Hello Ladies. I've kinda become a lurker, but I just wanted to like, short rant about something.
I love to lurk in the feedback forums alot, and the question/assistance ones. One trend I've noticed is that nobody has kind words for the admins anymore. This makes me feel sad, and almost be embarrassed to be lumped into the masses of unthankful gaians. sweatdrop Everyone seems ungrateful and unhappy with all the work that's don't just so we can have fun when we want. This...just really makes me sad.
So while I'm cleaning my room, lets talk about: Gaia Admins(People who run the place) Feedback on Gaia Lurking on Gaia Rude Gaians

Well...
I have mixed feelings. First, I love that they actually run the site, and keep it semi-bug free.
But as the same time.... it's like they don't feel like listening us, they keep changing the site, over and over, sometimes without our input.

I guess some parts can be annoying, like things that probably should be left up to the users like bg colors, but I just feel bad at how harshly worded some silly complaints are. ;;

 I've noticed that too. I lurk the GCD a lot, and it always seems like someone there has something bad to say about any new feature we get.
I feel like, if you don't like a feature, don't use it. Like the Cash Cards. I LOVE those things. But i just think that if you don't like the cash, DON'T BUY IT. Get the Kaya and the new store items from the marketplace. Period.
The new features are making Gaia better, and if you don't like it, ignore them, imo.

Okay, okay. xD Like every person on this planet, I'm not always totally happy with the way the authority exercises its power. But on the whole, I'm very pleased with Gaia. Whenever I see someone in the Q&A complaining about Word Bump or something like that ("Whens R they gunne FIX its"), I gently remind that if they don't like the fact that the admins have more important things than Word Bump on their list, well... There's the door. Don't let it hit you in the a** on the way out. I mean, seriously. The admins give us so much and ask for like nothing in return. I know it's frustrating sometimes, but take a step backwards and look at what we've got!

I think gaia is great. And I'm sure they put a lot of effort and time into getting the site to how it is now. I mean, they're working hard to improve and change things for our benefit.

I can see why people aren't as happy with the Admins as they could be...but, they think that Gaia has to stay the same as it was in the beginning
They don't care that it takes money to keep the site running, and the Admins are doing their best to get this is any way they can.
I have no problem with change...i've adapted really well with all the changes they've made, and even started to get what it was like before ^^;

I just dislike how people can be hypocrites (gah sp please I'm rushing out the door. x.x) They say they want more items, they get them, almost exactly to what they want, and face it, they're not happy. They want protection against hackers, Gaia does this, they're REALLY not happy.
Don't look a gifthorse in the mouth.
....ngh. I'll be back to work on this post later. x.x;

Usually, I love the admins. They've done a great job with the site and generally keep people happy.
I know that their job is a difficult one, it's probably not very easy trying to satisfy one hundred thousand people at once.
But I sometimes feel that they don't listen to us very eagerly. One thing that really set me off was when they turned the whole 2% feed- back into some sort of joke. Very few people were actually happy with that change, but all they could do was send us an economy major or whatever that guy was. So it helped for some people, but a lot of people were still unsatisfied.
I remember, in the layout before the one before this one, they put up people that looked like they were fresh out of a cereal box or something. There was an uproar among Gaians, but it took them a while to change it to something better.
Even so, I feel a lot of respect for them, because no matter how much we are disagreeing, they still stick to the new features and stuff, or at least they change them a litte, but they never actually go back.
And, about new items and stuff, I think it's ridiculous for people to complain about them. I mean, they are OPTIONAL. Don't like, don't buy >.> [/wall of text]

Oh, and one more thing. Don't you guys hate it when users say "if Gaia doesn't such and such thing I don't like, I'm leaving Gaia forever."
I always feel like saying "Dude, save that for your gf/bf. Gaia's not going to change in order to stop one user from leaving" stare talk2hand

I know! It's tottally like, if you don't like it, just leave. XD They're total drama queens over all this. I mean here we are complaining about pixels, and people in other countries are starving. I mean, how unbalanced can you get?
I guess the only things that really bother me are the text limit in posts because I run a shoppe, but still I havn't had to face it as of yet, because all my posts have been under the limit. The tax, no bother to me. The VII thing, no bother to me. It actually's entertaining to me. lol.
I mean, we finally got the elf ears we've been asking for for a long time, and ears for the skins. I mean, THAT wasn't even good enough. I mean, I don't celebrate the holidays, so I don't get involved. Personally I think it would be cool if Gaia had it's own made up holidays or something. XD
But really, the site costs money to run, they need it. It can't be done for free. If you don't like what they're offering, there's enough that you don't even have to hear about it if you just go on your own way.
The filter, okay fine. It's their site and we signed the user agreement.
I support the admins because they try, and everything is so costly nowadays. Just the cost of living is through the roof.
I like the navigation of Gaia now more than ever. In 05 it was kinda a mess, and now it's more user friendly. More new people can figure it out more than ever. So what if we have to get used to it, they're always trying to do things for the good of this digital community!!
...woah that was a long ramble. x.x Sorries.

I support the admins but it'd be nice if they'd follow through with the things they say. Such as the moderator applications, they keep saying 'They will all be done in so many weeks' but so many weeks pass and they're not done. I wish they'd stop saying when they'll be done because every time they've been wrong. It's unprofessional.
And I wish they'd fix old glitches that were promised to be fixed instead of coming out with new features. Such as, how long was word bump supposed to be broken and how many new features did we get, not to mention a car update. If they're going to promise to fix something soon, then they need to work on it. If they don't intend to work on it soon, then I wish they wouldn't say they were. Saying one thing and doing another really discredits them. That'd frustrate anyone. 3nodding

 Sort of on a sidenote here, but the Word Bump thing made me remember;
What, if anything, are the university credits for? I know they go to Edmund, but when i try to trade them in it says it's disabled.
Were they ever used for something? EVER?
