((You guys post what you got too, kk? Add to what I have if you want to, it's your world too.))
((still need to add an opening paragraph...))

The city of Port Sarim shined like a diamond on the horizon in the midday sun. Once you could see land while out on the great ocean, it wasn't hard to find this port. The eastern border of the city is a large harbor, that can accommodate many, many trade ships as they leave the mainland and return from inhabited exotic islands out in the great ocean. The harbor district has many taverns and inns for the many surly sailors to come and find a bed on dry land for a change. The bars range from tame to wild and dangerous, depending on one's particular flavor for the night life.

The prestigious cleric's academy on the north side of the city is well known all over the lands. It's reputation and professionalism have even earned it government backing by the port's administrative council. It is here where anyone, with a bit of monetary backing, can acquire and learn the abilities, traits and techniques to be one of the land's many healers. White mages, clerics, and doctors all can learn their trade here, and make an honest living out in the field. The trainees and graduates often undertake mercenary work and travel abroad while in training to heal and remedy those fallen in the land's many outposts, villages and cities. Through these missions, the academy earns the funds necessary to keep such a institute up and running.

A few miles south of Port Sarim is a sunken marsh...

((wrote this earlier))
Quote:

The sun was starting to dim as it lowered over horizon of the open sea. the cry of seagulls could be heard as sailors and seadogs walked across the pier going about their business. It was about the time of day to start rushing your chores before you run out of daylight.

A few of the sailors that had finished their work already laughed to each other as they entered the Mermaid's Tail. It was a small tavern located near the pier, with the accommodation of surly seamen and drunken pirates in mind. A good business move of the Sarim Cleric's Academy, who owned the deed to the pub. The profits they made off the pub could keep tuitions low for the students that attended classes there.

Rumor is, the brigade has launched several raids on many of the other syndicates and guilds that lie below the strees of Sarim. Now all of Sarim's underworld is after the Elite group of Bandits. Some Effective RP Tips and Guidelines

Your character is not a god. Please tone down super-powerful characters. Every character has an Achilles' Heel...when creating a character, make sure that it has a weakness, and know what it is.

When engaged in battle, be sure not to auto-hit. Only the character's owner has the right to heal, hurt, or kill their character. Use open-ended attacks, give your opponent a chance to fight back. A good roleplayer and author knows when to take hits and when to avoid them.

A finishing technique is an attack that you can't use unless it is absolutely needed. Used as a last resort. It's usually flashy and extravagant, and when its all over, you have no strength to attack anymore. So if you didn't finish it, you're dead, but if you did... you rest. etc. etc.

Every character's personality can be classified by two axises: The Moral Axis, and The Ethical Axis.
W.O.T.C.
The moral axis has three positions: good, neutral and evil. Good characters generally care about the welfare of others. Neutral people generally care about their own welfare. Evil people generally seek to harm the others' welfare.

The ethical axis has three positions as well: lawful, neutral, and chaotic. Lawful people generally follow the social rules as they understand them. Neutral people follow those rules find convenient or obviously necessary. And chaotic people seek to upset the social order and either institute change, or simply create anarchy.
Try taking this test to figure out your character's alignment. Try to answer all questions from the point of view of your character.
DnD Alignment Test.
Some things to keep in mind about the results...
The result is hardly followed to the letter. The deviations from the stock stereotype is what makes your character unique. It's merely a guideline to give a general idea of your character's alignment in the world in two simple words.

Rayne has long red/auburn hair that reaches down to the middle of her back, vivid green eyes glow in the light of the moon against pale porcelain skin. Her black pants are slightly baggy, sitting on her hips, the bottoms are tight at the ankles and sit over her calf high black boots so that she does not tip on them. Her hands are covered by fingerless black gloves, the leather band that holds her blades to her arms sit slightly above her wrists. A large knife rests on her right hip covered by her white coat that flutters behind her in the wind. The hood is normally pulled up over her head, blocking vision of her eyes, because of her height, only 5’6” no one is able to try and peek if the urge hit them unless they were shorter then her which is rare. A long silver chain sits around her neck, as thin as a necklace, it is used as a whip to disarm her enemies and sometimes, decapitate them.

>Alignment: Evil
>Personality:
Rayne is unpredictable. Her moods change quicker than the weather during a Tropical Storm. She tends to keep her distance from others when she can and does not like to be told what to do by anyone, especially authority. Any friends that Rayne does make, she protects with her life and will not turn against someone she cares about even if it means her own life. Anyone with the intention to harm her or someone she cares about will not be tolerated and will be dealt with at the first given chance. In crowds she is extremely nervous and tends to become skittish which is never a good thing. Touching her is usually the worst mistake you could possibly make with her, depending on her mood. During a mission, she has no emotions and tends to take out anything that gets in her path, only if that problem is persistent and she has no choice but to eliminate it. When extremely nervous she loses concentration on her power and at times, she has caused damage to not only items around her, but people as well.

>Character Bio/Background:
-Rayne was born in a quiet town that normally kept to themselves. The town is further away from others in the center of a thick set of woods. There is only one trail that leads in and out of the town and in order to pass their boarder you must have a right to be there. Ever since she was able to walk, she was under training. Her Mother was no help, always being abused physically and mentally by her Father, a professional assassin who was raised to have no emotions, no compassion. Unfortunately for Rayne’s father, she wasn’t completely heartless, she was more like her Mother whom had a heart for everything around her. She was home schooled and forced to train every day. If what she was doing was not for her studies or training or something she was told to do by her Father, she was punished for it. At age eight Rayne whitnessed her Mother's death by her Father's own hands while sneaking around in the middle of the night. Her Father never knew that Rayne had witnessed what happened to her Mother, instead she played like any innocent eight year old child would do and simply asked where her “Mommy” was. Naturally her Father lied to her and told her that her Mother left them, which was partially true, but not in the way he meant for her to take it. Her training continued every day and every night, there was no such thing as a rest. Rayne took it all, only so that she could do as she planned. Take her Father down and avenge her Mother.

At age fifteen she was doing missions on her own, most were taken for her by her Father. She learned quickly that these missions had to be done one way or another unless she wished to be treated like an animal and search for food on her own until her next mission came along, which could sometimes take weeks if not months. During summer, late into the year her Father fell into debt with a few people that Rayne didn’t know about, most of her Father’s life was a secrete that she never really questioned. When her Father’s time was up, he informed her that she was going to be the payment. Refusing to belong to someone, Rayne killed her Father that night, not only for herself but for her Mother as well. The very same night Rayne took all of her belongings and left the Town, taking one of the secrete paths out, away from the security that covered most of the woods to attack any intruders. Shortly after leaving, she came across a small cat that quickly attached itself to her and saved her life many times. The small animal named Nala can take three different forms, that of a small black house cat, a large Leopard and a little smaller then a horse. She has Telepathic powers and is able to speak the human language if necessary. Normally she only speaks with Rayne through telepathy. Ever since, Rayne and Nala have been together, doing missions to survive on their own.
