Tails flicked idly and boredly as the male kitsu lay resting in the short grass. Not as comfortable as it used to be, with fall making the grass stiff and brittle. Either way, it was one of the last few times to enjoy the outdoor weather. Ronan clicked his tongue as he curled tighter on his side, feather light tails brushing about his hind legs. Even with the sun out in the clear open, the chilly air and crisp winds destroyed any warmth to be gained. What a bother. White orbs slowly peered open behind eyelids, musing tiredly. His friends were expecting young, and expecting him to care for one in the near future. How...odd that would be. Considering he never grew up around kits, and considered them to be nothing more than little bundles of tiring energy. So to be one's babysitter 24/7 would be something completely new to the ex-fighter. Now was his time to prepare his mindset for this change...

User ImageHantadhiel wobbled mournfully through the field. Her head hung low and her tails nearly all the way tucked between her legs. The look of her fur and body matched her posture. Her fur had dulled and lost its shine. While her body looked thin and unkept. Her bones were defined on her skin. The once actively fluttering wings now barely move and hang limp on her back.
She usually staid near the lake as that place gave her more comfort and hope her family would return. The first time she saw the lake was with Sheik. They also found their adopted daughter there. And now, they were all gone. Her love, her daughter... gone. It felt as if her heart had been ripped out and lost.
And with her heart her will to speak and be around others. It has been over five months since she had last talked to another or even been back at the HQ.

Ronan huffed a breath of warm air before blinking open his white eyes. Even if resting on his side, the male knew that blotch of black was something that wasn't in the scenery before. One ear flicked vertical, before the rest of his body followed. The male leaned on his side and elbow as he analyzed the other. Yeah, it was a kitsu alright, but not an angelic. Then what type of wings were those?

Even more concerning was the way the other moved. Ronan was no doctor, but that appearance didn't look healthy at all. Brows furrowed as he made to stand, giving a stretch before moving towards the other. He was careful not to be loud and scare the other. But also not to be so quiet as to frighten her either. "Miss?" He flashed a friendly smile so as not to leave her guessing if he was a threat.

User ImageAt first Hanta ignored the friendly call and continued to wobble, but her conscious would stab at her until the friendly call was replied to. She came to a slow stop, bobbing a little as she did, and looked back at the one who called to her. Her ears twiched slightly, along with her antenna, before flopping down again.

"Yes?..." She answered in a weak voice. It was close to a whisper, but loud enough to be heard. The tone was so full of pain and loss.

The male pinned his ears against his shoulders. He hadn't heard a voice in that tone for a long time. And to hear sush a sound again, it tugged deep in his gut. Tails itched on the ends as they flicked, noting her slight avoidance of him. Dropping to his elbows, Ronan crouched down and woddled forward. Much like a pup does to ask forgiveness from its master.

"Now now then." His face was taunt, not knowing what was ailing the other kitsu. Or how to go about comforting another without his dry sarcasm. "What calls for such a sad face, huh? I'd love if you took the time to tell me. Might do you some good?" He couldn't just let the other leave in such a state. He doubted she could even if she tried.

User ImageThe look on his face made Hanta lean back a little as she conflicted within her mind weather to run or not. It would be hard for her to so as her body was worn out and ready to fall. Another was her conscious tugged at her again, refusing to let this Kit go unanswered. It was not in her personality to just leave someone so coldly, no matter how she felt or what mood she was in.

"My family is gone..." She took a two steps closer to the male kitsu.
"My love, my daughter, gone and there has been no s-sign of them in a l-long t...t...time." She begun to choke on the last few words as she tried to hold back heavy sobbing.

Now that he was closer, Ronan was all the more careful. He didn't want to startle the other in any way, and so remained low to the ground. Clear details were seen now on her black and unglossed fur; the ribs visible just below. Maybe he could rush to get her food? Even the apples of Fall would be something to energize her.

Ronan blinked from his rushed thoughts when the butterfly hobbled an inch closer. "Your family?" Ears had to lift high to hear her tiny and choked words. Gone? The male jolted when he realized the other was overwhelmed by tears. W..what now? "Hey, hey." Again he crawled closer and lightly tapped his head under her chin in soft comfort. "If you must cry, then cry. But don't hold it all in like you have been." So that explained her poor condition. Heartache. His body cringed to the foreign word, and he shifted his body into a curl. His fur was at least poofy enough should she topple over, or want to hide her face for some time.

User ImageHanta flinched at his touch. She hadn't been touched or even spoken too in a long time. This man sounded so much like Sheik. Not in his voice, but in his words. He would have told her the same thing...

Tears begun to spill from here eyes until finally she let loose. Everything she had been trying to hold back for the past few months exploded out of her in a wild sob. At first howling to the sky, but than it fell as her legs buckled and she weeped in the Kitsu's fur. She shook all over as she cried harder.
All thought, all reasoning, everything in her mind just blanked out as she face planted the other kit. If she had been in any other state of mind she wouldn't have done that...

Ronan winced as the other broke down. He wasn't the type of kitsu to outright comfort another. But he had enough courtesy to tame his smart tongue and use it to support others. The male stayed to the ground as the kitsu adjusted to the demands of her sadness. A startled gasp appeared when she buckled, afraid she'd bruise her small form if she fell hard.

He tilted his neck, giving the other her space needed to cry to her heart's content. He may be prideful, but he never minded being a shoulder to cry on. Be it hurt friend or depressed stranger. He could just imagine the headache this lady would be stuck with afterwards though. The colorful male brushed his head lightly on the shoulder, frowning as he felt the bone. So, as the other wept, he busied himself with grooming her wings as gently as possible.

User ImageHer wings would twitch slightly at the male's touch causing some sparkling powder to float from them to the ground. Something of a sign they were still slightly healthy.

It was a good ten minutes before she was able to calm down enough to lift her head from the stranger. And, as thought, she did have a rather large headache, but it felt better to get most of that out. Her antenna twitched just before she lifted her head. Her eyes slightly shut. Partially because the light and partially because the headache.

"I-I'm sor-ry." She hiccuped in a quiet tone. Now she realized she just spent the past few minutes crying on someone she didn't know, and getting his fur wet.
"Th-thank y-ou...." She added after realizing that he didn't push her off either.

The wingless kitsu continued the grooming, careful not to sneeze when the powder would catch in the air. At least some gleam was recovered to the thin membranes of butterfly wings.

Time went by that Ronan didn't bother counting before he could hear and feel the other begin to calm. He glanced at her tear stained face when she pulled back, a frown still on his own face. "There's no need to apologize, alright?" Blue tails wagged beside him as he adjusted his own pose, moving more on his tummy than side. "You're welcome. If anything, I'd be much happier with a name though." He allowed a grin for the other while stretching his front legs. "Then if you'll let me, I can fetch you a meal. How's that sound?" If not for her tummy then for her throbbing headache.

User ImageHanta nodded and calmed down a little more. The shaking slowed down until finally it came to a halt. Even the headache subsided a little, but it still remained strong enough to make her wince.

Her wings twitched in a half a flutter as she contemplated his offer. There was no reason that the name should be held from him. He had treated her so kindly and they didn't even know each other. It would be appropriate if he at least got her name.
"Hantadhiel..." She managed to speak without hiccuping, but the tone was still quiet.
"...and, may I have your's?"
As she finished the question her gaze moved from the ground to the stranger's eyes.

Ronan didn't know if the wings twitching was a flutter or an effect of her shakings. He gave a sigh though when she finally stopped shivering, finding that to be a good sign to start.

"Hantadhiel, a lovely name." The ex-fighter nodded, both in approval and as encouragement for the other to keep speaking. It would help to clear out all the fatigue and strain that was unneccesary. The male blinked and turned his own white eyes to her red-lined ones. "Mine? Of course you may." As if the question had been a silly one, and he shook his head kindly. "My name is Ronan." He finally made to stand on his blue paws. "And if you don't mind now, I'd like to go get you a meal. All I ask is you stay here and don't strain yourself, if you may." Call it manners or instinct, but Ronan knew better and wouldn't think twice of leaving a female wounded so.

User ImageShe gave him a respectable nod. They were now properly introduced and can now e considered acquaintances. He was very caring of someone he knew so little about... Maye it was some hidden motive that she was unaware of? Maybe not, either way Hanta was grateful for his kindness.

She slid back a little from Ronan so she could lay down. It was her sign she would not move as he had wished.
"Thank you, Ronan." She lowered her head again. "I promise I won't move."

Ronan nodded in reply, grateful she wasn't in the arguing mood. He hated it when others were so depressed that they refused any help; aggitating. "Heh, be right back then." And without a second glance, he dashed off for the treeline. For one of his mass, he moved pretty well all thanks to past training. It wasn't long before he was under the trees, spying their gold dipped leaves. And the red apples hidden in between.

The time it took to pluck them was abit longer than he had expected. Best not to get fruit too ripe or dry. With two set in his jaws, the kitsu darted his way back. As promised, the black winged kitsu was still there. The apples were dropped and rolled towards the other as Ronan sat back. Had Hanta voiced her suspicions or even called him kind, he might have had to supressed a laugh. Perhaps he was too social for his own good? Oh well, so long as he was of some help, he could care less of his reputation. And at times like this, he could imagine his sarcasm to be of unappreciated use.
