Hi hi! I'm Caramel, and I'M new here! (I know you have a welcome thread, but this is not misplaced...)
I'm wondering, how do we, as gamer girls, find balance? Monetarily, I mean.
Between gaming, makeup, clothing, and all the sparkly things we desire, How do we manage to stretch the cash?
Money can only go so far...

As for clothing and sometimes sparklies, those come at a fair price in thriftshops! For makeup... I don't use makeup, so I don't know how to find better deals on that. As for games, there is a possibility you can buy a used version on the internet that is usually cheaper. 4laugh I am a sort of good advice giver!

You wait until there's a sale. (Or at least you try to...) It takes patience and self-control to not spend money on what you want, and trust me, it hurts when you can't get a game you want crying . I borrow games from my friends, buy them on sale or ask for them as birthday/Christmas gifts. I buy clothes and makeup either from Walmart or the discount rack. Sometimes I ask myself, "Do I really need this? Will I still use this after a month? A year?"
But mostly I tell myself spending money on non-essentials is bad and berate myself for being cheap the rest of the day.

OMG let me tell you, you arnt alone..when it comes to sparklies and things that glitter im all over it! I also have a minor addiction to lipgloss and shoes...but I usually check on Sundays to see who's having a sale on makeup...trust me there's always a sale...as for clothes I usually save at least $10 a week and at the end of the month go to the mall and buy a couple pieces of clothes. Games I either try to put money aside if I know i'm dying to get it or I go to blockbuster and rent it...oh and if you have games you never play you can take them to like gamestop and such for money towards a new game or games dependin on how many ur trading in...

I don't know, I guess I always choose gaming first! I think it's more important to have fun, then how u look, of course I like to look cute, but comfy, so I don't spend that much on clothes, it's mostly t-shirts and jeans.

I usually go for the game, but if I'm shopping for clothes, I'm shopping for clothes. I put money aside if I really need something. I basically wear my clothes untill they are rags. sweatdrop I get hand-me-downs so I don't have to shopfor clothes or shoes that often. xd

Money issues are tough to sort out... I don't need name-brand clothing or makeup, but I do wear stuff that looks nice.
Also, I usually do not buy games unless it is a game that I have been looking forward to for a long time, and I have sufficiently set money aside for it.
... But ... there are a couple of exceptions. sweatdrop

I manage it by not wearing make-up and not desiring sparkly things. Clothing is a must, but I find used clothing stores have better prices and more variety (and often better made merchandise) so that's where I shop when I need to.

Rulin' ya universes... All my hobbies are very expensive... Lolita fashion, Manga and Anime, Video Games... Which results in me having to save up money ^___^ I also get a quite nice allowance, but usually I can't shop a lot, because of the price of the things I buy... heart So, in other words, I just buy what I want most at the time.
...since 1992.

I like to spend my money on clothes, make up, and the things I need. I struck gold when I found a boyfriend who likes 90% of the same games I do. He loves to buy video games, so I just play his. We buy ours from Vintage Stock (a second hand store that sells movies, music, games, collectible toys, cards etc.), so we don't spend that much on games.
