"To be fair," Ely started softly running a hand through her hair, matching Sloane's movements for a moment before sighing."I didn't give you much of a choice." Ely admitted, back then she would have done anything to get Sloane to give her attention.

"You gave me the chance to avoid all of this." Ely didn't want to say aloud that she had ignored every warning because she had wanted Sloane so badly, she was sure that was obvious.

"Beanpo- Juno is the same way." Ely mumbled. "Well not really, I wanted you, and I still care for you. But she's infatuated with you. I think she might actually be in love with you. I've seen the way she looks at you, the way she acts around you."

Ely laughed again, shaking her head. "I've also see the way you've changed. I think it wouldn't be unfair to assume your feelings mirror hers." Ely nodded, and sat up in her bed, and reached over for the crumpled papers, thumbing threw them.

"So what are you going to do?"

                                                                SLOANE MADDEN
THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.

Sloane frowned, unable to tease apart the conflicting emotions enveloping her. Juno might love her? Sloane wanted to be happy, be free to be happy, but she felt only scared. No matter how angry Ely had been when she had called Sloane toxic, Sloane couldn't help thinking that she was right. Juno could get hurt, just the way Ely was hurting--or worse. Sloane wasn't so full of herself that she thought Juno would end up with an irreparably broken heart; her thrill-seeking tendencies, the crowds she immersed herself in, all of it complicated things. And then Ely suggested that Sloane felt the same way about Juno.

Still looking out of the window, Sloane sighed. "I don't know," she said honestly, her voice soft, still. She turned to look at Ely. "But you were right. I'm being careless. I think I need to end it."

"Heh." Ely chuckled giving a little snort. Maybe Sloane should just end it? Where had she heard that before.

"I'd like to see that. Something tells me Juno isn't just going to let you go, I don't think you've ever had someone just let you go." Ely mumbled. She knew how it'd be, could see it playing before her eyes. Juno didn't have Ely's resources. She couldn't manipulate people like Ely she couldn't formulate long term goals to try and get Sloane back like Ely had.

All Juno had was the short term, and the proximity. She could see it now. Juno begging Sloane not to leave her, begging to be made to understand. "This is so ******** tragic." Ely said with a sigh, sitting back on her hands.

"You know what I think?" Ely asked rhetorically. "You should do what makes you happiest, and not what makes you logical, that's what being young is all about right?" Really, Ely didn't care if Juno ended up heartbroken or not, but if the two of them had to break up, and Ely couldn't have Sloane in the end, she'd rather not ******** have their tarnished relationship on her hands.

(I think Sloane may be my angstiest character yet lol)

It was funny how quickly things had turned. Just a second ago, Sloane was on the verge of wringing Ely's neck. Now, Ely was giving Sloane relationship advice, and that advice was to choose happiness. It sounded nice, didn't it. Most things did in theory. But how would that play out? Then again, if Sloane really did end it, that option didn't provide a clean break, either.

Sloane was tired. She needed to not think about this anymore, even if just for a second. "I'll keep that in mind," she said, walking closer to the bed. "So, are we done?" Her expression was pointed, suggesting that she was asking if Ely was done with her antics.

Ely had said her piece given Sloane all of the advice that she had to give, now it was up to the fighter to figure it out on her own Ely figured she would make the right choice, after all there really was only one choice that Ely could think of that would be the correct one, any other was just giving up. Sloane wasn't a quitter.

She thought Sloane was heading out but instead the girl stopped and gave her a look asking a final question. Ely shrugged, she was done she figured, but she'd still be around, she had some words for Juno after all, but they wouldn't be of the threatening type this time around. "Yea, I'm done. No worries." Ely said easily. She wouldn't tell Sloane what she had planned she knew the girl wouldn't like it.

(Juno is prolly my most demure character. She is literally terrified of Ely.)

Sloane felt like she was missing something, something potentially important, but she no longer had energy to use on Ely. She needed to get out of there, to recooperate. So she turned and left, and she returned to Juno's room. She knocked on the door to announce herself, then walked inside. "You won't have to worry about Ely anymore," she said to Juno, expression calm, neutral. That was all of the information she gave before turning and heading out again.

(We are writers, we have the vastiest of imaginations, imagine that the pic is Sloane, it's close enough!!)

Juno hadn't remembered a time that she had ever worked so feverishly on a project, but she felt that this needed to be finished, as though if she didn't get it onto paper as quickly as she could it would somehow leave her and that she wouldn't never be able to summon it back into her mind.

Not too long ago, Sloane had said to Juno that she hoped everyone saw Sloane the way Juno did. That was wrong, the sketches in her pad, the almost perverted lines didn't do Sloane justice, Juno had been infatuated with her that was true, and her sketchbook showed that. But now it was different, Sloane was more than just a distance star the brightened the sky.

Sloane was her ******** sun. She needed to explain that to her, explain that Sloane was the brightest thing in her eyes. But her words always failed her, so her art would have to do.

There was a knock on her door, and Juno turned, her tongue was heavy and she was unable to answer. The knock had shook her from her trance and now she remembered what had been happening around her and that Sloane had went to fight for her honor.

When the door opened, Juno stood watching as Sloane figure appeared in the door way. She had so much she wanted to say, firstly she wanted to drop to her knees and apologize, beg for forgiveness. She had tried to hide something from Sloane, something very important, and she had failed her. Juno didn't get the chance, she didn't even get the chance to move, before Sloane informed her that Ely had been taken care of and than she promptly turned and exited Juno's room.

For a moment Juno was frozen, unsure of what had just happened. Old Juno would have stayed from like that before sitting back down and letting Sloane walk away from her, she wasn't old Juno anymore.

She bolted forward towards the door before skidding to a halt, turning and reaching for her pad, ripping the drawing she had been working on out of the pad effortlessly, before running again, banging her knee on the stool and knocking it over on the way out, she was moving with a bit of a limp now.

She didn't call out to Sloane as she closed in on her, she just wrapped her in a hug from behind and buried her face into her back. Squeezing her tightly and refusing to let her go. She was breathing deeply and her heart was pounding rapidly in her chest, but it had nothing to do with her brief run.

"I'm sorry. Juno said instantly admitting her wrong. "I hid what Ely had done from you, and I know I shouldn't have but I was afraid of all the possibilities and ... I don't want you to feel like I don't trust you. I do, I was just stupid. Please forgive me." Juno begged. In this moment she was willing to do anything Sloane said if it meant forgiveness. If Sloane completely changed, became the villain, showed to her all the things she had warned Juno about. Demanded she strip her clothes and give Sloane her body and her soul. Juno would do it. It wouldn't even take half a thought.

"I made this for you. I want you to know how I truly see you, it is in this picture, and not those images in my sketchbook.

The moment Juno held her from behind and began apologizing, Sloane froze, her eyes wide. Juno was sorry? What did she have to be sorry for? Nothing. Not a thing. But here she was, embracing Sloane in the tightest hug, her heart pounding against Sloane's back. And then Juno gave her a picture, a drawing of Sloane, and Sloane... she nearly lost it.

All she could do was stare at the drawing. Her face was red and warm. "J-Juno," she stuttered, uncharacteristically speechless. "I'm the one who should be sorry. I didn't make good on my promise. I didn't protect you."

"I don't care."

Juno exclaimed adamantly and she meant it. She had told Sloane she was afraid, because Ely had terrified her that much was true, but she didn't care about that anymore. She wasn't afraid of Ely anymore... okay maybe that wasn't true, but she wasn't so afraid that she would let her fear ruin something that she wanted so badly.

"It is unfair to expect you to be able to be there to stop everything Sloane."

Juno wanted Sloane to know that anything Sloane felt she had done wrong was trivial that Juno wanted her, Sloane as a person more than she wanted or needed her protected.

She could see the emotion on Sloane in her flushed cheeks and she could hear it in her voice, Juno wondered if Sloane was going to cry, she didn't think she would be able to handle it if her warrior were to cry in front of her, Juno didn't know if she'd be able to be strong for her.

"Come with me." Juno took Sloane's hands urging the girl to come back to her room with her. Sloane wanted her to be more assertive this was as close to a command as Juno could get. "Let's just go back to my room, we can talk about anything you want or need to get off your chest, any failures you feel you have we can talk about them, and I promise no matter what they are I will forgive you for them."

Juno was said anything if it meant that Sloane wouldn't walk away from her right now.

Maybe Sloane couldn't protect Juno from everything, but she should have been able to at least protect her from this, from Ely. When Juno took her hands and began leading her back into the room, saying they could talk about anything Sloane wanted--her failures, her burdens, anything--Sloane swore her heart skipped a beat. s**t, Ely had been right. If Sloane decided to end things with Juno, Sloane might just be the one most heartbroken.

Sloane let Juno lead her into the room, but she stopped her before they could sit down. Squeezing Juno's hands, she kissed the backs. "No, Juno, that's... that's really not necessary." Sloane smiled and sighed softly. "But that you would even offer, that means more to me than you could know." Taking Juno's cheek in one hand, Sloane leaned in and kissed her.

Juno felt that she had won something honestly. It felt like she was reeling it back in, pulling their relationship out of the water just before it was lost at sea forever.

She knew that if Sloane wanted to pull away she could, and Juno knew she wasn't strong enough physically or mentally to be able to pull her back. Sloane came at the behest of Juno because she wanted to and not because Juno was forcing her to. It said a lot, maybe she was conflicted. Juno wondered what had happened with Ely that had cause Sloane to feel this way or was failure to protect Juno really hurting her this much.

If it was the latter, Juno didn't have words for how sweet it was,

Nor did she have words for how much she truly adored the woman before her. Juno felt Sloane kissing the backs of her hands and took them as a thanks even as Sloane turned down her offer. Sloane didn't strike her as the type to pour out her feelings so Juno wasn't exactly surprised by that. But she was surprised by the kiss that followed Sloane sentiment. Not surprised enough to forget to participate however. She wrapped her arms around her and subtly pulled her closer, not releasing the girl even when they parted from their kiss.

"I'll do anything for you." Juno said honestly. "You are my favorite person. The best thing that's happened to me in years." Juno ducked down a bit and rested her chin on Sloane's shoulder.

"I don't ever want to see you upset, or feeling like you've failed me."

A few options floated around in her head, but none of them seemed good enough--none of them seemed good at all. She stood in silence, holding Juno, hating herself for losing her mind so completely in this moment. Finally, an idea popped into her head.

"Juno, I want you to be at my next race. I want you to... to see me in my element."

At the mention of a race, the thought of being in the passenger seat of Sloane's care was back fresh in Juno's ind, and that had been a rather terrifying experience for her. But the thought of turning down the request never came to Juno's mind. This was progress as far as she was concerned. There would be no more walking away and therefore no more panic.

"Alright, so now to keep track. You want to model for me, you want me to be more confident and you want me to see your race." Juno nodded smirking, keeping tract of the very few request that Sloane had asked of her.
