about downloading meshes

I been thinking about all the sims I down load from modthesims2. a lot of the skins I down load say "if you want to use this skin you MUST use the mesh some one else made" there are so many people who make new meshes and people who recolor those meshes that a lot of time I end up downloading required meshes from people who make skins I dont want just to gain the recolors I DO want. it becomes an endlis loop of chasing links and trying to get new meshes from every one. its like all these artists are forcing people to viset all the other artists. and so a lot of people have high download counts not because they have good skins but because they have good meshes that are required for the good skins. just an observation I wanted to discuss. any comments?

Are meshes the things that let you customize downloadable characters? I'm really no good with this, I don't even know what they are called. I saw a video on YouTube with the characters as my favorite people that you can't create on the Sims 2. If it is, please tell me a site where I can download people!

oh, go to sims 2 website,register ur game and, click exchange, then search for the people you wanna download (celebs, cartoon characters,tv. stars...)
