Please list in this thread just the ones you found really outstanding, the kind you'd read again and again, and can't wait to tell friends about and a little about why you liked it. --LHH You don't have to follow the format that I'm using, but I find it makes it easier to determine if you will like the fic or not. I'm using the mugglenet rating system... name: The Dangers of mistletoe, by CCC rating: 6th-7th years Summary: Some enchanted mistletoe in the halls that forces you to kiss whomever's under it. how awesome is it?: I usually don't like the Draco/Ginny pairing, but this fic rules! It focuses on a bunch of strange relationships that wouldn't seem to work. But somehow...they do! This fic is amazingly funny and believible. A+! warnings: Sexual content Name: To make Stone Blush, by Coppercurles. rating: 2nd-3rd years Summary: A Slytherin girl thinks she is dying and goes to Snape for help. How awesome is it?: This story is a must read for any girl over the age of 11. Coppercurles turns an OC into a real character, and puts our wonderful Snape in a predicament not seen in the books. warnings: talks about the menstrual cycle. not for men with weak stomachs.
NOTE: I am only putting Fics that I think show really exceptional work. I don't want any "I thought it was okay"...This thread is reserved for the best!

The first one that jumps to my mind is DangerVerse. The order goes Living with Danger, Living Without Danger, Dealing with Danger (which are all completed) and then Facing Danger (which is still in progress). This story has literally changed my fandom.

I had a system crash a while back and haven't restored my fan fic favorites yet, but
I did re-find this gem. Despite the name, it is most assuredly PG/13 and I found myself roaring with laughter so hard I almost cried: The Naked Quidditch Match

Now, unfortunately, it seems to stop at the Game, and the link on that page takes you to a different site. I have to go to some muggle activity, so my sleuth time to see if there are more chapters will have to wait. The First 9 chapters posted tho, are hysterical and somehow insanely joyous.
And congrats to fourtysecondscarf (would LOVE to know how you came by your moniker) on being sorted into Ravenclaw!

And it gets better the more you read. This one is rated Teen. The second is K+ which is like pre-teens.. The third is rated the same as the second. The last two out are also rated Teen. They basically goes through Ron and Hermione getting together, dating, getting married, starting two businesses , having a baby and a lot more. Fabulous reads!!! heart

Well this is one of my favorite fan fics to date..(and I've read alot!) I recommend it to Snape lovers....its basically a 3 part series if Harry was adopted by Snape thing but it has alot of twists and turns. Its amazing! Its written by GreenGecko on h a r r y p o t t e r f a n f i c t i o n . c o m The first story is Resonance. ResonanceSo if anybody likes a good read, its extremely long though, so I recommend that you need a lil' extra time to read this. It is good though.

I LOVE After the End by Arabella and Zsenya from the Sugar Quil. While it isn't canon- it deviated after book 4- I still found the whole thing a marvelous read. I got in trouble several times staying up late to read it. I don't have a link right now, but you can just go to the Sugar Quill and search it there. Pretty easy.

Harry Potter and the Thousand Year NightThis is definetly my favorite fanfiction so far, because its completely original. Its also extremely far from canon, but I'm fine with that in this single case.

I don't have the URL for any of the fanfiction I like, but I can give you the names and then go onto www.fanfiction.net and search for it. It won't take that long 'cause you can narrow down the searches. I always read Only Harry Potter fanfiction (he should be the main character) and the stories I read are always long (40,000 words and more). So, there is "World as We Knew It" by GinnyPOtter. The summery should be something about an Aperio or such. "World Without Me" by Eternal Cosmos is about how Harry is sent to a parallel universe by Dumbledore's phoenix because even though Harry did defeat Voldemort, everyone else died to (in the wizarding world). Also, the stranger trilogy by serpent sorcerer is amazing! The title are Stranger in an Unholy Land, and Stranger in a Promise Land... Or something like that. They can also be found on groups.yahoo.com/group/stranger_trilogy, but you have to be a member to read it. ~I love fanfiction.
