I was listening in Art History class today and reading in my text book, and other history books, that Hindi (the national religion of India) was a state made relgion to keep the people in order, and not be "enlightend" by Buddhism. The governments of India felt threatened by Buddha's teachings of paths to self discovery, wisdom, etc.

If this is true Hindi is a fake. So this means millions of people have be deceived?

Fact: Hindi belivers (the majority of India) have been and still are, persicuting non-belivers. Muslims, Chistians, Catholics, and Jews seem very much unwelcome among there own people (nationality). How do I know this? I ask. I asked almost all my neighbors who hail form there. They love they counrty, but they feel unloved by them. Threats, actions and all sorts of bad things have made them seek a better life there in America or somethere else.

This leads me to another point. Persicution going unchecked in India. The government pobably doesn't care because they are Hindi as well? Well thats not fair. Not fair to ANYONE.

Any thoughts on this?

I think it's terrible! People shouln't be pursicuted for any reason! Although, if the Christians/Jews/Muslims were ignoring local customs and festivals or, trying to convert people who didn't want to be converted, I could partly understand.
On the Hindi matter: Where did they get the idea for Hindi from? Was it based on something?

Well like most Ancient Religions, thins "new" religion was based on elements and matter, as well as "gifts"/ luck.

Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Greek, and Ancient Roman, are basically what Hindi is, Just change the names of the gods.
