Aria Skysong

PostPosted: Thu Feb 14, 2008 10:42 pm

Sometimes in life, the elven archer required folks to repeat orders multiple times before she bothered to acknowledge them; perhaps a stubborn streak in her remained to make her dig her heels in any time a person bossed her around. But when big, scary monsters appeared out of dead-childrens bodies, Aria did not need to be told to run away twice.

Gripping Clavian's arm, she hauled him along with her as she sprinted for the portal that stood open behind the scary-woman with the pins of rank on her coat. Frantic, she looked over at Smiley, put her fingers between her lips and whistled as loud as she could in three sharp bursts. The signal meant an emergency, and she prayed the troll would listen; this was no time for her to have to persuade him.

As she approached Connor, where he stood after his magnificent smack-down at the hands of the Captain, Aria gave him a little push towards the portal also. She plastered a cheery smile on; you know, just to keep up morale.

"You heard the scary lady! Into the portal, boys, let's not argue!"

Ushering them along, she turned to see if Smiley was coming.

Gramath after finnaly being free from his prison couldnt be disapointed in anything even the fact that his arm wasnt fully restored.
"Ah its good to feel the winds of the mortal realm upon my face shortly before they are lit ablaze."
As he said this he raised his normal arm into the air as a small orb of fire started to from. As it grew bigger his face darkened as if realizing something dark.
"You can't be serious." he said as he brought his hand down and stared at it the orb dissipating. "Only fifteen percent normal strength thats not fun... might as well steal something then." he raises his hand back into the air as the sky seems to light up in runes and glyphs. as this happens a loud booming voice echos throughout the city.
"Vault of the Gods, level 1 access, identity confermed, Gramath, item withdrawn, Sword of Three Souls." after this a bright light shoots from teh center of these runes and down into Gramath's skeletal hand. The sword looked like something out of a paladin story, the fact that this being could even handle this weapon is frightening(sp?).
"A bit too holy for my taste lets see what we can work with." at this statement the sword started to burn black fire and Gramath looked around starting to realize there were people. One thing he took more notice of that everything else. The Averiels sword. As the flames left the sword Gramath dashed at Damien aiming for a critical strike at his neck beign stoped just milimeters away by some wooden stick being pressed aganst his head. he found he couldnt move at all save his face so he turned to look at where teh stick came from saying
"How?!"

Fizbang ariving just in time to put a stop to Gramaths attack had reacted very instinctivly not even knowiung who either man was. but gramath he knew something about he could feel it, like a deep hatred. somethign came to the surface of his mind on how he knew Gramath and he spoke it without delay.
"I dont knwo who you are or of your quarrel with this man but there is one thing I DO know......you owe me money." As he said this he removed the tip of his staff off of Gramaths head, spins around and using it as a bat hammers gramaths stomach and sends him fifty feet down the road gramath landing on his back doesnt seem to be moving.

Conner started to run towards the portal but felt a chill go down his spine. He stopped and looked around. In his head he could hear a voice say "Going so soon, elf?..." Conner kept looking around but stopped with a shocked look on his face and clenched his chest in pain "DAMN!!!" he yelled, who ever was talking to him must be doing this! Everything was growing dark for Conner, he was on the ground and couldn't move, he just lied there with his eyes half open thinking "Th....This...Is it...Isn't it...Heh...I honestly never thought it'd end like this..." he smiled a little and closed his eyes "Well...It's...Been a good life I supose..." ((No he isn't dead, not yet any way...You uh...May wunna take him with you or he could die. sweatdrop ))

Xanmorn Laughed as the guardsmen came towards him "What did I do?" asked as the cursed tossed the knife up in the air he grabbed a guard by the wrist and flipped him over his shoulder and slammed his back on the cobble stone ground then turned to the other guards and caught the kind by the handle on it's way down "Any else?" he asked before turning and walking back to his bread shop.

Taking advantage of the distraction, the Captain knelt beside the elf boy, pulled his arm over her shoulders and hauled him to his feet. The old man must be a fool, but there was nothing now she could do for him; though it killed her inside, she abandoned him to save those she knew she still could. Running for the portal, she half-carried, half-dragged the boy along; reaching it, she removed his arm from her shoulders and unceremoniously pushed him through so that he disappeared into the light. Tarma offered a soft prayer for his well-being, and promised herself she'd apologize for the rough treatment later.

Turning, she began shoving the other's through. First went the old man with the stick; then the elf woman; any attempt to shove the troll would have been pointless, but luckily he seemed willing to follow his companion into the light.

Her head shot around, assessing the scene even as she reached out to grab Damien's arm again. There was a note of desperation in her tone and in her face, something that the usually self-possessed Captain had never shown him. It softened her hard expression into one that was earnest and pleading.

"Damien, please! Come on!"

Damien having regained his composure stood firm, and looked once at tarma something in his eyes said he wasnt running away.

The old man was stunned, how did he manage to knock someone back that far with his staff alone. If only his memory wasnt failing. "I do say that looked like it hurt." Fizbang said looking at damien. "Do you think he'll stand?"

Gramath slowly stood up, pure fury erupting from his eyes. there was something about this old man he couldnt put his finger on but whatever it was the geezer was powerfull. Best not to take chances. He raised his skeletal arm and pointed one finger at the old man and shot a ray. unfortunatly Fizbang was looking away at teh moment and teh ray hit him square in the chest. the force was enought o knock him down leaving only the Avierel left standing before him.

Damien looked back just in time to see the old man that saved his life get kocked flat my some spell. at this he stared at Gramath with new fury. "Its time i reswore my oath." he said barly auidable over the panic in the streets. "I stand ready now, as I ever will, against the coming of the Dark. I swear my blood, heart, and blade to the land of Aleron. It's people are my people; it's survival is my survival; it's prosperity is my prosperity. I stand guard against all evils, be they from within or abroad. By my Honor, I stand ready. Blessed Be Aleron in the eyes of the Gods." As he finished speaking both combatants dashed at eachother, blades coliding with magical feedbacks resounding throughout the entire city. they exchanged a few blows but Damien being outmatched and already tired from his previous combat was steadily failing.

"Youre not half bad bird," said gramath " but nowhere neer good enough to be worthy of that blade." upon stating this gramath preformed a final feint that damien fell for enabling gramath to strike him through teh back just to the left of his spine. the sword going clean through, was a gruesome sight the blood seemed to be swallowed by teh blade as it was removed and teh crippled fighter colapsed. "This world will be mine, and your petty oaths wont change that. XANMORN! your cover is nolonger needed return to the fortress imediatly!" he yelled at the baker. when out of nowhere a white orb of fire came and hit gramath on teh side of his head, teh sorce seemed to be the old man recovered from what should have been a leathal spell. the after affects were drastic. Gramath on his knee coughing up blood his flesh arm completly limp. "You heard me Xanmorn. Let us leave this wretched city today." as he finished this a dark portal opened behind him as he stepped through vanishing from sight.

Fizbang somehow surviving a ray to his chest stood up as if it was a glancing blow, he walked over to teh wounded avriel and picked him up like an old sack. carrying damien he walked over to where tarma was near the portal. he was estatic that his spell was that effective, especialy sence he didnt know he could cast it, nor how he did. "Bloody ruffianns always tryin to mess with the old guy well i shoed him a thing or two. isnt that right young ma'am." he said foolheartidly.

"I...yes. Thank you."

Stunned, the soldier fell back on the only thing she felt she could do effectively at the moment and stepped forward to touch a hand to Damien's limp form as she examined him visually to assure herself that he was still alive. Glancing back at the square, Tarma was uncertain whether to be relieved at their luck, or apprehensive knowing that this was in no way the last they had seen of Gramath. She looked at the old man...the mage, he must be...then nodded to the portal.

"If you will, sir, we have allies on the other side who can heal him."

"Well thats good news this man here put up a good fight. By the way where does the transdimensional teleportation gateway lead to? id like to know before i step in, wouldnt want to wind up underwater without proper preperations." at this he thinks for a moment. "Were not underwater are we?" he seemed concerned and completly serious.

The Captain looked the old man in the eye, her expression dead-pan. It took some effort, but she kept both sarcasm and humor from her tone when she spoke to him, all the while gently nudging him towards the portal.

"You'll find the White Tower lies on the other end. And no, it is not underwater."
PostPosted: Sat Feb 16, 2008 1:22 am

"Ill hold my breath just in case." the old man grabs his nose with a free hand and jumps through teh portal as if he was jumping into a pool of water. it was hard to tell if the old man was just funny, orr actually insane.

The Troll morned the loss of frisby but if his pet thought something was important enough to attempt to order him around, The troll felt that it might be important enough to listen. He made his way for the strange glowing thing that everyone else fled too. Smiley was pretty certain he could handle anything what with the regen ability that was a troll birth right. But It was best sometimes to avoid a fight, besides the monster was hungry and perhaps there was yum yums on the other side of the strange glowy thing. Smiley moved with the grace of a freght train in a china shop anything and everything in his way, including shop keeps, carts, innocent bystanders or large scary things, would be run over, smashed, hacked at or made dead in that order.

Conner flew through the portal still huddled in pain holding his chest on the ground. Somthing was going on, because lets face it, no one randomly falls over dieing without a cause, though this cause was no mear heart attack, or heart problem...Some one did this to Conner and wished him ill. He hears the voice again saying "Conner...Your elven god awaits you...Follow your false religion and burn for eturnity." Put on a building a dark figure in a robe hiding his face and body stands on a building watching the fight with Gramath. "Suthlarth Noray Mokola" he whispers and he teleports down behind the Captain. Each step he took it oddly sounded like bones creaking and his face was revealed a little more, his eyes were not in the sockets, and he had a black hole ehre his nose should be...An undead no doubt.

Tarma leaped through on the troll's heels, and the portal sealed behind her. The robed figure was left behind, unnoticed...for now.

The robed man crossed his arms. "Oh dear...It looks like I've lost them" he said in a rhaspy voice "At least the elf boy's time is nearly up..." then he cackled manicaly.
Conner had gained a bit more strength and tried to crawl to a safer place to find help. It felt like his heart weighed a ton and was ready to burst. He thought while he was crawlking 'I-I can't die...I havn't had a good wine or a fresh fish today at all!' his stomach growled loudly from not eating...Or at least not for an hour.

The guards stood back the did not expect the baker to be so strong or work for the guy and just ran away not wanting to get caught up in all of this.

Xanmorn picked up the pace and ravaged his bakery to find his armor and halberd. He looked around and found his armor in the closet of his room and donned it looking like he was wearing a black trashcan and large black gauntlets carrying his long halberd and was teleported to the Citadel of Cataclysm
