=Gotham at Night=

[Mr Fantastic Four]

10:25 pm, Gotham City

It was night time in Gotham, people where coming off work from working extra hours or just nightshifts. Batman appeared up on top of an old statue above an ancient church. Batman looked around trying to see if anything looks suspicious around Gotham. Things have been too quite but lets see how long that lasts.

Prowling on the rooftops, the Cheshire Cat grinned as she watched Batsy. She had recently discovered this strange city, and was so far having fun exploring it. No one had been able to catch her - much less detect her - so she'd been keeping an eye out for anyone interesting. The man with the black cape seemed to be out at night a lot, so Cheshy had decided to keep an eye on him...

Jervis sat in front of his desk, working calmly away on his latest invention, a flash bulb style mind control device that worked well over a span of a distance and could easily effect multiple people all at the same time. While it was ingenius too its counterpart, the mind control 10/6 Cards, it was less acute however. Very suddenly Jervis was jerked backwards, thrown from his seat and hit the ground hard within his Hat shoppe, twitching and convulsing his eyes rolled back in his skull and his mouth began too foam, thrashing about his body finally stilled. Yet when it arose after a moment, there was something darker and more terrifying in his eyes, something…or rather someone that didn’t belong. What once have been Jervis Tetch, had now become Vincent Tetch, for now the Hatter from Wonderland had crossed over, astrially projected his soul in order too be bedfellows with a certain Gotham Hatter. Casually brushing himself off, Jervis spoke up while rising. ”—Vincent? Was that you?” taking control and piping up, the more dominant male forced a grin and looked over Tetch’s body as if it were for the first time. ”—Its me Jervis, I didn’t feel right…and figured the closeness might ward off this problematic situation.” Jervis started moving back towards the table too continue his work, but Vincent lead their body outside. ”—You know this is going too be potentially harmful if you don’t let me run the body Tetch, imagine me pulling you left too avoid a car while you swing right, lethal. Allow me, just sit back and take the ride…meanwhile I will see what I can do about having you take my place in Wonderland while I remain here in this Metro, I’m assured you wont be opposed?” he stated rather simply. Feeling a slight ease of tension on the body, Jervis let Vincent keep control while he disappeared into the background. ”—Of course not, I would love that… where are we headed?” Vincent slant his eyes and clicks his tongue thoughtfully while thrusting his hands into his coat and continued his walk down the alley. ”—Wherever we want to go.”

Cheshy climbed down the her building, sensing someone of Wonderland. She sniffed the air as she neared the Hat shoppe. Peering into the window, she bared her teeth in a grin, seeing that it was empty. Then she jumped to the ground and padded into the alley, silent as the death.

With Jervis temporarily out of the picture, Vincent had too enjoy his moment of triumph, on top of that the caped Crusader was not very well doing his part, somewhere Vincent wondered if he died, skipped town? For all the stories that Jervis had told him about the Batman, he seemed hardly the impressive sort, and Vincent Tetch was assured that if needed the Red Queen, if she was done willy milling about could easily take out any such dictation. Hatter would stop a moment however, a similar vibration was being showered his way, familiar as if a certain pulse of life was stalking him.

Instantly the name came too him and he grinned, "--So glad too know theres more then one grinning Cat in this city, Cheshire." turning some on his heel, Vincent "Tetch" in his comandeered body, would slip his gaze in the direction of the feline. "--So what brings you round these parts? I am rather assured it is not for the tea, or the trees, heaven forbid they not have their own Jabberwock here, though Jervis has told me of a being named Killer Croc that is much like our friend the scaley creepy crawly Jabber." he finished rather idly while casually smoothing out the wrinkles in his coat.

The Queen of hearts Traveled with Zephyr's body, which had indeed accepted the new presence quite well. The girl was still there, though truly just sitting back and sharing information on what they were seeing, ready to jump up if they should face any trouble. Of course, her majesty could have traveled with some guards, but that would have required waiting until hosts were found for them. besides, the girl assured her that she could handle any trouble which arose. So, for the time, the Queen was simply taking in the sights of the city, though she had insisted on changing the girl's outfit before they left. The girl had insisted on keeping her concealed weapons, and the queen had not protested. Not until her guards would be able to come with her.

They were traveling towards what Zephyr knew to be the hat shop, suggesting quite logically that the hatter might be within, but the had not even reached it before they heard voices, and turned the corner to find none other than a man dressed like a Hatter.
That IS the hatter. Well, our hatter at least. Shall I talk to him and see if he is yours as well? the girl asked.
Very well, if you insist. It should be amusing to see if he might recognize me. So the Queen slid back with ease, allowing the girl to smile brightly.
"Mr. Hatter!" she waved, indeed acting like a child.
"There you are, I've been looking all over for you! I was hoping you would go with me to explore Wonderland, but since you weren't around, I had to go all by myself. You'll never believe who I ran into..." she ran forward, attempting to loop a single arm in his, and giving a knowing grin. The Queen glimmered behind her eyes, cold and confident and ALWAYS in power, but she waited to see if he would notice or not, Zephyr watching to see if it was the same hatter, or the other one she had heard of.

Hatter found that strangely at times Jervis’ nervous habits would come into play, for which he himself had no control, like the constant fiddlings with his tie, or the smoothings out of his suit, though he had been sure too have it pressed neatly and dry cleaned. Wiping at his mouth Vincent casually turned his attentions away from the feeble cat, and swung that haunting gaze towards Zephyr, by the looks of it, Jervis’ facial appearance had not changed he still had the same eerie grin, blonde hair and distinguished nose, it was however in his eyes, a sort of haunting darkness like the calm before a great storm, something that left you waiting with your gut clenched for something terrible too arrive. Vincent would speak up,”—My Dear, I am doing my best too have us both avoid that place for now for fear if I cross over we may not be able too return. Though I do wonder…” he added while stroking his chin, ”—If it is as simple as us breaking apart from one another in the center of the portal within the Funhouse, Tetch going one way and I the other?” when Vincent caught that same familiar glimmer in the young girls eye he had seen so many times before, he gasped

”—Can it be?! My Hearted Queen, behind the guise of the Pirate Queen?” he stood immobile for a moment, barking an order at his own body, ”—Tetch! Kneel, this is your future Queen!” Instantly Jervis gasped some, eyes widening as he took a knee before her removing his Hat out of respect, though for a Hatter that was only reserved for the highest of royalty, afterall he was a Hatter. Before long however the ever curious Tetch would rise up and circle around like the scientist he was, and admire the Zephyr Queen Queen Hearts. ”—So it seems too have worked, though I fear that heroes are working against us too close the portal…terrible indeed.” Once more a hush of life would sound and Tetch would have dissapeared too make way for Vincent,”—Dammit Jervis! If we weren’t sharing the same body, I’d have smacked you…these are QUEENS here, not a pair of damned Guinea Pigs, do show them an ounce of respect and act like a Hatter!” before long the joined pair would straighten and nod their heads. ”—So my Queen, have you mind too remain in Gotham as well, or just passing through?” he cooes.

In an instant moment, the Queen of Hearts resumed control, her form straightening and the feel of a child leaving in an instant.
"Very good, Vincent, so glad you could recognize me beneath this form." Her eyes drifted over to the Cheshire Cat next, noting it was here as well.
"Ah, and it seems the duchess's dear cat has made it over as well. How wonderful, as I was wondering where all my lovely subjects had gone off to." she said the last with just a hint of anger, outraged that they had simply left without her permission, but turned then to look around at the city.
"Zephyr has been quite the dear, not only volunteering her body, though who would not be honored to share their body with me I do not know, but she has been sharing a good deal of information with me about this realm as well. It seems beyond this dreary city, is an entire world in disorder. If you ask me, the poor dears here could use a proper Queen..." She turned a smile to the two, make that three, before her, that said quite clearly she would not only be staying, but as Vincent suggested, she would be ruling. Pirate's voice spoke up from in her mind,
"That's a lot easier said than done, no ruler has ever manage to capture the entire world, though countries or even continents have been ruled before." the Red Queen answered.
"Well, we shall see about that. In the very least, this city should make a decent starting place, and eventually we can spread out from there." She smiled, turning to Hatter.
"Vincent dear, am I to understand that this man you share your body with is responsible for our access to this world? But this is hardly the place to speak on such matters! I expect you know of a place where we might sit and speak? Let us away there. I would very much like to here how the two of you managed this, and there we might speak of future matters to attend to." She waved a hand to tell him to lead the way, and made to follow him, before pausing suddenly, the feel in the air around her darkening a bit.
"And Hatter, I do not suggest you try anything funny, just because my guards are not here yet. I have them positioned where your body is in my dear Wonderland, and if I should fail to return, then I am afraid you will lose your hat. And your head. I am not so foolish as to come here alone without taking such safety measures." she informed quite seriously, well aware of his nasty little habits, even if he was showing good manners for the time.

Landing on a rooftop above the scene unfolding, Nightwing looks down to find, who else, but Jervis Tetch.

"I should have figured..."

Taking out his miniature, high-powered binoculars from one of his glove pouches, he crouched on the building's overhang and watched Jervis and the two women with him converse. d**k had to wonder if these people were Wonderland inhabitants or something else, but he couldn't be certain just yet.

Even so, if they were, he had to take extra precaution. He had no information about what they could do in this world, and Bruce was still unavailable. If he had to go at this alone, it was going to a miracle he didn't get killed...just like every other time.

"Okay Hatter...let's see what you're up to..."

The Cheshire Cat glowered at the Queen's words. "Sorry, but I am no pet..." she purred, though her voice seemed to drip with poison. Ears twitching, she sensed Nightwing--but knowing that she'd be able to escape, she did not bother to warn the two. Her tail curled and she waited for them to lead the way. The air stank of garbage and electricity, gas and pollution. She didn't like it nearly as much as Wonderland, but it was a new territory so she'd take her share of exploration.
