 The day was warm and enjoyable. Very relaxing for Tawny as he stretched out on the dirt next to a rather big rock. He just now realized about the rocks sizes. It wasn't like he always had to pay attention to his surroundings. He stared at the rock before realizing there was no trees close by. Probably why he had so much sun on him. Which he didn't mind at all. Other's might.
His orange fur seemed to be very bright in the afternoon sun. Though, he had black and white also on him. He was sure there were other's brighter then him. He laughed at thinking about it. It'd be nice meeting someone brighter then him. Though, he liked meeting anything. He scanned the area to see a few bushes here and there. The only thing that seemed to stick out besides himself, was the huge rock behind him.

 It was a nice day. All nice and warm, a small breeze every now and then, and really it was just the perfect day for relaxation, which is exactly what Artemis was doing right now. Sea green eyes roamed over the terrain, taking note of the few bushes and sparse trees, and how bright it was. Her dark blue fur was drawing the attention of the sun, making her hotter than usual, but the small breeze helped.
It was really the best of days to be lazy. Artemis was laying against a large rock, the only boulder that she could see for miles, and she moved her eyes to the sky above. The clouds were slowly moving across the sky, and as she tried to figure out what shapes they could possibly be, and she sighed. Maybe I should take a nap.

Tawny stretched out and let a really loud yawn escape his lips. It wasn't like he had to be quiet there was no one for miles. Or at least from what he could see. Had he dozed off and not realized it? He wasn't sure. He bobbed his tail happily back and forth and blinked to get some dirt away from his eyes.
"What a great day." he let escape his mouth too. Sometimes it was nice to hear noise, even if it was your own voice. He stood up and shook his body. Though, all he wanted to do was lay back down and go back to sleep. He was lazy, though he tried to not be. Not the bad lazy, but more of a calm relaxed ulaya. He had fun when he was around others.

Artemis’ ear swiveled as she listened to the nature around her. Her eyes were closed, and the breeze was ruffling the fur on her belly. She was now on her back, the top of her head pushed up against the rock. If anyone was to see her, they would think her very odd. Her forehead was scrunched, she could tell.
Her other ear swiveled. She could have sworn that she had heard someone talking. Thinking nothing of it, she shook her head. Probably just the wind. Bored of hearing nature, she decided humming would be nice. Not like anyone would hear her. There wasn’t anyone for miles! The humming was quite, and even as she was humming, sleep was crashing upon her. She wasn’t lazy, mind you, she was just a little tired.

Noise came low into the air which made Tawny rather curious. He stood up and raised an eye brow, and both ears up high to listen. It was a female humming voice, or that's what he thought. Where was it coming from. He peaked around the side of the rock, but since it was so big, he could only see the side of the rock and land... Well, that was odd, he didn't see anyone. He quickly ran to the other side of the rock to see what he could see. Still, the same thing. Land. Lots of far off land. Trees in the distance.
"Strange." He said. He didn't even think about looking around at the other side of the rock, No.. At least not until that moment when he smiled and started to creep towards the other end of the rock to see perhaps if someone decided they wanted to lay behind it like he had. Only a few more steps until he was there. He stopped to listen.

The humming continued, and now Artemis was slowly moving her paw to the slow music. It was nice to be able to hum without anyone around. Not that she knew many other Ulaya. Her features were relaxed and her humming never stopped, even as sleep was closing in on her. It was a gift she had always had, and she had been told she talks in her sleep also. Her ears where now drooped and her paw slowing down its swaying. One of her back feet twitched slightly. She was almost fast asleep.

Tawny took a few more steps seeing how the humming didn't stop. It wasn't part of his imagination, perhaps. Finally, he reached the edge of the rock and looked around it to see a mostly blue ulaya. Or what he saw was only blue and white. He cleared his throat. "hello?" He said surprised to see that he didn't notice the other was there.
Well, she could have been there before he got there. He still didn't even know HOW he got there.

Artemis was out of it. Her humming was still going, probably giving the impression of being awake, but really she was asleep. Her paw was still swaying and her ear swiveled in the direction of the voice. What was said slowly processed in her mind, and realizing she might not have been as alone as she thought, she forced her self to awaken, if only slightly. One of her eyes snapped open, and it was so bright she quickly closed it again. Maybe it would be best to slowly open her eyes.

He took a step closer, not sure if she was sleeping, or ignoring him. He didn't see her eye pop open and then shut. He was completely still as he watched her. "Sorry to intrude." He said again still trying to make an effort to talk to her. He loved meeting others. Though, he didn't know when he was being rude or not.

She slowly opened one of her eyes again and looked around; trying to spot the body the voice belonged to. It was all so bright and orange. Orange? She turned her head to get a better look. Opening the other eye just as slowly, she looked at the orange Ulaya, because that is what it was. “Hello.” She said softly, still being extremely tired.

Did he just wake her up? He blushed from being embarrassed. His orange cheeks turned a strange orange red color. "Sorry! Did I wake you up?" He asked looking at her with a very apologetic face. He didn't mean to do that. "I'll leave if you wish?"

She shook her head, probably making her brain go everywhere. “No, I wasn’t sleeping. I was just lying down and, uh, humming.” She didn’t have many friends. She didn’t know why, but it was the truth. Shaking herself to be fully awake she looked at the other Ulaya. “I’m Artemis. What’s your name?”

Well, she insisted she wasn't sleeping. He finally was close to her now, close enough that if he stretched out his front legs, he could touch her. "Oh, I'm Tawny!" He said with a smile. "Nice to meet you!" His silver eyes looked warm, which was strange since most silver eyes would seem cold-like. He gave her a warm smile. "Today's a great day, isn't it?"

She nodded her head, feeling better that she was finally getting over her sleepiness. “It’s nice to meet you too.” She looked him up and down, taking in his markings, his bright orange coat, and his silver eyes. He was just as bright as Apollo was! And he was bright! Shaking her head, her green eyes moved over the sparse landscape. “Yes, it is a nice day.” Her voice was low, and was slightly raspy.

He sat down looking at her. He could see now that she had green along with her blue and white. He smiled. "I was just relaxing behind this huge rock." He said looking at the rock, then back at her. "But I guess, I wasn't the only one. I heard you humming." he added trying to keep a conversation going.
