Hi! I have a little girl who is 8 weeks old and definitely plan on having more kids in the future. I have had alot of experience with kids by babysitting my sister's 5 little boys. So I was wondering how does it differ raising boys and girls (besides the obvious things)? Do you think one is easier than the other?

From what I've heard girls are easier when they're little and boys are easier when they're older.
Personally I love my little girls. I was certainly glad that our first was a girl becaue Hubby had never changed a diaper before we had her. Having learned to change diapers on my little brothers I have to say that I think that girls are easier to learn on. I've also heard that girls are typically easier to potty train. xd

My son is easier to take care of and deal with than my daughter.. but my son is 3 months old and my daughter is 18 months, so.. there's a bit of a difference.
So far, the major differences I've noticed are (from when she was his age):
He hates having a dirty diaper. (She couldn't have cared less.) He's a less agressive breastfeeder. (She was like a little pirana, attacking the breast with vigor; but he, for example, was overwhelmed by an engorged breast; and occasionally chokes during let down.) He stopped peeing during diaper changing before she did (he stopped around a month or so ago, but she'd sometimes pee all the way up to 6 months).
Here's one I can't figure out.. she loved being worn (a wrap style baby carrier, for example), would just fall right asleep and stay asleep for hours (I'd usually have to wake her up for nursings), but my son doesn't. He fusses when he's first put in it, he will fall asleep and sleep for hours, but not always; sometimes he just stayes awake and fusses. He loves to be carried in my arms, though, and held, and cuddled, and such.. I haven't figured out what the issue with being in a carrier is (and I have three different kinds of carriers).
While I was still nursing her, she hated it when I'd drink or eat anything fruity, specifically with citrissy stuff (she would turn into a fussy eater, so I avoided citruss juices/fruits and she was perfectly happy with everything else). He doesn't care (seriously, I have yet to consume something that he actully gets fussy about).
Both of them seemed to nurse forever, though.. I settle down to nurse the baby and can be indisposed anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half.

Kristall Fox: From my experience a lot of those things are child's personality rather than gender.
I have two girls. El doesn't like having dirty diapers and comes to get me after she's made a poopy one. Kay still doesn't seem to care if she's been wearing a wet pull-up for hours.
Kay was a better nurser than El.
El seems to be more snuggly too. Kay wants to sit in my lap when El is, but she usually doesn't seek out snuggling unless it's at bed time. El loves to come over and climb into my lap.
There were different foods with each of my daughters that I could get away with while pregnant and/or nursing.

I have 2 boys and 2 girls - The boys are teenagers, the girls are early elementary age.
Boys are easier! They are more physical and may take more energy, BUT they don't argue as often and they don't get tied up in emotional knots as much. Even as teenagers, my boys have been pretty easy on me.
OF course all kids are different - my 2 girls are nothing alike, but I can already see that the teenage years will be more difficult than they have been with the boys. One girl is liable to cry throughout her teenage years when the hormones hit, and the other is more of a free spirit - I'm pretty sure she'll be wanting to do things HER WAY as a teenager.
Time will tell.

my son just turned 7 and my daughter will be 3 later on this month. my son is deffinatly the easier of the two but my daughter was a lot easier to potty train. Brandon is so much more easy going but wasn't potty trained till 4. when it comes to tanturms 5 to 10 mins tops. Serena is very high stung and will throw a tantrum and keep it up for 30 to 45 mins or untill she makes herself sick but she was potty trained at 2. she is still a good kid just has a different personality.
