At her blush he chuckled, pleased, and then he picked up his flute again and frowned, thinking of a song. "Okay," he murmured, putting the flute to his lips and glaring his fingers into place. He held the wood between his teeth and hummed to himself for a moment. Then he started playing, the flute emitting shrieking noises that overpowered any actual notes he managed to hit. It was vaguely recognizable -- maybe -- if you had heard the song before -- and if you listened really carefully -- and imagined parts of it. When he was done he lowered the flute and fell flat on his back, spread-eagled, and laughed. "Wow, that was so bad! I really need to play more."

well, she could not lie to herself, it was not the best. but she guessed that she was no better.
"it just takes practice" she said enthusiastically. reaching down and gently strumming the strings of her harp.
she giggled as wall as he fall backwards, and flopped back herself, into the bush.
it was shady under the leaves, and allot cooler on her skin then out there. pushing herself into the comfort she peeked out at Dev.
"hey!" she said giggling and smiling at the silly Satyr "you wanna be friends?"

"Yeah, lots of practice." A rock was pressing into his back and he shifted a bit to get more comfortable. He folded his arms behind his head and watched a mass of thick clouds glide slowly across the sky, humming under his breath. The bush's leaves rustled as Mahy fell among them, and Dev lifted his head, laughing when he saw her peeking out at him. What a funny faun, he thought.
Her question he considered seriously, propping himself up on an elbow and stroking his chin as he thought. Not that it was such a big decision. He liked having friends. Before he said anything he sat up purposefully and stuck his flute behind his ear. Then he broke into a grin and said, "'Course I do!"

She waited expectantly while he seemed to think it over. Getting worried for a moment. Mouth slightly open and brow rose, would he want to be her friend? Or was her harp playing that bad?
But her face immediately broke out into a wide, very bright smile as he said yes.
Cheering loudly, he rolled back vanishing into the bush. White glints visible every now and then through the leaves.
“yaaay! Oh we will be gooood friends!” She said, from the bush
“We will go fishing, and gather berries, climb trees, practice our Music together, GASP”
And her head was once again popping out of the leaves
“You can play Music now for my dancing!!” her eyes were wide with excitement

He leaned forward, sharing her excitement. "Oh yeah I could! That'll be fun!" He imagined the two of them performing for the whole tribe. Of course they were both much older and looking very dashing and elegant and impressive, and her dancing captivated the eyes of the satyrs and fauns as his playing did their hearts... Something like that anyway. Laughing at his weird daydream and at Mahy in the bush, he hopped to his feet. He particularly liked one of the ideas she'd thrown out. "Hey, I know, let's go fishing. It's a nice day and I haven't got anything to do, and fishing sounds fun."

at mention of fishing she paused, blinking a couple of times in thaught,
well... sure she had mentioned Fishing, she had already heard others talking about how much fun it was.
"Okay!" she cheered only to pause again
"um... but... I don't know how to fish... I've never done it before"
she didn't even know where to find a lake to fish in. the aria was not very familiar to her, only this large shaded aria she stayed at most.
she started to crawl out of the bushes, struggling for a moment as her fur and hair got caught in the branches, but soon worked her way out. to flop down in front of Dev
"do you know how to fish? you can teach me" she added with a hopeful smile

He scratched his head. "Um... I never have either." Stifling a sheepish laugh he helped her up. "How hard can it be? I know where there's a pond nearby. We can just sort of figure it out." He turned this way and that, getting his bearings, then grinned and pointed. "This way. Let's go!"- End -
