I feel bad for Serenity and Endymion...most parents are peeved at being stuck with their kids until college...but over 900 years? Ouch.

Sage of Chaos I feel bad for Serenity and Endymion...most parents are peeved at being stuck with their kids until college...but over 900 years? Ouch. Plus, the children doesn't age as fast as normal people do. Think of having to deal with a moody "teenager" for a couple hundread years. sad

Well that's an interesting point of view .Like some of the others have said we never really see any of the citizens of crystal Tokyo, but why is that really? Are they really even there ,or has something happened that left only the senshi , Neo Queen Serenity, Chibi usa, and king Endymion alone there ?

I was under the impression that Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion were reincarnated forms of Usagi-chan and Mamoru-san, and therefore not the same people. But now that you mention it, that is a good point... It's been several years since I've seen R season, and I've never read the manga for any of the seasons, so I too am a little rusty on the details. I don't remember seeing anyone in Crystal Tokyo except the royal family, or in fact learning much about the city at all. BUT, if it was what your friend said it was (fascinating point, btw), I would agree that promoting a society like that would be utterly wrong. Whenever an individual's right to freely choose their own path in life is infringed upon, it is wrong. (Unless the individual in question has comitted a crime such as theft or murder, at which point their rights change dramatically) Ruling over a city and forcing it to be a utopia is almost as bad as ruling over a city and being a tyrant, terrorizing your citizens into paying you taxes and such like.

But now that you mention it, that is a good point... No, actually, Usagi can't be in the same spacial area as NQS, and Chibi Usa is named 'after her mother'. They just took on the names of their past lives when they put crowns on their heads.... ...The tyrants >.>

Upon reading this... I realise that there are certain things i ahve come to realise about this" Future " of sailormoon...
That , if it exists, i will become nothing, but a mere shell of my former self.
Why? because of the " Purification" factor. it takes away certain emotions, that although negative, make me live and feel alive...
I would feel that i had lost something and live without a purpose, Wandering around, being nice and good... That is not really my idea of a perfect" utopia"...
But then again, I was shocked to see that Chibiusa was 903 years old... omigosh! Does that mean that every parent have to deal with 902 year old child???
That would be horrible. I would 'nt want to live so long...
Now, to end this, I still like sailormoon, but I dislike the desription of" Purification"...

It is my impression that they have free will. Maybe it's because I read to much into things, but it states at one point that people age according to their maturity, and since people are made to mature at a point they must be living life and learning lessons, whcih is a trail and error basis, and if the senshi are still around to keep the peace then crime and war does still exist... just not as much, and knowing the kind of person that Usagi is and what she will become, maybe the people don't have much to disagree with in the first place if the nation is healthy and peaceful.
If there was no free will and if the Queen was this evil monarch, would those kids really have had the stones to make fun of her only daughter?

The crystal's power effects the way a person ages... Usagi had chibi-usa at age 22 and became Queen of Crystal Tokyo and hasn't aged since. Chibiusa isn't aging because she is not mentally maturing at all. Which is why NQS wanted her to back in time, to go through hardships and grow up. In the manga, near the end, Chibiusa does look a little older, but maybe it's just me.

I think this is too good of a topic to let die.
I'm currently running a crystal tokyo based Sailor Moon RPG (formerly on my own sailor moon site, now on sailormoon.org!).
So many points here... about how the government is run, why the people were banished... Whether to go with the longevity argument or not... in the Dub it says that the earth wasn't re-awoken UNTIL the beginning of the 30th century... but the proportions would be opposite if Small Lady was really 900 crying

Zan Alexander's words make me think...
so, what is neo crystal tokyo like?
I guess nobody will ever know.
maybe they have free will but lack of choices on how long they want to live?
