Okay, I normally do not write in first person. So, this little entry was an experiment. sweatdrop Actually, I just like to write, and I am not expecting this to win. sweatdrop For me, this story is for... blank and giggles... well to me anyway. Takes a while, I hardly remembered what happened in the beginning, so I tried my best. For the fact of not knowing if it was the dust ball or the peelunger. ninja So...sit back and enjoy.

I never thought that it would come to this. My home town was slowly becoming over run by objects that were never alive to begin with. Mother thought that it was a perfect time to have me go over and watch my grandmother. A role with my eyes just seemed to made her angry with me, she always tended to nag me into doing things. I just wanted to stay home and trade information amongst my friends, but mother thought other wise. Now don't get me wrong, I love my grandmother with all my heart. But to me, I have to actually get on a train and head to Barton. Barton! Does anyone even know how far that is from Aekea? Why should I have to go? Why not my older brother? Then again, I always end up doing things that he never wants to.
With a heavy sigh, I was slowly packing my overnight bag. Mumbling a few words under my breath, my phone went off. As usual, it goes off whenever I am busy. Working, studying, during class. As if I am not busy enough. “Raxle are you ready?” My mother called from downstairs. Scrunching my nose up, “Raxle this and Raxle that”. It never fails. A buff of air escaped my lips, causing my multi colored hair out of my eyes. “Raxle?!”
“Yes!” I hollered back. “For once, I would just like to be alone.” I mumbled to myself as I threw my overnight bag over my left arm. Checking my phone, I sighed once more. Of course, it had to be one of my close friends. Then again, she hardly ever left me alone. Another roll of my eyes, I exited my room, and headed downstairs.
“Did you pack everything that you need?” My mother asked, causing me to smile lightly. My mother may get on my nerves, but yet, I always smiled at her. “Your toothbrush, hairbrush, fresh clothing...”
Boy can she go one when it comes to the list of things. “Yes, I have everything that I need,” I replied with a hint of annoyance. My mother paused for a moment, as usual when I tend to become rather bitter towards her. “Ma, don't worry. I have everything packed that I need.”
Of course my mother smiled lightly, as she handed me a train ticket. My contact colored eyes blinked slightly, as I looked at it. Aekea to Barton. Oh I was going to have fun...not.. “Now you must hurry before your train leaves.”
Making a face as I slowly walked out the door, I just could not believe that my mother wanted me to go instead of my own brother. Whom was two years older then myself. Kicking a little rock with my right foot, I continued to make my way towards the train station. Lucky for me, the guards around Aekea kept out the creatures that roamed the grounds. For how long? Not even I can answer that question. At least this little trip to my grandmother's home would keep me out of school. For some odd reason, my attention span when it came to work just isn't there. A small sneeze escaped my lips, causing me to stop for a short period. At night, you can always hear little laughter coming from all directions. One can easily tell that it was not human.
The laughter always seemed to make me shiver a little. It was like the stories that my brother would tell me at night. Odd how one little thing can make one remember things. Ah, the train station. I want to go, but yet at the same time, I don't. But then again, someone has to check up on Grandmother. Go figure that it was me. “For once, I wish that it was my brother that does these things and not me,” I mumbled to myself again.
“Ticket?” Asked a rather buff man inside a ticket booth. I grinned ever so slightly, as I handed the man the purplish ticket. “I see that you are going to Barton. I'd be careful if I were you, that place it pretty dangerous.”
“Isn't it everywhere now?” I asked with a small laugh. The man seemed to laugh as well, as he punched my ticket and handed it back to my person.
“Indeed it is, but I would still be careful.” I nodded my head, as he fixed my overnight bag. The man smiled lightly, as he leaned back in his seat and continued to watch whatever he was watching on the black and white TV. I for one rather listen to music rather then watch TV. So what the man was even watching was beyond me. Another sigh, I slowly began to walk down the steps. I hate stairs, no matter what, I always seemed to either slip or trip on the steps. “All aboard!” Oh man, I was going to miss my train. I have to move quickly, picking up my pace., I jump off of the third step and headed towards the train at full force.
My mother will be angry if I miss the train. It was the last train for the night, no, for the week. If I missed this one, I could just hear her now. No way am I going to get a lecture for not being an adult. Dodging people was something of a trait of mine, ever since middle school, I noticed that I can slip past people and objects in a crowded room. I am rather grateful for it. Oh no, the doors are closing. One by one, the doors were closing, telling others that it was ready to leave. The last cart was still open. I still have a chance!
People around me were blowing kisses, crying and any other embarrassing act that they could do. I made a face, as a woman blew a kiss to a loved one and began to cry. Ugh, as if I needed to see such an act. But yet, I did feel sorry for her, it was either her son or husband that was going off to help fight. Great, the fourth cart from the last was closing. I don't have much time, but I needed to hurry. Now it was the third cart A heavy sigh, and I slipped past two pedestrians that seemed to move slowly about. Man, do I hate slow moving persons, they just seem to make me feel as if I am waiting forever.
My grey colored contact eyes widen, as the fifth cart was slowly closing. A stage dive, and I made it...some what. I looked at my right foot. Of course, it just had to be caught in the door. I heard some snicker, but I never cared what they say about me. I tend to ignore them anyway. A heavy sigh, a nice man slowly walked up to me, and released my foot from the door. “Thanks,” I mumble, as I slowly stood up.
“No problem,” it was a manly voice. I never even bothered to look up at the man. Come to think of it, I hardly look at anyone that I really do not know. I looked at my feet, and noticed that my overnight bag had fallen off my shoulder. Blowing my hair out of my face, I slowly bent down and picked it up. Sure the man had to be nice since he had helped me with my little “foot” problem. But I never seemed to look at him, as I turned right and headed towards the non packed area of the cart.
Coughing, whispering and other things were going on. I looked at my phone and noticed that I had no bars. Great, just when I wanted to talk to my friends, I get not reception on my phone. Joy for me. I should have worn my glasses instead, my contacts were drying out, making the rather uncomfortable. Slowly, people were starting to exit the train. One by one, the carts were becoming emptied. Lights began to flicker off and on, not to mention that I felt a pair of eyes on my person for the last five minutes.
Was I the only person that seemed to be..what was that word again? Amazing? No, that's not it. Or is it? Is sighed lightly, as I looked at my phone for the sixteenth time and still no bars. Some times I think that the gods themselves hated me. Little voices could be heard, as plungers came out of no where. Wait! Plungers?! Mike was right, these plungers looked like plungers and mushrooms at the same time. Now if only I payed any attention to what he was saying. The voices stopped, and little beady eyes looked right at me. Their smiles were, no are hideous. It looked as if they had gunk of some sort within their teeth. Oh, I can not look at the much longer. I quickly stood up, and tried to move, it was as if they mimicked my every move. I quickly jumped over them and headed towards the door towards the fourth cart. They quickly followed me, a man intercepted them and used some sort of object. They seemed to back off a bit. “They are called Peelunger, and they are an animated creature.”
“A pelaung-wha?” I blinked a little, as I looked at the two..er..three. 'Just who is this man?'
The man laughed lightly, as he did something to them. Man, I should start on paying more attention to what is going on around me. “Peelunger, they look like mushrooms and a plunger merged together. A project that has gone astray. They were once ordinary plungers, that is until something horrible went on.” He seemed to hand me a ring that looked like two suns merged together. “Its a solar ring, it will help you. Come, let me show you.”
“Um, I'm actually to get off at Barton, I need to get to my grandmother's home.” The man seemed to laugh again, as he stood in the door way. “Wha-who are you and why did you give me this?”
“That,” he pointed at my hand and grinned. “Is a solar ray ring. This ring blasts a far away enemy with a wave of heat, and the range is pretty long and the damage is decent.” He seemed to smile lightly at me. “How's the foot?”
“Fine,” I mumbled, a few seconds later, my eyes went wide as I looked right at him. “Why are you doing this?” I asked, trying to seem rather furious at him rather than being shocked.
“Barton is far worse than any other town. Not to mention that this is your stop. Raxle, this is a one time opportunity. Help us defeat the animated.”
This was going to be a long night. Hopefully this is just a nightmare. I looked at the man with rather undoubtful look. “Why me?”
“Well, actually you are not the only one that we are recruiting at this givin time.” He smiled, as he held out his hand. “My name is Frank, and I am sure that you will be needing that,” he chuckled lightly, as our hands meet. He pulled me closer to him and whispered in my ear. “There are more behind you.”
With a blink, I turned around, and what do you know. The man was right, there was at least fifteen behind me. I stumbled with the ring that Frank has given me. His laughter ran in my ears and I tried fighting them off. “Good work Raxle, but can you defeat their leader?”
Leader? They had a leader? Man, do I feel like my favorite anime series, the “Samurai Troopers”. If only I had a bow and not a ring. I quickly shook that thought out of my head, I turned and expected Frank to help out. But it seems as if the man was a ghost. I turned back around. Little purple orbs and gold coins scattered the floor. I blinked rapidly, as I pocketed the items and headed out of the train. Ah, a guard. Maybe he can tell me where Frank went. “Excuse me sir?” I asked, rather quietly.
“Ya?” Man if my anime characters are real, he would make a perfect Shu. “Can I help ya miss?”
“Um, yes..” My voice was rather small, as I began to move my right foot back and forth. “I, well, I was wondering where you can tell me which way Frank went.”
“Frank?” He asked, as I nodded my head. “I am sorry to tell ya, but there is no person named Frank whom was on that there train.”
“You're joking right?”
“Naw ma'am. No frank was on the that train. Now, I advise you to be careful here ma'am.” The man stated with a kind smile. “You don't know when 'em animated freaks would be out and roamin about here.”
“Thank you,” I mumbled, as I went to haul my over night bag over...wait...where is my bag? I quickly turned about, and what do you know. The train left with my bag. Oh the gods were truly laughing at me.
