So. We now have a "celebrity" on Gaia. What does this mean for us as a site? Is it even really him? We'll never know unless he says something on TV. Could this mean more people like this will pop up?
What about the item? o3o I personally like it. I can't explain it though.
Does this need to be in the OOC forum? I wasn't sure cause of all the other advertising threads that have popped up here. >O>

Eh, I have mixed feelings about it.
On the one hand, cool, celebrity on gaia (in theory)
but on the other...
oh god... WRESTLING. Soap Operas for men.
Then again, I suppose somewhere on the site there are wrestle fans. So I suppose I can't b***h. We have our anime to satisfy us.

This concerns me. As much as I love getting new items and seeing Gaia do well, I must admit some trepidation at the level of commercialism going on. I worry that it will degrade the quality of Gaia and reduce it to more of a advertisement rather than an online forum for youths and adults. However such a loss in quality would partially be brought upon by the users themselves. But if Gaia gets too tangled in marketing then they could be trapped in contracts and loose much of the independent nature of the site that has kept it going for so many years.

Yeah. I'm thankful for now announcement as well. It would have only gotten my hopes up and crushed them. Gaia is good at that.
@Aldera: Yeah. I don't mind advertising, but there's a certain point where it gets too messy and things just aren't fun. And we get crappy items like flashlights and magnifying glasses. o__o;

I like the mimzy ad, and I did enjoy the movie, but it worries me that some such ads will start being intrusive. Like making it impossible to go to towns with out a scion. I know that's a slippery slope argument, but it could happen. I'd hate to rely on product placement to unlock parts of the site.

You know, I would find it greatly hilarious if he had an account on gaia before this, and he approached them. Also, As far as wrestlers go, we could get worse. Guy is pretty nice, the man, not the character of course. Because thats what wrestlers do. They have characters to stay in.
