I squealed when I saw this. From www.drwho-online.co.uk Quote: DWO have just received a brand new press release confirming series five of Doctor Who and David Tennants continuation in the role of The Doctor. Check out the News section for more info. I couldn't find the rest of that article in the news section of that site, though, but it gives Tennant fans more hope!

Well, that's alright. Tennant makes a great Doctor :3 Not my favourite, but he fits the part fantastically. Glad to see he may not be going.

I think this stems from an interview Jane Tranter did with Media Guardian. Hang on, I'll find the link...
http://media.guardian.co.uk/broadcast/story/0,,2182137,00.html
I found that link on Outpost Gallifrey. I think there is every chance that David will be coming back though. There are three specials in 2009 with him in. One of those has to be a Christmas one, and they wouldn't ruin the fans' Christmas by regenerating the Doctor.
And added to which, if he was going to leave before Series Five, surely they would have let him leave at the end of Series Four instead of having a gap year and letting him do the specials!

I'm hoping Tennant sticks around for a good long while, two more seasons at least, hopefully 3-5.

Good to hear!! I think it kind of ruins the show if the Doctor isn't around for quite a while. I don't want the current Doctor to go either.

Only sad part is that he's not allowed to go to any conventions while he has the role... *frustrated* I guess they're afraid he'll give away plot points...

question Well, DUH! Why do they have it that way? Doctors used to go to cons all the time! So did JNT!

Eirwyn question Well, DUH! Why do they have it that way? Doctors used to go to cons all the time! So did JNT! Yeah, true, but the thing is, Doctor Who is now a LOTLOTLOTLOTLOTLOTLOT more newsworthy than it was back then (sorry, classic series), so they don't want to risk anything getting out if they can help it.

: D
Tennant is definitely one of my favorite doctors, and is one of the best actors to play the role, imo. He's great.
I honestly believe Tennant might actually beat Tom Baker's record.
