I wonder if we can approach the developers on gaia and have us all donate on some special items to be sold to us ONLY; a kinda "guild distinguishing item". We can ask them to make white boxers and white short undershirts and ask them to be titled "LDS Undergarments". It would be neat to have items that are unique to this guild only.
I know gaia needs money to continue to run, and it would be cool if we could help support it while also getting some really cool items. No markings, of course.

I think CTR rings or "Hold to the Rod" necklaces would be a safer thing to do.

Even if it was a cool idea (and I think its a little lame), I seriously doubt the developers would agree unless you donated an enormous sum. I think they have some serious stupidity issues as it is, and they certainly don't like people offering suggestions to improve the site (what they don't delete they ignore.)

I agree with the clothes being a bit much. I don't think they'd go for CTR rings though. maybe just an iron rod and it'd be a general so other people could have it too. A decription for it could be "the word of god" but there aren't that many people who read that anyway. People could have poses using it like a weapon. Just a thought.

What if they were undergarments, but invisible on our avatars, so you can wear it on anything? Its just the concept of it.

Not ripping on your idea, but to give my honest opinion I would say that probably goes over the line of inappropriate. In real life, we COVER our garments... we don't flash them like badges. They are sacred and playing around like that is just... not cool. If we had guild t-shirts or something, fun... cute. Making light of covenants, Mmmm... I think Our Father would NOT be pleased with that.

It would just be something to distinguish the LDS on the board.

Honestly...items for the guild specifically is just not that cool an idea...and it is not realistic to assume that the developers of gaia would agree to this...even if they were not lame.

The point is for us to own items that are specific to the guild. Being that we are all LDS (or conform to the ideals of the LDS church), then to have such an item, even if it were invisible, would be an outward sign of our affiliation. Secondly, for the developers, if we throw some money at them, then maybe they would find it beneficial to do as such for us. Thanks for thinking my idea is lame, though. I appreciate the constructive criticism.

MsRoseLovingJo I think CTR rings or "Hold to the Rod" necklaces would be a safer thing to do. I agree with this. We have established that it would be inappropriate to have "Gaian Garments" - but the idea of making an item specific to the guild could still be functional. You would need to wait about three years for them to finally get around to it though... gonk

I think we all have a tendency to talk before we think (or type before) and would not dream of giving offense. I hope you realize that those of us that posted were (probably) all excited with the idea - just putting our "two cents" in and certainly didn't mean to be hurtful. redface What if we were to think on these ideas and enter them in the next contest to design an item - even if we can't link them directly to the guild?
