No offense Peacexbass, but why did you post in a thread asking for six-string advice just to say play a 4 or 5.
Six string is just one extra string than a 5, and gives you a wider range. Yes you do go up in the guitar range, but not all the way up there. The sis string yes is a beast to master, but you will open the three-octave scale, plus you can play more melodic with the higher range.
It will take you time to learn one yes, but it is a completely different instrument than the 4 and 5 string bass.
