Alex pushed himself off of the ground again finally to give the cage thing another go. Balthazar was apparently still having none of that.

What did he need to do. What did he need to do???
Alexander kept trying to get the bird in the cage, but it seemed like the more he tried, the more it struggled to get away from him. Completely exasperated now, he contemplated just giving up and letting the bird go free.

That was it. Alexander completely gave up. The bird could just be free forever.
He hung his head in shame. Outmanuevered by poultry.

Alex was defeated and broken. This small and fancy bird had shattered what fighting spirit he had left. He sighed to himself, his heart heavy, his shame overwhelming.
Then Balthazar decided, hey, I think I will go in my cage, and with a flap of his wings settled himself down into the one cage Alex hadn't tried to put him in.
........
Alex facepalmed.

Sparrow gave Belladonna a wide smile.
"Yes, they are a stubborn lot, aren't they?" he replied cheerfully, and handed the witch a token, as well as a free spooky. "And thank you, my dear, I'm quite pleased with them myself. They're a handful, but they're such lovely and faithful creatures, after all."
There was a pink haired ghoul standing a few feet away, apparently having a great deal of difficulty with said creatures. Sparrow laughed a little, reaching up a hand to stroke Balthazar's neck fondly.
"Don't worry," he told her. "They're just being ridiculous."
Her question made him blink, Sparrow cocking his head to the side a little, but then he smiled. "I'm afraid not," he said lightly, eyes twinkling. "They're pretty loyal to me - chances are they'd peck you if you tried to take them away."
Tomoko received a warm smile and a bow from Sparrow, a hand against his chest. "It's delightful to meet you, Lady Tomoko, and I thank you for stopping by to assist me in my time of need."
The zomboi had Sparrow laughing a little, reaching out to clap the other on the shoulder.

In the end, it was all worth it. Alexander stood back proudly once the bird was set in it's cage, the door closing shut behind it. Too bad the bird was just going to escape again the moment his back was turned. If he knew that he'd probably be flipping all of the things in a fit of rage. But as it was, he was at peace. He had done it. He was not a total failure at everything. The clap on his back had him turning around and offering the boil a large grin, though if he could flush in embarrassment, he would. "Uh, no problem. Sorry it took me so long." He reached up to run fingers through his hair, eye downcast. kurotomato <3 sorry I had to run earlier XD tokennnn

Acerium nearly squealed, her sap warming a bit.
The student council potential nominees couldnt be all bad, even if one had set up a cold theme!

She somewhat bashfully bowed back. Wow!
if she could vote for him... she definitely would! just from that!
Ah! a pheonix flew over her head! Maybe if she caught him and put him back into one of those cages... maybe he would notice and she could flirt with him on more level ground. He was clearly out of her league right now! she tried to grasp the bird in her twigs

Ah! She had managed to catch the bird!
She looked at the reaper to see if he noticed before taking great care to put the bird back in its cage...
It didnt fit into the cage she tried to put it in and it wiggled and got away.
