==== ☠ ====Jɨą §ɨ==== ☠ ==== I wish that this night would never be over Forget about the sunrise

The tide of the battle had turned. Azar was on the run, but then again winning had never been Jia's intention. Her focus was on not loosing what was left of the brother she loved. She felt Nanzu begin another attack when Azar was swept up by a very interesting being. It wasn't the shape that was unusual it was the shield it wrapped around itself and Azar. When Nanzu's attack made contact both he and Jia were flooded by images and emotions. The siblings cried out in tandem but it shocked them a bit out of rhythm.
Jia watched the memories as they flashed by. The story of a small girl and her parents and the nightmare the girl's life had become. The story wasn't uncommon, nor was it exclusive to the realists. Instinctively Jia raised a memory of her own. The scene was a picnic in a sprawling green field with her mother, father and brother, happy and whole. Nanzu's smile was pure as they chased each other across the field. That had been a staggering 14 years ago, before everything fell apart. The girl was young, so terribly young to be facing the world that was Jia's reality. She pushed the shield's influence back and out of her and Nanzu's minds using her own memories to echo the girls. She couldn't break the shield, nor was she inclined to.
Jia collapsed next to Nanzu and looked at her brother's tear stained face. He was searching for whoever was behind the shield. Jia just grabbed his hands. "Nanzu, you've done enough." She glanced at Azar then back to Nanzu. "I want to go home. Please?" she pleaded. She let her emotions shine in her eyes. She hoped that he would bend to her request, but if he wouldn't stop fighting then she would do whatever it took to protect him. In a slightly morbid thought, Jia was willing to bet that if she died, Nanzu would tear down the network with his bare hands. Everything her father worked for would be gone, but there would be no more little girls abandoned for false dreams.

There was movement. The dreamscape shifted and so did reality. Jia's realized she was somehow half awake. She was walking with Nanzu in the real world and also standing next to him in the dream world. It must be a side affect of the sync. For the moment Jia was sharing Nanzu's ability to day dream. The effect was thankfully fading, but it let her be aware of how upset her brother was. She tried to tell those coming to help to just stay back but her voice didn't sound.
The side effects faded just in time for her to fully hear him crying and clinging to her. She leaned down and pet his hair with soothing strokes. "I'm not going anywhere, Nanzu." She leaned farther and hugged him as best she could until he let got of her skirt. Whispering calming words she shifted slowly to a more comfortable position. She wasn't sure how she managed it, but they ended up curled against one another on the floor. "I won't leave." she spoke again, "You are my one and only brother and nothing will ever change that." She held him and just listened to his breathing and the sound of the falling tears. This was her brother. The confused and broken little boy searching for the love he lost. She wished, not for the first time, that the world would just leave them alone if only for a while.
Naturally, that was when Jia heard the door swing open and the click of polished heels on the tile. She glanced up and met the very familiar glaring eyes of her father. Nanzu got his height from his father. Chang Si towered over the two and looked down on them like so much grime on his polished shoes. "Why is it that I have to hear of a Realist attack from a low ranking Weaver instead of my best agents?" His voice seemed calm on the surface, but Jia knew her father better than that. The disappointment was almost tangible in the air. She made a slight move to stand only to be stopped as her father raised a hand. "No, don't bother. I wouldn't want to impose." He lowered his hand and looked over them before turning his back on the siblings and straitening some imaginary folds in his suit. "As usual, I will take care of the mess that's been made. I expect you both back at your posts within the hour, is that clear?" With that he made to exit the room. Jia closed her eyes and tried not to cry. It wouldn't do any good, and would only wear her out further.
It took her a moment to realize the footsteps had stopped. Looking up again she met her father's eyes and for once he did nothing to hide the disgust in his features. "Father, I--" she stopped when his glare only intensified. "If you can't do your job, I will find someone else who can." Chang Si's voice made the statement into a dire threat. The kind of thing that promised unspeakable tortures if it was not obeyed. Then the door was slammed shut, cutting off the gaze from it's recipients. Staring at the closed door, Jia wondered if her father had ever really loved them or if it was just so corrupted that it was indistinguishable. She waited as long as she could holding tightly to Nanzu, but when the hour she had been granted was up she gently pulled away. She kissed her brother's forehead and as she left she smiled sadly at Nanzu. "I'm sorry, Brother, but I have to go. I'll see you later, okay?" Back into the viper pit she went, her brief reprieve gone.

T y a xx J u n e xx R i c h a r d s
Not superhuman (I'm not superhuman) Someone save me from the H A T E It's just another W A R Just another family torn
(We're falling from our faith today) Just a S T E P from the edge Just another day in the W O R L D we live
Her system was over exerted within the dream and in the real world. Nanzu was strong and as he panicked the dreamscape was shaken and the systems were rattle. Tya's body rebelled the attack and she began running a fever. Her little chest rising and falling like the heartbeat of a mouse. Her skin was burning and cold sweat began running down her cheeks. The cold touch pulled her awake even faster and she opened half lidded eyes. "Pa...pa..." She whispered weakly and reached up a small hand which was quickly engulfed in Azar's large one.
Tya was helped back into her wheel chair and given some medicine. The weaver talked to Azar for a moment, telling him that she would need to eat and get a drink. They told him to go ahead and do it, but afterwards there was another assignment. Tya was shocked, they never sent someone in twice that quickly unless it was serious. She wanted to ask about it, but the weaver shook his head at her.
------------Two Days Later------------
Azar had gone on his mission two days ago. It had been an actual physical mission, but he hadn't come back and he hadn't reported back in. Tya had gone into the dreamscape seven times until she couldn't go anymore without it being fatal. Everyone told her not to worry. They said he'd be back in no time, but Tya knew the truth. They were lying to her to make her feel better. It wasn't working. No one would help her in the realists, so Tya came up with a better idea.
DreamCo's main building was large and spacious. She was terrified, but luckily no one recognized her. The benefit of having another form in the dreamscape. Plus no one would suspect such a young girl of being a realist. The ladies at the desk talked to her and got what information they needed. Tya was by herself today, she'd made it all the way here on her own. She was determined to find someone who would help her, and she knew the perfect person. How did she know? Because there had been talk about the Day Dreamer missing as well. No one had sensed him, seen him, heard from him, in two days as well. This worried Tya more and she knew someone else who would be worried about this.
"I'll only let Jia Si be my weaver. No one else. It's for my own health safety." Tya insisted and was shown to a consultant room where she was told to wait for Jia to come. Tya was worried of course that this would backfire. Yet, she had a feeling that Jia would be more interested in finding her brother.
Now that she was in DreamCo she was apalled by how many dreamers there were. She felt an overwhelming sense of sadness and pain. She had to wipe tears from her eyes. Then again, Tya had been able to track Azar a little bit. She had an idea of where he was, or at least in the dreamscape. He was there, but she couldn't access that area. Thus why she needed Jia.

Two days. Two long, horrible days where the only reprieve was passing out from exhaustion. Nanzu had been sent on what her father called an "extended mission". Jia had only had a spare moment to see her brother off, but even then there was a nagging sense of something wrong. Like she was saying goodbye for the very last time.
She hadn't heard from him since. Father told her it was because his mission required radio silence, but she knew her brother better than that. Through the dream scape there was always a faint bond, like a lifeline, that held between them even when Nanzu was halfway across the planet. Not long after Nanzu had left for his mission she had felt that bond stretch thin and snap. She had spent every moment she could spare to trying to find him.
Jia didn't want to think this of her father, but she suspected he was lying to her about what had happened to her brother. She wondered if the CEO of DreamCo. hadn't locked up the Daydreamer as a danger, or worse, killed him. There was little evidence either way, and Jia's only shot at finding the truth was to keep a low profile and her eyes and ears open.
When she passed the Weaver dispatch desk and received her assignments like normal, she was surprised to see only one file in her inbox. But understanding dawned on her when she saw it was a first time dreamer. DreamCo. employed a long consultation phase so that the Weavers could provide the best experience possible. Jia hardly ever handled this phase herself, but there was a note that she had been requested specifically for medical reasons. She walked to the assigned room unsure of what to expect. She certainly never would have expected the sight that greeted her.
There was a very familiar little girl that looked up as Jia walked in. Though she had only seen the girl in the dreamscape, Jia knew very well who this girl was. "So..." Jia did a double take and glanced down at her chart and more specifically at the name written. "Tya. I'm here, as you requested." She walked closer and sat in one of the chairs in the room. She knew very well that this could be a trap, but she didn't think Azar knew the girl was here. Azar was many things, but he was not the type to send a little girl somewhere in his place. "We have plenty of time before anyone suspects anything so why don't you tell me why you are really here?"

Of all the things Jia expected Tya to say, it wasn't this. Several seconds passed as a rainbow of emotion fluttered over her face. Tya's rendition of Azar's mission and subsequent disappearance matched up with what had happened to Nanzu in a way that made a painful amount of sense. And really, if she was honest, she wouldn't put it past her father to kidnap a realist. But why? What was the goal in such an action? And what did it have to do with Nanzu?
The million dollar question was what was she going to DO about it. Could she live with herself if she did what she was strictly supposed to do and turn Tya in as a realist? No. The girl had a point. The only place Jia hadn't looked in the dream network was the core. Which happened to be in her father's office. Jia sighed. "I appreciate how far you are willing to go for someone you care for. Allow me to confirm things from this side before we proceed any farther. I promise on my honor that I will not raise an alarm in this attempt." Hopefully that was enough to get Tya to remain calm, even if she didn't trust Jia one bit.
Sitting down at the room's terminal she called up the program used to monitor the more mechanical side of the dream network. The actual maintenance was handled by others, but weavers had access and authority to adjust things such as the power level of the machines that held dreamers in sleep. Through these channels Jia used her administrative code to initiate a scan of the network power levels. Precious moments ticked past as the computer worked but finally the results were displayed. A large amount of power was being shunted directly from the core to some kind of containment field. A field that was not there three days ago at the time of the last system scan. Looking at the specifications for the containment she could see that it was designed to hold a portion of the network in it's own sort of pocket. Because it wasn't part of the network and only connected to the core for power it was invisible inside the dreamscape. And even if she had looked, the glare of the core itself would hide the shadow that was the containment.
Jia dropped her head and her shoulders tensed in anger. "It seems I have been fooled. There's a pocket of the network that has been cut off from the rest and is being held in the shadow of the dream network's core. It's the only place that could possibly hold both my brother and Azar without anyone here noticing." She took a small breath to calm down before turning in her chair to face Tya. "If we are going to free the ones we care about we need to work together. With you here as a guest, it's less likely we will get questioned on the way there since the more sensitive equipment is kept near the core. At the same time, I can't let you into the dreamscape once we get to the core. The only way into where Nanzu and Azar are is through the core which is going to take all my concentration. Which means I can't keep your vitals steady at the same time." She didn't need to mention the fact that they would essentially be breaking into her father's office. Or that a million things could go wrong with this plan. If they did this and failed, Jia's life was pretty much forfeit anyway. Chang Si had an absolute zero tolerance policy on betrayal.
Maybe she was finally hitting the rebellious stage, but Jia was done with watching her family fall apart from the inside out. She held out her hand to Tya with eyes full of determination. "Do we have a truce, then?"
