Guards Olin & Maya
Olin the guard would run up, panting a bit. "What's going on up here? That farm girl just raced past me into town! I had no idea her fat old horse could go so fast!"
As he approached cautiously, Maya would fill him in: "They found this chest under the tree stump that was stuck, but when that guy--" and here she pointed at Rhaun--"picked it up, it went haywire. Green ghost things that looked just like him came out and attacked, but we were able to destroy them. Some of these gems broke when we did, though."
Olin, very cautiously, would lean close to peer at the chest. "Maya, those broken gems... Look, don't they seem kind of familiar to you?" The two guards would exchange a look. "You're right," Maya would say. "It's just like with Davey."
Olin would look at Rhaun, shooing him back with his hand. "Your metal friend's right. No one should mess with this thing, at least until Justiciar Rustbeard gets here. Put that rope away."

Guards Olin & Maya
"This is bigger than the pig!" Maya would splutter, before being surprised by Guards the Door's knowledge. Both Maya and Olin would stare at him, temporarily lost for words.
Then Olin would say, "That's... that's right. He's still the mayor, just, you know, really sick right now, so the Justiciar is in charge until he gets better. But it's not foul play, he just ate a weird mushroom."
Maya would look more closely at the gems in the chest. "Well, we think it was a mushroom. Olin and I found him when he went missing after a walk in the woods, and there were mushrooms all around him. He used to pick mushrooms a lot. Anyway he was really out of it when we found him--couldn't talk, couldn't keep his balance and he was staring all wide eyed--so we carried him over to Mrs. Snowscale. She went with him to Shining Tree and I haven't heard anything about him since."
"And," Olin would interject, in response to Rhaun's question, "he had an amulet on with a gem just like these ones here--dark and shattered. I'd never seen him wearing it before. I remember thinking he looked ridiculous wearing something that was broken like that. But now I'm thinking maybe it wasn't like that when he put it on."
((Yep, no more Bahl.))

Cymbre the Black
Cymbre would put her hand to her chin and listen to what everybody was saying, her expression locked in thought. "Hmm...I see...that would mean then..." She would look like she was seriously thinking for a moment or so longer before letting out a loud yawn. "Actually I have no clue, nor do I really care that much. We are just waiting around Ol' Rustbeard now, right?"
Cymbre would walk over and an plop down on the nearby handcart, causing it to groan under her weight. "Let me know when he gets here, otherwise I'm going to take a nap." Cymbre would then roll over and look at the party, casting a mischievous grin. "Or, you know, I could try touching the chest next. I always thought it would be interesting to try and fight someone equal to myself. I wonder how you all would fare against me, hehe."

Ron would take a moment to center his thoughts, spend two of his healing surges and wait for the group's Encounter powers to renew. Before he gave Cymbre a reluctant nod (wishing he had his armor). Turning to the two guards, "Sadly, the well-being of your Mayor is not within our standing orders. Currently, they are 'to aid with farming, land clearing, and pest control.' And I fear the chest is a pest, it is currently an inhibiting farm work. And we will need to see that it is cleared from this land. We have seen what touching has done, and you deny the use of a rope... We have no other choice than to smash it to pieces. Afterward, we can think about sending those pieces to Dryden."
Finally turning to Guard, "If you disagree, you are free to sit this one out. I will not record it in my log."
(Hit Points 52/52 Healing Surges Remaining 7 )

Guard Olin Emsworth
"You don't need to worry about him," Olin would say. "He's got way more healers dedicated to him in Shining Tree than we'll ever have here. And look, you guys, just wait until the Justiciar gets here before you touch anything or smash anything! Gods, you're so impatient."
Justiciar Rustbeard
As Olin is talking, the sounds of a horse's hooves can be heard getting closer. It's not long before Autumn returns on her horse, followed by two others--Rustbeard, and the man in Rustbeard's office whom had been seen before, writing. Autumn moves her horse off to the side of the field, red faced and trembling. She watches silently.
Rustbeard would swing himself down clumsily (it was a long way down) and then would approach the chest cautiously. "You've found something, eh?" he would say to the gathered adventurers. Looking them over as they were patching themselves up, he would laugh, relieved. "Good, you came through all right! After what Autumn told me, I was worried. But I knew you were tough! Oh, ahem, allow me to introduce you to my colleague, Mr. Henderson."
Mr. Henderson
He would gesture at the other rider, a thin, pale young man who was squinting through the bright sunlight as if wholly unused to it. This man, evidently Mr. Henderson, would dismount and walk quickly towards the chest, carrying a large pack and a very long pole.
Without a word, he would poke the chest with the pole. Nothing happens. Satisfied, he would squat down, set down his pole, and open up his pack, pulling out a large, thick tarp, which he would quickly throw over the chest. "Mr. Rustbeard, if you would--" he would say, and set himself about covering the chest as best he could, taking obvious care not to touch it. Rustbeard would look at him, surprised, but come over to help get the tarp around the chest. The guards would hang back, clearly unsure of what to do.
