What the hell am I give away as prizes for the upcoming-super-awesome contest-that-I-will-hopefully-be-able-to-actually-do?
Because right now, I'm trying to earn as much money as I can AND think up the actual contest, so, ya know, help with the idea for the prizes?

Well, I wasn't on gaia during the halloween event last year, but the christmas items sold well. When this year's event starts, just have those aiding you in the event "trick-or-treat" or whatever it is like crazy, the prizes build up, you can give those away... The contest could be something to the lines of "post the scariest picture/movie/onlinegame or something like that. You and those helping you will give the thing a score from 1 to 10 on "scaryness". You figure out which prize is for what rank.

Trick or treat until i get a bunch of event items and give them away to the winners?
But they would have their own, and I like those event items ;3;
how about something to do with buying items with actual gold
Because I'm getting that like CRAZY.

There are those known as "lazy" or "stupid people" who just buy the stuff rather than work for it... but do we want lazy and stupid people? And how long did it take you to get 17K?

Wait! new plan! Sell the items and use the money for better prizes! Have a team of event doers, getting the items and a team of markteers selling them and buying prizes. That could work out well... or someone could get greedy and just keep everything, you'd need people you can trust.

1, it took me awhile to 17k, it takes time to get money >.>
2, Why don't i just buy 2-3 old MCs and *evently* let go of the MCs i have and don't want?

Look for recruits, I'd help but I'm practically only on on the weekends, but I can support with the event item selling... Why do you want to do this thing again?

Well, Scary Stories stands out, but not everyone is great at writing stories ( Like me, sweatdrop ) and I only know a few people here that can draw really well, and scary Avatar Judging wont be too fair because the are a bunch of newbies whom don't have that much money sweatdrop
So, I don't really think the contests are all that fair...

Well, the scary pictures sounds like a good idea, because everyone can find them.
( btw, i brought the newest MC because the items [they were leaked] seemed cool, so i brought it, and now im back now to 12,884gold >.> )

You'd have to make a list of things that won't be counted in the countest for beeing too well known, Miss Lady, for instance.
