucks, for you. -shivers- I have bad mental images of trombones with brace wax.. x_X

For some odd reason, I'm first chair and I sit next to the 3rd chair alto sax. She's annoying and I mostly ignore her unless she has questions about a fingering or something. Nobody seems to really care that she sits there, since she's always been there and most people are used to it. That's changing though. Everyone hates the 4th chair, we always stop because of her.
And then to the other side of me is one of my best friends that plays tenor sax, and right behind me I have two pretty good friends from the trumpet section so it's really not that bad.

I highly dislike the second chair flute because she completely turned her back on me in my time of need, but the clarinet next to me is totally awesome. Totally love him.

Hmm... We actually don't have chairs in our band. (Well... o'course we sit in chairs you literal kopoop... but we don't have 1st chair, 2nd chair etc etc etc)
I love the people I'm next to. I'm only Trombone in teh 8th grade band but I sit next to a Sax and an Alto sax... (Atleast I think it's alto 0.0)
They're both pretty cool... Cept the alto(or whatever it is) saxist... who happens to think she is the best singer on the planet (Keep dreamin, honey)...
Though our Tuba thinks she can play tuba when she should have just stuck to le' clarinet... *cough*Can'tplaytubaworthcrap*cough**cough*

Me and my friends, we're all flutists, purposely drive our band teacher INSANE. We pass notes, ask stupid/irrelivent questiond, talk, giggle, you name it. I once dared my friend to go whack him on the head and she did.
EDIT: I forgot. We all challenge each other once a week, always the same song.

The clarinetist next to me is really cool, it's the saxophonist who's annoying. He's always cracking these really lame jokes (i.e. Two Irish guys walk out of a bar), and talking while our band director's trying to tell us something. Sometimes I just want to punch him.

Looks right at idiot second trombone.... Looks left at idiot first trumpet... stare
Yes... I must say I am literally surrounded by idiots. The first trumpet warms-up exclusively on screeching (and cracking) high notes. Second trombone couldn't play 4 eighth notes in a row without hurting himself. Sighs
Save me.... emo

teiakuma valentine the fat poop bari sax player beside me can't go above a D or below a G and the bass beside me is always out of tune emo Same predicament: The first chair @$$face is always flat (not being in the fact that he has a good embouchure; his tuning slide is all the way out), and the third chair is always correcting me....even though the only mistakes that i make a one-timer things (i.e. wrong position ONCE, wrong key, or not hitting the partial).

One person sits next to me, and she's like my best friend, even if her tone is semi-annoying and harsh and even if she deserves to sit in the second row...as long as she doesn't find this post here on gaia, i'm safe.
Oi yesh, I'm 1st chair in my band even if our band is like 10x worse than last year since the freshman all left. (yes, I'm in jr. high band, i'm in 8th grade, it sucks, and my other flute buddy was all like, "Why are you even in this band? You don't need help on your solo or nothing, why don't you just leave us and play at the high school?" I considered this for a moment..."
