"Hmm..." Rit was deep in thought about nothing in particular. Life was more interesting lately, she had noticed, and Rit rather liked it that way. She muttered a bit to herself.
After a long pause, Rit suddenly sat bolt upright and asked her friends a question. "What'd you like, do before you came to the academy?"

Rit smiled sadly, a faraway look in her eye. "I traveled also, but not the way you think. I drifted about various towns in the shadows and never really had a job, unless you can count being apprenticed to an assasin/bounty hunter for four years." The past was something she seldom talked or thought about, looking to the future was her motto, but stirring memories threatened to resurface.

As [AC]Death was mimicking the signs in his book, he couldn't overhear what the others where going through. Just then he closed his book and pointed his fingers then making a hand sign locking it to only open for him. After he did this he began to remember things from his past and seeing things of his future......and somehow looked a little disturbed in a way.

Rit was finding it too hard to control the torrent of memories flooding back to her to look at [AC]Death, or to see anything else for that matter. A dim hotel room, huddled forms...a child sobbing...a mother holding the child.She covered her ears to muffle the sound, to stop it. Two men in the center of the room...one raising his hands and making a justu sign, flames appearing...the other laughing, drawing an assassin's sword, slashing out at him to screams from the children and woman...Rit's snapped her eyes shut, as she tried to shut her past away again, but to no avail. A lone girl standing in the doorway like a shadow, unnoticed by all except for the assassin. She wore nothing but black, her auburn hair only a faint hightlight on her midnight cloak. Anger and hurt were in her eyes. At a sign from the assassin, she pulled out a bow, and using fire justu, lit an arrow, and took aim...
"No!" Rit was standing up at her table with the effort to forget her past. "No..." She stared at Cirque, remembering, and wondering if she remembered that day.

She didn't see me that night...I guess no one did except for 'Sensei'.
Rit sat up again, shaken by her memories. She pretended to not have done anything out of the ordinary.
"No...um...NO! I DON'T HAVE ANY TEA LEFT!" Rit said, waving an empty Starbucks cup. She spun around with a flourish and ran to the counter. She leaned against it, and waited.

Tell it to go away, Nin. Tell my past to leave me and never return. I want to stop hurting people... Rit thought when Nin appeared. She sunk to the floor and sat, crosslegged.
"Nothing's going on..." Rit murmered. "Nothing..."

Rit got up from where she was sitting on the floor and walked over to Chris. Still rather shaky, she leaned against a wall and brushed her hair out of her eyes.
"What?" She asked.

Rit's keen ears overheard Cirque. "I AM NOT!" She shouted indignantly. "if only you knew, you little..." She let a tumble of inentelligible language be muttered under her breath before turning back to Chris.
