Cielo718 So, in addition to this OFFICIAL art of Kotetsy/Barnaby "hanging out", I recently found this info on facebook from an event they had earlier this month (I edited it to show the important parts): New Information from the Osaka Event (as shared by a 4chan /a/non) Some info from the Osaka T&B event held over the weekend: >Some scenes got rearranged; the ending imaginary scene with Tomoe for example (where she sorts of descends down) was originally supposed to overlap with Barnaby rising upwards while Kotetsu is chasing him; the whole chase scene was supposed to be more dream-like and surreal at first, but the staff had no time to execute it to their satisfaction (the up/down and reality/fantasy contrast of Barnaby/Tomoe is still present in the movie though) >Hirata (about Barnaby's harsh attitude and T&B's fighting in the movie): "No, Barnaby is the type that completely ignores those he dislikes or doesn't care about, he doesn't get angry at them for trivial reasons. His reaction (towards Kotetsu) makes is clear that they have good romantic prospects. (脈あり) How would people feel about them becoming an OFFICIAL couple?
so this art is official? I thought it was a fan art. that's pretty cute from what I've heard, the creators didn't mean for their relationship to be interpreted as romantic. They just meant for them to be like heterosexual life partners. Did he really say they have good "romantic prospects", or was that just a misinterpreted translation. I actually don't know how I'd feel about them becoming a cannon couple. I really really like the pairing, but it would narrow the audience. Sure, the fangirls would go crazy, but the large male audience would be disgusted. I would like for them to hint more about maybe Barnaby developing feelings for Kotetsu, but I'm not sure about the whole Kotetsu liking Barnaby back. In my head cannon, I think Barnaby does love Kotetsu like that, but I think Kotetsu only likes him as a good friend. It would be an interesting twist if they did that in my opinion.

I agree with you. I love them as a couple, but idk how I would feel if it became official. The info was from a facebook page that has given reliable info in the past, but I can't guarantee it was mistranslated, since I wasn't there and can't read Japanese. It might have just been Hirata throwing a bone to the fangirls... I think it's important for them to keep as many fans of the show around, paying money, so they are going to do whatever they have to to make sure that happens.

That's the thing with Japanese. Lots of words are slightly ambiguous, so some things can interpreted different ways. Even subs can translate certain lines in a way so the meanings are slightly different. It is possible that since it's obvious to them that the show has a huge yaoi following, they're trying to appease the fangirls without making them an official couple, so they don't upset the fans that hate the pairing. It would be cute if they added more kotetsu/barnaby ship tease moments. If they made them an official pairing I think all in all it would be a very bad move on their part (even though I kinda would love to see that...).

I heard that the novel starts out describing Barnaby getting out of the shower, and then goes into Kotetsu praying for a miracle right before Barnaby catches him that first time. And apparently the movie compares Barnaby to Tomoe. They definitely know how to keep us K/B fans spending our money... but it does make it harder to convince some of my friends to watch the show. Some of my guys friends looked it up after I said how good it was and refuse to believe it's not yaoi. (dumb boys!)
Really? That's a shame. My boyfriend and a close guy friend of mine from college love Tiger&Bunny, and they just think I'm crazy for thinking there's anything besides bromance between them. Of course, they found out about the show from the mecha community, not from the fanart. I guess if you only saw all the yaoi fanart between them, and thought that's how the show is, then it could deter some of the male audience. I did however get some of my friends that are fangirls to watch Tiger&Bunny because I told them the main guys are really hot and there's lots of Kotetsu/Barnaby ship tease. What's this novel you speak of? I know there's a manga, but not a light novel. confused .....I want to read this description of Barnaby getting out of the shower redface

As far as I know, my bf, and the bf's of my T&Bro's (because apparently, that is what we are called now) feel the same way: that we are imagining the romance. My bf has argued "bromance" with me a million times. As for the Novel, I am subscribed to a couple of Tiger & Bunny Groups on facebook, and one of them announced the release of a novel a while back.
This is from the group "Tiger & Bunny News", on August 10th. Apparently it's from the movie:
Translated excerpts from the T&B movie novelization (c/o the 4chan /a/nons)...
Some excerpts from Barnaby's side: >It's not that I don't believe in miracles as such. However, too often people rely on this word when, faced with difficulties, they refuse to exert the effort necessary to overcome them, or when they are trying to sugarcoat the reality. That, I hate. >Choose your objective and then do everything to accomplish it, even if it means shedding your own blood. Those who persevere until the end get their results, and people around them then call it a miracle. >Death comes without warning and those who died will never return. >So if there's something that you really don't want to lose, something that you need to protect, then you need absolute power. Complete and absolute strength of both mind and body. >This philosophy has been sustaining me for years. It is what has molded the character of the man known as Barnaby Brooks Jr. >I turned the water off and exited the bathroom, then thoroughly dried off my whole body with a towel. The towel, washed with a fabric conditioner, felt soft to the touch and the sensation of it against the skin was pleasant. Not bothering to put on anything more than a pair of boxers, I headed for the living room. >I live in a skyscraper apartment complex located in the central part of the Gold Stage. The transport here is convenient and it's easy to reach every corner of the metropolitan area, and it also offers an impressive view of the concrete jungle that is Sternbild.
(from Chapter 2) >“....Understood.” >“Then come to my office in the Apollon Media building.” >“I shall see you soon.” >Switching my phone off, I started getting ready to leave. >As I have mentioned before, there is very little in life that is really necessary. The same can be said about fashion. In my case, I dislike to own a lot, so my creed is to pick up a quality article and then keep using it for as long as possible. Take this carmine leather motorcycle jacket for example. It has been keeping me company for five years already. The metal studded white leather belt has also seen a lot of use. When it comes to choosing clothes, I suppose I have the tendency to buy things with many buttons. >Having changed into the appropriate clothes, I slipped into the jacket and left the apartment.
From Kotetsu's side (Chapter 1) >“He's in danger!” >I was falling and the frozen river was approaching so terribly fast. Wait, is this really how I'm going to die? >As Kaede's father, I have a duty to see her grow up. She's already lost her mother Tomoe to illness and gone through a lot. If I die, she'll be all alone. Kaede's still so small, I can't die and leave her by herself. >I don't want to die! Not yet! >Only a few meters were left until the frozen surface. Only a miracle could have saved me. >Yes, a miracle....
