Hey all, I know i haven't been on in an age and a half. But there is a reason for it. The transfer from High School to College has been...interesting....Anyways, to the point.
I have recently decided to join the Army. I'm currently enrolled in the Army ROTC program at CSU Fresno and loving every minute (could live without the 0430 wake up calls though.). So through participation in this program and a number of other things i have come to teh conclusion that Athe U.S. Army is whats right for me. Specifically the Army National Guard. And yeah...so I thought you guys, being my friends, might want to know. Feel free to attempt to talk me out of it here, but you should all know that my family has already tried and failed.

O.O the army? *in shock* *shakes it off* well, so long as you don't get yourself blown up, I guess it's alright. I know of alot of people who've joined up and I know that when they make the choice, there's nothing anyone can do about it. Good luck out there. and don't forget us. If you don't make contact once in a while, we'll(or I'll) worry that you're dead. Just keep in contact and don't get blown up.

Yes, getting blown up is bad. repeat it with me. Blowing yourself up is a bad thing. Don't do it.

"Getting blown up is a bad thing." But blowing things up OTHER than yourself is a good thing and I find it enjoyable.

Oh yes...because there is that saying right? "Blow up thine enemy"? That is correct isn't it? (or if you like Monty Python "blow thine enemy into tiny bits")

I would suggest you pray about your decision as well but I wouldn't try to talk you out of it. I have nothing but respect for those who are willing to put themselves between those they love and danger and who include people like me -- who they've never met -- in with "those they love."

Thanks guys. And i dont think i'll be blowing anyone up anyway. Truth be told I plan on majoring in Mental Therapy and becoming a doctor so I can help those men and women who are coming back. And while i have decided to jon i've also decided to wait unyil i'm done with school. Truth be told i cant really do teh 2nd year of ROTC just yet because it requires a 6 week training in Arkansas(sp?). And, I have a cat at home that needs to be taken care of, and a job that i just recently aqquired, and school to worry about....So i think waiting is best. And it leaves me the option of serving a mission.
It also leaves me time to think and pray about this and make sure that its whats right and im not making a horrible mistake.

The scriptures do say that we should "study it out in our minds." Best of luck!

My current crush is in the army. Kind of terrifies me right now actually. He is a cavalry scout. I don't know that I want to like someone in that kind of danger. cry
