- Character Personality : Matsuo is a very wild person when it comes to outside of battle. He is very cold when dealing with anyone weaker than him. He however has a soft spot for women, whether it be a Arrancar or a Shinigami. This is unexplained but something must have happened when he was a hollow to make him have a soft spot for women. But when it comes to men, he is cold and shows no mercy to battle. Although when his opponent cannot fight back he will stop the fight. But if his opponent continues to fight on he will not hesitate to kill them. Now if he finds someone who is stronger than him he will show some respect to them. However he will always feel bitter to that person, no matter if they are an arrancar or a shinigami. He will always strive to be the strongest being in existance. He does like to fight with a passion. Fighting to the point of exaustion.

- Bio: Mastuo was given the childhood name of Kippōshi (吉法師?). Through his childhood and early teenage years, he was well known for his bizarre behavior and received the name of Owari no Ōutsuke (尾張の大うつけ?, The Fool of Owari). With the introduction of firearms into Japan, though, he became known for his fondness of Tanegashima firearms. He was also known to run around with other youths from the area, without any regard to his own rank in society. Matsuo began to rise up in power among the samurai, eventually reaching the title of Daiymo of the Tenshi clan, over the span of twenty years he defeated the other daiyamos and became the Shogun of Japan. His reign of power is remembered by his butality and greed, spending the tax money wildley.He spent the money on unesseary palaces for himself, building statues thoughout japan in his image. Then one day the people were tired of the abuse of power. They rose up against him and ended up slaying him in one of the biggest battles in japanese history at the time. Once he was slain his lust for greed and power would not end there. He became a hollow and started to consume all hollows around him competing for human souls. He killed several shinigami and consumed their souls as well. He went into Hueco Mundo and after a period of a few hundrid years he became a vasto lorde. But his thrist for power would not end there. In anger of trying to gain more power he forcefully removed his mask. He became one of the most powerful self made arrancar in the History in Hueco Mundo . now he did have a lover once Her name was Susanoo (an odd name i know) and when they were alive they loved each other to death. She eventually fell for someone else, although his name was not revealed. When Matsuo became a hollow he took his revenge on her by eating her soul an ax came forth from his body which is now his zanpakuto. She hates what he had become but she now is slowly becoming sadistic like he is due to his overpowering influence

- Ressurection description (including appearance and abilities): His arms turn into Guns of sorts, going all the way up to his shoulder, which has a joint at the elbow so he can move his arm normally. His legs turn into cannons but this is made to where it does not impede his agility and speed. He has mulitipule barrels coming out of his back. Ranging from twenty to fifty gun barrels. He never bothered to count them. All the guns are black and red colored, all demonic looking. Each of the guns can fire anything that can be gathered from his surroundings. Most commomly Reishi, but he can use physical objects to pull into the barrel and fire them at about the speed of a bala. He can use his own reitsu to fire but this is straining on him. His arm guns are semi powerful. they can fire like a machine gun although this makes them much weaker. The cannons on his feet are extremley powerful but takes a while to charge. They can do serious damage to his opponent if it connects when fired. He can even shoot flames out of the gun barrels, but he rarley does this. Also he can only charge/fire one gun section at a time. Meaning his back is a section, his arms, and his legs cannot be fired at the same time.

Any object that Asukira creates in this prossece is able to fire off balla's and Ceros.

Wardrobe: Amaya wears the basic arrancar colors, with her shirt having no sleeves and an open back. She will often wear a long coat, with the Japanese symbol for lightning painted on it. She wears her sword across her back, as that is the only place it successfully fits.

Physical Appearance: Amaya is tall and thin. Her dark hair is worn long and straight, although she will tie it back in a fight. Her eyes are blue, although the shade shifts anywhere from deep sapphire to electric blue depending on her mood.

Mask Remnant: The remnant of her hollow mask is a curious piece of bone that resembles several feathers overlapping each other on the back of her neck, often hidden by her coat and her hair.

swords appearance: Tsubasa is an ōdachi with a jet black blade and a single deep almost black feather coming from the hilt. Most often it is worn across her back.

Characters story:

Living: Amaya remembers her life well. She lived near the ocean and would often go out sailing as a child. Her family was in charge of the lighthouse and weren’t necessarily rich but they were not poor. At 18 she left home and joined a merchant fleet as their navigator. While the belief at the time was that women were bad luck on ships, Amaya was the exception. Even from an early age she had shown hints of abilities, able to predict what the wind was going to do, and how bad a storm would be, even when the village elders claimed it would do something else. The legend quickly grew about how, no matter what ship, if Amaya Kaori was on it, the wind would never stray, and storms would never so much as rock the ship. She was more than the navigator however, and was as good with a sword or pistol as any other sailor, and many pirates.

Prehollow: Amaya was killed in a pirate raid, and at the time the story was that as soon as she was killed, a storm blew up and destroyed both ships. What actually happened is unknown and Amaya won’t tell, it was confirmed however that one if not both ships were sunk. It took Amaya almost a day to figure out that she was dead. When the raid happened they were only a few miles from her home, so she wasn’t overly surprised when she woke on the shore just down from the lighthouse. True to her training she stayed still, waiting for someone to come. When they didn’t she carefully checked every part for injury before standing.

Amaya’s younger sister was the first person that she ran into. Surprisingly her sister could see her, enforcing Amaya’s belief that she was still alive and had just washed up on shore. Her sister, having heard of the pirate raid was overjoyed. They hurried back to the lighthouse to tell her parents, only to discover that they couldn’t see Amaya. In a state of shock Amaya tired to sit down, only to discover that she fell directly through the chair. Horrified to discover that she was in fact dead Amaya left, headed into the woods. She attended her own funeral out of morbid interest. She became the person her sister turned to for advise and comfort, and thus stayed in the human world.

Hollow: It was nearing a year after she had died when pirates raided the village. Her sister, who had refused time and again to learn sword, ran to the cliff that Amaya could usually be found on. A handful of pirates followed. With her sister calling on her for help, Amaya tried to intervene. She failed, the men running directly through her, deaf to her shouts. With her chain already alarmingly short, this pushed her over. Rage filled her, both at herself for being unable to do anything, at her sister for being unable to defend herself, and at the pirates. She wasn’t even conscious of what she was doing until her sister screamed. She had killed the pirates, several of the villagers, and had been seconds away from killing her sister. Horrified at what she had done she retreated once again to the woods.

Amaya’s hollow form was that of a massive bird, with hawk like legs and talons, an overly long tail, a slightly long neck, and a hooked beak. Since she stayed nearby, somehow still conscious and in control, the villagers began to take notice. Never again did bandits, pirates, or anyone else the village disfavored come within 100 miles, and ever be seen or heard from again. Occasionally the villagers would glimpse the hollow, and while they did understand that she would kill without hesitation and devour her victims, they saw her as a protector against ills, as well as the bird of the storm. Mainly that was due to how she was mainly seen silhouetted by lightning during the thunderstorms as she flew through them.

A shinigami drove her out of the area, severely injuring her and forcing her to retreat to Hueco Mundo. Once there she lost her ties to the village, and turned to fighting other hollows. She grew in power quickly, often going after the more powerful in surprise aerial attacks. In Hueco Mundo she quickly discovered her curious ability to use lightning by clapping her wings together, earning her the name Raikou. For a while she joined a group of other birdlike hollows who called themselves The Flock. They would make their way to the menos forest and attack as a team, mainly the weaker Gillian who had wandered a little too far from the group. Their leader was a dark colored hollow who led his group relentlessly until they were just below menos level. At this point he turned on them, trying to devour them one by one. The group dissolved into chaos, with each hollow for itself. Amaya attempted to stay out of it, however that wasn’t possible. She settled instead on only attacking those who attacked her first. When it was all said and done she was the only one of the group that had survived, and through this she became a Gillian. Having already learned various tactics to easily kill Gillian she quickly moved to Vasto Lorde

Arrancar: After becoming a Vasto Lorde, Amaya continued to fight, mainly just because everyone continued to challenge her. Her mask was broken while in a fight with a Adjuchas, and through her sheer will to survive, she became an Arrancar. From there she went into hiding for several years, mastering her abilities before presenting herself to her fellow Arrancars and their possible challenges.

Plans for the future: Like she would admit what they were or if she even had any

characters strengths: Her speed, power and immunity to lightning, and her split second decisions that appear completely random but somehow come together.

characters weaknesses: Her general lack of caring and her short attention span. She also has a love of sleeping and has a habit of hitting first, asking questions later when it comes to waking her up.

Personality Amaya is generally a laid back person, although she is known to do things on a spur of the moment whim and can change her mind at any given moment. It is usually hard to make her mad although there will be quick flashes of temper. These flashes are best to be avoided since they usually follow the pattern of her being happy, hitting whatever annoyed her with enough power to bring down a small building, and going back to happy as if nothing happened. Amaya enjoys sleeping, and most of her flashes of temper happen when someone wakes her up without good reason. She loves fights, but will hold back as long as possible, and has been known to refuse to draw her sword and only fight hand to hand. If she acknowledges her opponent as a good fighter, someone with potential, or interesting, it is distinctly possible that she will try not to permanently injure them, and if they really catch her interest, after the fight she may help them. She prefers to be a polite person, as well as honorable. If she can she won’t break a promise, little matter who or what to.

Hollow Abilities

Cero – Amaya’s cero has been mastered for speed. She has not bothered to learn bala as her Cero is only a fraction slower and far more powerful. It is a deep blue color and is fried from the first two fingers of either hand.

Garganta

Hierro – Amaya’s Hierro is a little below average when in her human form. Her fighting style tends to rely more on speed and agility so this small flaw is mainly unnoticed. In her released form however her Hierro becomes far stronger, able to handle a sword barehanded.

Pesquisa – She has mastered Pesquisa, and often uses it instinctively. For her it works like sonar, and the average range is about 100 feet in all directions. She can tell vaguely what level they are, such as she can tell the difference between a regular shinigami and a captain, but her specialty is in telling where exactly where the core of the power is.

Sonido – She is a Sonido mater.

Gran Rey Cero - a massive deep blue cero that is surrounded by lightning.

Special

Zanzō (Afterimage) – This ability is an offshoot of Sonido. It is a technique that creates a clone of Amaya by changing her speed and power output in Sonido. Currently she is only able to create one clone, which often dissipates after about a minute.

Hansha (Reflection) – This is a curious ability that was among the first Amaya discovered as an Arrancar. She is able to split her sword in two, although it costs a decent amount of Spirit Energy to initiate, although almost none to maintain. Once it is done her swords are identical to each other, and look much the same as her original sword, although they are roughly half the length.

Element – lightning – while not able to summon lightning in this form, she is able to channel it and is primarily immune to any lightning based attack, well, the lightning part of it.

Resurrección Appearance

When she releases her sword dissolves in a black fog that centers mainly around her feet. Thick deep blue feathers cover her chest extending to her elbows as well as down her legs, ending at her feet which become three toed talons. Long feathers form a tail and massive wings grow from her back. Her mask fragment extends, curving halfway down her jaw line. Her hands become longer and thinner, with her nails elongating into sharp points. When in this form her eyes shift to lightning blue and narrow slightly, becoming more birdlike.

Resurrection Ability:

Her speed and Hierro are increased and she has the ability to fly, as well as an immunity to electric currents, specifically lightning.

Lightning - When in this form, especially during a storm, her wings build electricity, which she can unleash in the form of lighting by bringing the tips together. This ability is better used when not fighting in groups due to the fact that while she can suggest which way the lightning go, it is still lightning and its accuracy is less than perfect. This ability can only be used every few posts (3) due to the fact that her wings have to rebuild the needed static to form lightning. In a thunderstorm she is able to draw the lightning to herself, and direct it from there.

Arashi no shōkan - This ability is a last ditch attack, since it is only good for one shot, and after she reverts to her human form. For all points and purposes Arashi no shōkan summons a thunderstorm as rapidly as possible, creating an incredibly unstable system. The lightning created by the supercharged clouds as well as her own spiritual pressure is condensed into a single point, and then released, creating a massive blast of lightning where the odds of getting hit by lightning reverse from nature, becoming incredibly good. The attack can last for several minutes, especially if there was a natural storm nearby

Personality: Nnoitra is extremely rude and lecherous, accented by his snake-like eyes and perverted attitude towards Orihime, rudely referring to her as "pet-sama". He even went as far to ask Ulquiorra Schiffer how well he "disciplined" her. He is quite possibly the most foul-mouthed character in the series, even more so than Grimmjow. He is also a firm believer in male chauvinism and openly insults (and regularly attacked) the former 3rd Espada, though it's unknown if he holds the same grudge toward Tia Harribel. His overall goal is to prove himself to be the absolute strongest of the Espada and does not wish to waste his time killing those he dubs "weak". However, he has no qualms attacking stronger opponents who are already injured, a trait both Ichigo Kurosaki and Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez berate him for. He also loathes looking weak, and thus, will refuse all forms of assistance offered to him during an ongoing battle, as seen when he struck his lone Fracción, Tesla, for running over to his side (and releasing Orihime Inoue in the process) after Nnoitra was blasted by Nelliel's Cero Doble. He does, however, appear to have at least some amount concern for his sole Fracción's well-being (unlike Grimmjow, who did not even mourn for his deceased companions), having attempted to warn Tesla to withdraw from battle after he determined via his pesquisa that Kenpachi Zaraki was stronger than he had initially anticipated.

One of Nnoitra's most notable characteristics is his insatiable bloodlust and hunger for battle, which exceeds even Grimmjow's and rivaled only by Kenpachi Zaraki's philosophy of literally living to fight time and again. Nnoitra's idea of a fulfilling end to his life would be to die on his own two feet while drowning on his own blood. Because fighting is his way of life, he continually strives to be stronger, and it is later revealed that he considers himself indebted to Aizen for allowing him to exceed his natural fighting limits. To appease his craving for a good fight, he even defies a direct order from Aizen to patiently lie in wait for Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends when they try to infiltrate Las Noches in a bid to free Orihime Inoue.

In his later moments during his battle with Kenpachi Zaraki, he begins to show signs of weakness and desperation, and becomes increasingly frustrated over his inability to overcome the powerful Captain. This stems from an inferiority complex he developed while serving as 8th Espada, due to his apparent inability to beat his opponents. Whenever his opponents refuse to kill him during a battle, particularly Kenpachi and Nelliel, Nnoitra takes it as a direct affront to his pride, because in his mind, neither Nelliel nor Kenpachi seem to think of him as their equal or superior. This shows a more honorable side of him as even he wishes to be treated as equally as every other opponent he has treated. Ironically, he treated virtually everyone of his opponents the same way, unfairly and through dishonorable methods. He also does not hesitate to use any means - even unfair ones - in order to prove his superiority in the battlefield.

History:Several years earlier Nnoitra held the rank of 8th Espada. He once laid waste to an entire colony of an Arrancar prompting Nelliel to ask him why as he was given no order to do so. Nnoitra stated that no one ever ordered him not to kill them. Nelliel reminded him that Aizen's order were to "seek the Vasto Lorde", she noted that murdering entire colonies stood against that order. He responded that not everyone was loyal to Aizen and if they resisted they were rebels and killing rebels was like helping Aizen. He further reasoned that if he could take them out then they were not Vasto Lorde, stating that he was following orders just fine. He then informed her that she had gotten awfully uptight over a couple hundred Hollows. Nelliel suggested that he should think before he speaks, as they themselves were once Hollows just like those he killed; it was their own good fortune that they had evolved beyond that, nothing more. Nnoitra taunted her to attack if she felt she could beat him if it made her mad. She plainly responded that she was shocked as even becoming an Arrancar, Nnoitra was nothing more then a child. Nnoitra questioned her comment but was attacked and seemingly knocked unconscious. When he woke up he saw that she was sitting near him reading a book while a dead Hollow lied nearby. He asked her why she helped him, and Nelliel simply told him that she did not 'help him'. She simply prevented the Espada from losing a member by putting an end to his suicidal behavior. Nnoitra explained that he couldn't stand her and that she would obviously know that, so why would she keep following him around. She simply stared at him and stated that its because he was weaker than her.[2] Sometime later Nnoitra continued to kill Arrancar and Hollow alike, determining they were unfortunate for facing him. Nelliel noted to him that it was an Arrancar he just killed to which he responded he knew that and wanted to state as a fact something he would only explain once. Something he wanted her to know if she insisted to continually follow him around, that no matter who it was he would not be benevolent or merciful.

Sometime later he challenged her to a fight to which Nelliel explained once again that she would not draw her blade against the likes of him. Stating that he would not draw her into his demented world. Nnoitra told her that she was over thinking as the only reason they needed to draw their blades against each other was for the simple sake of drawing their blades. Nelliel noted that she did not understand that reasoning. She then asked what drives his blood lust. Nnoitra simply stated that gasping for his final breath in the heat of battle to have his entire being defined by that moment. Nelliel questioned this philosophy noting that it would be a temporary high. He agreed to the truth of that but stated that nothing else could fill that void. He was given power and he would use it kill anyone standing in his way until he died on his feet taking in his last breath.[3]

During this time he would constantly challenge the then 3rd Espada Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck to battle, each time she would easily defeat him. It was during one of these battle she went to leave and he told her that it was a battle to the finish. When she asked him if he wanted her to finish him off she told him that she simply refused and further told him to stop talking all big. She stated that there was a time when they ceased being Human, and became beasts. Now, as Arrancar they had regained their sense of reason. She explained to him that rational people, when going to battle need a reason to fight and he had none. Nnoitra screamed at her that he had a reason, and that he could not stand her. Nelliel detailed that it wasn't a reason, just an instinct, as he was a beast and she didn't recognize him as a warrior. Therefore she had no reason to bear the life of someone not a warrior. After Nelliel left, Nnoitra was approached by Tesla who offered him a hand. In response he threw his Zanpakutō at him hitting the structure behind the Arrancar. Nnoitra told him not to act friendly with him, as just because he lost it didn't mean that they were of the same level. When Tesla asked why he had to pick on Nelliel and no other Espada, Nnoitra explained that it was because he hated her for being a female that was able to out rank a man on the battlefield.[4]

Sometime later Nnoitra teamed up with Szayel Aporro Granz (who was not an Espada at the time) to perform a sneak attack on Nelliel as well as test a device he created.[5] As Nelliel was searching for her Fracción she was confronted by Nnoitra who asked her if she was looking for something. Nelliel stated it was none of his business and asked if revealing his weapon was a form of intimidation. She advised him if he didn't want to look weak, to keep it and move on. There was an explosion which gets Nelliel's attention, and once the smoke settled she saw her Fracción, Pesche Guatiche and Dondochakka Bilstin, gravely wounded. She turned to Nnoitra and asked him if he forcibly removed their masks as she becomes enraged.[6] They initiated in a fight and because of a device made by Szayel, it created a fake image of Nnoitra and distracted Nelliel's attention. By exploiting the opportunity, Nnoitra attacked Nelliel and she was hit from behind causing a wound to her head and her mask to break on the front left side. The attack scared her forehead and left her unconscious.[7] He took her unconscious body and stated that she would probably call this an act of a beast but it didn't matter any to him. He was approached from behind by Szayel who asked if there was anything else to which Nnoitra responded that his job was already over. Szayel asked him if he needed to be so cold as they worked as partners, for that he should at least be allowed to admire their end. Nnoitra detailed that he doesn't remember being his partner and that they just happened to have the same motives. Nnoitra threw Nelliel off the side of Las Noches so that he could increase his power by the time she returned.[8] Nnoitra told Szayel they were going, but Szayel told him that he would appreciate it if he lost the presumptuous tone, but Nnoitra told him that he wasn't even an Espada anymore. Szayel stated that if not for the equipment that he prepared Nnoitra wouldn't even have had the chance to attack Nelliel and then asked if he should really be speaking to him that way. Nnoitra looked over the side of Las Noches at Nelliel and her Fracción's prone bodies and was surprised as she reverted into a child. Szayel noted that he had not anticipated this and he had never seen anything like it before. He deduced that her reiatsu was leaking out of the wound on her mask, and her spiritual body shrank as a result. Nnoitra stated he didn't care why it happened as he gloated over her and stated that as it was unlikely for them to get the chance to cross swords with each other again noting that it was a shame.[9]

Espada Release Abilities: * The release command is Pray (祈れ, inore). Nnoitra gains an extra set of arms, which take on an insect-like carapace and clawed hands, with each hand holding a large scythe-like weapon as well. The scythes themselves resemble the appendages of a praying mantis, and have a small golden tassel at the end of each staff. He also gains a golden marking extending from his forehead to below his right eye, as well as a pair of horns on his head, his left horn longer than his right, resembling a crescent moon. His hollow mask also changes, becoming torn, with the teeth extending over the hole itself.[58] The weapons are used by him to both defend and then rapidly attack his opponent, as is seen in his fight with Kenpachi.[59]

Description: Ulquiorra is a slender, yet fairly muscular, male Arrancar of average height with a melancholic appearance, fairly short, messy black hair, pale white skin, a black upper lip, and green eyes with slit-shaped pupils similar to a cat's. Part of his bangs falls between his eyes, and he has distinctively thick eyebrows. He has teal lines that descend from his eyes, making it appear as if he is crying. His facial expression rarely changes, and he is almost always frowning. He wears typical Arrancar clothes: a white jacket, black sash, and a white hakama. However, his jacket seems to have longer coattails than others, and the collar is rather high.

Like most other Arrancar, he possesses remnants of his former life as a Hollow in his appearance. His Hollow hole is located just below his throat. The remainder of his Hollow mask lies on top of his head, forming a broken helmet. He is now ranked as espada number zero signified by the tattoo on the left side of his chest.

Personality: Ulquiorra is a very cold, callous, dispassionate figure, and is rather aloof, brooding, and indifferent, willing to harm both his comrades and enemies should they ever get in his way. He refers to anyone he does not find interesting as "trash" and treats them as expendable. Despite this, like most of the other top Espada, he is not particularly violent and will only fight when provoked.

Ulquiorra demonstrates a strange habit when killing victims he is particularly interested in, stabbing them with his bare hand in the same location as his Hollow hole, as stated by Grimmjow. Whether he is consciously aware of this habit or not is unknown. During a speech to Orihime, he claims that he does not believe in Human emotions, which he refers to as the "heart," reasoning that if his eye cannot see them, then they do not exist. These words, and much of Ulquiorra's overall behavior, reflect the concepts of materialism, which also connects to his aspect of death as an Espada, nihilism. In the last seconds of his life, he seems to finally find his own "heart" and understand feelings. Although since his resurrection by his own power his personality is begining to change. His personality allows him to stay completely calm and in control in most situations, and he is not easily surprised or caught off-guard. Ulquiorra is also highly perceptive, cunning, and analytical.

Characters story: since his death (and since he brought himself back to life with his own power) he has distanced himself from the other espadas. He also now bares the number 0 on the left side of his chest instead of the number four. he gave himself this number for two reasons. One, is to prove that he was the best espada and didnt fall in place from 1 to 10. Second, to prove that his new life is his own and that now he takes orders from noone. other then that Ulquiorra's story is not yet clear. Since his resurrection he isn't sure what to do with is life but he does have one idea.....

plans for the future: To join the Soul Society, and unite the espada and the soul reapers.

Powers & Abilities:

Master Swordsmanship Specialist: Though he rarely engages in it, Ulquiorra appears to be highly skilled in swordsmanship. He is capable of using his speed for flawless precision and to inflict lethal attacks without much effort. Ulquiorra prefers to wield his sword with his right hand, leaving the other hand free, though it usually remains in his pocket. He is quite adept at blocking. He was able to fend off Ichigo using his Hollow mask-enhanced Bankai long enough to reach the top of Las Noches, though his Zanpakutō was nearly broken.

Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Ulquiorra has shown to rely mostly on hand-to-hand combat, rarely drawing his sword at all. Ichigo speculates that he only draws his sword against opponents he considers "worthy". Ulquiorra also seems to prefer applying an "off-the-ground" method of combat, often being seen attacking opponents from aerial standpoints, such as when he attempted to use his Cero on an offending Grimmjow by attacking him from the air above his head, or when he jumped upwards with a Sonído in an attempt to catch Ichigo off guard during their most recent confrontation. His trademark attack towards prey that he likes is to impale an opponent in the chest and gouge a hole in them in the same place as his own.

Sonído Master: One of Ulquiorra's more noticeable traits is his tremendously skillful speed. He has demonstrated the ability to catch up with Ichigo after kicking him from a tower in a few moments. He has also shown the ability to skillfully keep up with Ichigo's Bankai speed. Ulquiorra moves at an excessively fast speed in combat, so fast that Ichigo found it hard to even discern his movements at first. In his release state, he shows an even greater level of speed, astonishing and outclassing Ichigo even further.

Keen Intellect: In addition to his remarkable combat prowess, Ulquiorra is also gifted with great insight and understanding of situations at hand. His intelligence is such that even Aizen, a man arguably best-known for his intellect, harbors respect for, as he sent Ulquiorra to investigate Ichigo's power and threat level. With his calm and collected nature, Ulquiorra can be highly perceptive and analytical, allowing him to easily deduce the basic idea of his opponent's skills to figure out their strengths and weaknesses.

Cero: Ulquiorra has been shown shooting Cero from his fingers with excessively destructive power. His Cero can be charged and fired relatively fast and is a green color instead of red, which is the most common color of a Cero. The force of the blast is powerful enough to send an opponent hurtling long distances, effectively destroying any obstacle in its path at great range. He is shown able to fire it from either hand.

Bala: This technique hardens the user's spiritual pressure and fires it like a bullet from their fist. Ulquiorra has a red Bala, as seen in the kidnapping of Orihime. Ulquiorra's Bala is powerful enough to blast a huge hole into two unseated Shinigami.

Enhanced Hierro: (Spanish for "Iron", Japanese for "Steel Skin"): refers to the hardened skin of the Arrancar, which is a result of their compressed spiritual power. While not openly stated, it has been seen repeatedly that Ulquiorra's skin is highly durable even by Arrancar standards. He can deflect attacks of similar power barehanded. He is able to fight Ichigo in his Hollow form without unsheathing his sword, rendering Ichigo defenseless with two attacks and not sustaining injuries of any kind. The best example of his Hierro's might was shown from his ability to take a direct slash from Ichigo's Tensa Zangetsu with only a minor cut on his chest, while his fellow Espada Yammy lost an arm from the said opponent. Also, in his released form, Ulquiorra's Hierro appears to be even stronger, as Ichigo's strongest attacks seem to have no effect on him.

Enhanced Pesquisa: The Arrancar ability to sense spiritual energy. While any Arrancar can learn it, Ulquiorra has shown impressive skill with it. From a single glance at his opponent, Ulquiorra can immediately determine how powerful his opponent is.[77] He is also able to comprehend the flow and concentration of the person's energy as shown from his ability to instantly notice Ichigo's energy was fluctuating due to his inner Hollow.[78]

Enhanced Strength: Ulquiorra has proven to be deceptively mighty for his build. He has shown the ability to physically discipline Yammy, an Espada known primarily for his strength with no visible effort. He can upturn huge portions of rock floor with a single strike at the ground with his sword. He has also shown the ability to kick Ichigo a tremendous distance with one strong kick.

Garganta: (Spanish for "Throat", Japanese for "Black Cavity"): Garganta is how Arrancar move to and from Hueco Mundo. Ulquiorra has the ability to use the technique. It literally tears open the dimensional fabric separating the worlds, revealing a tunnel of whirling, torrential energy that must be focused and solidified to create a discernible pathway

Garganta Broadcast: Ulquiorra has been shown able to create a visual broadcast, similar to a television screen, using individual Garganta portals. He does this in order to show the current predicament of Orihime's friends (Ichigo, Hitsugaya and Matsumoto) fighting their respective battles.

Instant Replay: This ability allows Ulquiorra to replay events he has seen to others by removing and crushing an eye, which then turns into dust and flows around those he intends to use it on. The dust apparently relays not only his sight but also his feelings.

High-Speed Regeneration: Despite having great attack power, speed, and durability, Ulquiorra's greatest strength lies in his regenerative power. It is first witnessed after he removed and crushed one of his eyes, then he is seen with two eyes again in his next appearance, and Yammy comments on it to that effect. This is displayed once more in his battle against Ichigo's evolved Hollow form where he regenerates the arm that was torn off. Ulquiorra states that it is his greatest power, one which most Arrancar give up in return for greater strength. He explains that he can quickly regenerate any part of his body. However, this power also requires that he had sufficient spiritual energy.

Immense Spiritual Power: His spiritual power is immensely high. As one of the top four Espada, he is forbidden to release his Zanpakutō within Las Noches. That is because they are too powerful and such a release would cause great damage to the fortress.

Zanpakutō/Resurrección/Abilities:

Murciélago: (Murushierago; Spanish for "Bat", Japanese for "Black-Winged Great Demon"). Ulquiorra's Zanpakutō takes the form of a standard sized katana with a green handle and sheath. The guard has two curved extensions from its long sides, with a line going through both sides to give it an eye-like appearance.


Resurrección: Its release command is "Enclose". Murciélago unleashes a black (with green outline) burst of spiritual energy that falls around Ulquiorra as green rain. In his released state, Ulquiorra becomes bat-like in appearance. While in this form he gains large black bat wings on his back, his hair becomes longer and wilder, and the remains of his Hollow mask centers atop his head, with two large horns extending outward to the sides towards the front. The lines on his face become black, broader and more triangular and his fingernails lengthen. His Arrancar attire becomes more form fitting and closed at the top, becoming more like a robe towards the bottom. In this form, he can use his wings for flight.

Resurrección Special Ability: He gains even greater physical abilities in this form. Ulquiorra also has the unique ability to enter a second released form, called Resurrección Segunda Etapa.

Javelin Generation: He is shown to have the ability to generate green energy javelins. He uses them as ranged weapons throwing them at an opponent and as a melee weapon.

Enhanced Speed: His speed is greatly enhanced, able to move great distances in an instant as if to displace himself, and able to push Ichigo to the point that even his Hollow mask-enhanced Bankai has difficulty keeping up.

Enhanced Hierro: His Hierro has also vastly increased in strength to the point where a Getsuga Tenshō with Ichigo's mask activated has no effect at all.

Enhanced Spiritual Power: Though already possessing immense spiritual power once released his black, green outlined spiritual energy permeates the area, it is intense enough to create a profound effect on others as well as to cause what appears as green rain to fall in the surrounding area when he releases.

Cero Oscuras: (Spanish for "Dark Zero", Japanese for "Black Hollow Flash"): It is a black Cero with a green outline to it, which Ulquiorra states to be similar to Ichigo's black Getsuga Tenshō. This Cero presumably can only be used while he is in his release state. Ulquiorra's Cero Oscuras is powerful enough to blast Ichigo's mask away and destroy a large part of the city-sized Las Noches' dome. Ulquiorra refers to it as "our Cero". It can also be used in the Segunda Etapa form.

Resurrección 2: Segunda Etapa (Spanish for "Resurrection Second Stage", Japanese for "Sword's Release: Second Level") Upon his transformation, Ulquiorra boasts that he is the only Arrancar among the Espada who is able to reach a second Resurrección form, and that even Aizen has not seen him in this form. Ulquiorra refers to his second state as "True Despair", both before and after its release, because the immensely dense spiritual pressure it releases instills despair upon those around him. While he retains his black wings, his long white coat is gone, revealing a more defined musculature with his chest bare and Hollow hole (which has become larger) dripping black, blood-like liquid. His waist becomes covered in something similar to black fur, which also covers his arms and legs. His fingers grow claw-like extensions and his feet become like talons. The irises of his eyes turn yellow while the sclera becomes green. The tear-like marks under his eyes increase in size and turn black. Ulquiorra's mask remains turn into two long horns, and the #0 Espada tattoo is no longer visible on his chest. He grows a very long and thin but powerful tail which is capable of being used as a weapon or to lift and strangle a victim.

Overwhelming Spiritual Power: Ulquiorra's already-immense spiritual power is significantly increased furthermore upon entering his second stage. Even being within the vicinity of his release instills despair on those who can sense it. Uryū Ishida, a Quincy who is an expert at sensing reiatsu, noted that the density of Ulquiorra's spiritual power was so vast that it could hardly be identified as reiatsu. "It's like no spiritual energy I've ever felt before...It's not just bigger or stronger. It's too dense and heavy to even be called spiritual energy. It feels like there's an ocean above the sky..."

Lanza del Relámpago: (Spanish for "Lance of the Lightning", Japanese for "Lance of Thunder and Lightning"): Ulquiorra creates a javelin-like weapon using his spiritual power, which he can use as a projectile or as a physical weapon. When thrown, it produces an incredibly-destructive explosion on impact, which dwarfs the fortress of Las Noches in height. Ulquiorra prefers to not use the attack at close range, most likely because the resulting blast would damage himself as well as Las Noches. While he can use these spears in rapid succession, he has difficulty controlling their trajectory. Ulquiorra is also able to use this attack as a blade, and he can use it to either disintegrate material upon impact, as seen when he struck away his own amputated arm that Hollow Ichigo had just thrown at him; or to cut, as seen when he used it to sever one of Hollow Ichigo's horns to prevent him from using a Cero on Uryū.
