Abbán Elliot Donoghue — Lieutenant Ransomite

Alright, so their purpose was clear. There was a senshi, and they needed to do what they could to catch and detain them. They were thankfully closer than Elliot had previously estimated, and he picked up a bit of speed to try and intercept their target, to cut them off. Her off.

Well, there were plenty of alleys, at least. A fortunate hold-over from before cars were a thing. So it did not take too terribly long for him to catch up with his teammate. It was then he saw the flashes of colour and fabric that denoted the senshi. A quick glance, and he was reasonably sure he had a way he could cut her off. A nod and he split down another side alley, keeping the overall path in mind so as not to get lost.

That would not be good for his image.

However, while he didn't get lost and he did get a better look at the senshi they were chasing, he wasn't quite able to get close enough to actually catch her. There were people in the way and he wasn't about to run some kid over in his pursuit. The kid had nothing to do with it and had the right of way, besides. It wasn't their fault they'd come out of nowhere at the last second as he emerged from the alley.

So he apologized hurriedly to the kid and the kid's parents and continued the pursuit.

Emmy saw the look that she was given and just gave a shrug back. There was only so much she could do about the crowds, after all, but now that she was closer, she looked at the surrounding area and saw a few alleyways that might suit her purposes.. She saw a flash of movement in one. It seemed Elliot had finally caught up.

She headed towards one on the other side of the street, dodging her way through yet another throng of people before she got out of the main thoroughfare. At that point, she no longer had to care about appearances, so she broke into a sprint.

Unfortunantly, the building that she thought she would be able to just easily run around to cut off the senshi was a lot longer than it had looked from the other angle, and by the time Emmy emerged on the other side, it looked like the senshi was already further ahead.

Gisela was jostled once. Twice. Her head was starting to hurt. The shadows here creeping back in. She could feel dark tongues licking at her ankles. Wrapping around her wrists. She was jostled a third time and she nearly fell into Emilia with a pained grunt. Somewhere off in the distance, she registered Elliot shifting through the background but...

Gisela knew it was too late.

It was too late and she knew it in her bones. They hadn't closed enough distance. Hadn't used their time wisely enough. They hadn't... done anything.

And the senshi was going to get away and who knew what they were going to report on what happened that night?
