Alright, so this idea came from thinking about Servitors, Scrying, and Strategy, in general. I've never made a servitor myself, but I can say I'm at least vaguely familiar with the principle. For the people that can actually create servitors around here, I'm aware that this may seem complicated.

So. Servitors, as far as I know = Construct made of Psi, can be programmed to do specific tasks. They are very versatile, it seems, can slowly become complicated.

So. I've theorized a way to use servitors to scry/spy on your enemies, heck, anyone, if you're creative enough.

Step One: Make a physical chart of sorts, a personal chessboard, if you will. For example, say I take a very large piece of paper, and draw several circles on it. In the circles, I'll write things like "Your Enemy is At Rest" or "Your Enemy is Plotting Against You". Not the best examples, but you could write basically anything your servitor-to-be-created could possibly detect. "Your Enemy's Aura is ----", whatever.

Step Two: Create two linked servitors. For this I'll just imagine up little floating orbs made of psi. You send one after your enemy, to watch them at all times, and to communicate with the other servitor. The second servitor now basically acts like a chess-piece for your personal chessboard. In this particular example, it would be programmed to receive the data sent by the servitor watching your enemy, and then, on the "personal chessboard" you've made, this servitor would move itself to the corresponding circle.

Step Three: Now that you've created and programmed your servitors, whenever your enemy does something that corresponds to one of the circles you've made on your "personal chessboard", the servitor that spies will observe the action and communicate to the servitor that moves. You get back from your daily business, and sense which circle your servitor is hovering over. Viola! You now know what your enemy is up to.

Or whoever you want to watch, even. Not just an enemy, say someone you know is going on a trip and you want to watch over them -- this would work too.

See, I know that if you had the theoretical ability you could do this yourself, but I'm not one for visions and actual scrying, it all seems fuzzy to me. I don't even know that servitors exist, but either way I thought I'd share the idea with the guild. Your comments would be greatly appreciated. Also, I might add a picture to this thread representing the personal chessboard if the description came off as confusing.

Sounds fantastic, like an WeeGee board (This spelling is better) That runs itself. If you could get it to work, it would be wonderful. If anyone made one of these I would enjoy seeing it very much.

I just astrally came everywhere after reading this. However, a detailed "omg, you rule" post will have to wait til I get back from the Dread Uni of Versity.

EDIT; Alright. I love this idea so much. The beauty of this entire idea is that it probably wouldn't even need to be a chessboard that's used -- the messages are pretty general, and could be put on anything from a clock (like the one Molly Weasley has in her kitchen, only for enemies?) to a poster filled with symbols, to a deck of custom-made Tarot cards that show different actions the enemy could be taking.

Awesome post, Subby. You gain one internet.

I will admit, I tried to grasp the phrase "You gain one internet" and failed. But yeah, personal "chessboard" was just a term to relate it to strategy. The example was closer to the poster thing. Everything you mentioned was pretty on the spot. And I actually thought about that particular clock, whether before or after I actually had the idea, I can't say for sure. But hmmm, I wonder if this idea could be more developed. It'd be interesting to discover some sort of innovation I haven't thought about relating to this. It'd be really cool if I knew a psion who'd be interested in trying this, too. But for some reason I feel like I'm out of luck, in the latter area.

Gain one internet; derivative of you win the internet.

You might also be interested in the book "The Occult Art of War" by 'Seth' (it's a pretty small book, fairly cheap). It's bits of Sun Tzu's book, "the Art of War", but interpreted for magickal combat. Pretty trippy, if you ask me.
