CURRENT EVENTS

OVERALL: Nobody has heard from the King in weeks. The edicts are going out, but nobody has actually seen him. Of course, nobody has yet been bothered to check on the situation—the nobles are far too busy with “more important matters”.
NOBILITY: The preparations for the annual Royal Masquerade have begun. As per tradition, the King is expected to show up, but if the rumors are correct, that might not be possible. At present, however, there are just far too many things to do in preparation for anyone to bother snooping around…
CLERGY: The King has not shown up to a single service in weeks. Worse yet, the Archbishop has gone missing, as well! Perhaps it has something to do with the odd occurrences witnessed in the deeper parts of Lucre Cathedral. The strangest thing, though, is the chanting and haunting melodies that can be heard when all else is silent; nobody knows whence they’re coming. Unfortunately, proper authorization bars the doors to the inner chambers.
BOURGEOISIE: A rash of burglaries has struck many of the higher houses of the middle class. The constabulary, of course, is baffled. There doesn’t appear to be any sort of pattern between them, except that each place reports a number of small, inexpensive things having gone missing. What’s more, at each location, a small scrap of silver was found at every house. Were they done by the same crook, and if so, what are his intentions?
BOHEMIANS: A new artistic movement seems to be gaining popularity within the communities of Bohemians. It seems rather simplistic and realistic, but tiny little details catch the viewer’s eye, seemingly for no apparent reason. What’s more, the House of Blood is becoming an oddly common subject, even for Bohemians. Can the artistic community decipher these out-of-place subtleties?
PROLETARIAT: New inventions are sprouting up everywhere. Each one seems more fantastic than the last. There have even been rumors of machines that could preserve food for weeks! Many have become skeptical about the claims of all these machines, but the younger generations can’t hear enough of technology. Perhaps the local tinkering clubs and shops know more…
SUNKEN ONES: For the truly poor, life gets harder and harder. Hints of new sources of money have arisen, however: reports say that a large shipment of precious gems is bound for the palace. If it’s to believed, it’s due to arrive in a couple days. With that kind of money, one could eat for a week!
