I'm 23 and I've been an avid artist all my life. I'm British, and I've been on Gaia for about six years. Bluetabbycat is my main account, and I'm saving up for various EIs and Monthly Collectibles - among other expensive items for my mules.
I prefer to to anything in the fantasy/sci-fi genre, but can easily do *normal stuff* too. But hey, I did enough of that in high school. Every month I buy
Imagine FX, a magazine that gives me a huge amount of inspiration and guidance - if you see it in a magazine stand, buy it, I would thoroughly recommend it.
I'm relatively new to digital art. A few years ago I started using ArtRage, a program that emulates traditional techniques quite well, but still has all the pros of most modern art programs. Before I got into digital art, I used mainly pencils, fine liner pens and sometimes watercolours. Lately, I generally lean toward more realistic styles, though I am capable of doing other styles.
During high school, I'd often do cartoons and comic strips during my free time. At about the age of 14, I began to show an interest in the anime/manga style - simply because I wanted to explore a different way of drawing people (my people at the time were pretty much stick figures with clothes on). A couple of years later I came across an old hard back book of all Da Vinci's works, and decided to study them in more depth. That was when I
really started to learn about good anatomy and realistic shading.
Here are a few pictures I've done recently.

And here are the links to my
Elfwood and
DA galleries.
Feel free to leave comments!Everything I do that is fantasy/sci-fi will eventually find it's way in there. Please say if you don't want your avi art posted in there.
