Selma Alexia
Poison "Princess"

Guild: Sabertooth
Rank: A-Rank
Magic: Poison Dragon Slaying

As the monitor to Selma's cell started streaming, teh silluette of the young Dragon Slayer was clear, chained to the walls. She had fallen to her knees, hanging from the chains holding her from escaping. She had tried again and again but her bonds didn't seem to give in. Angered and clearly worried for what was happening to her and her lifelong friend, Selma was still not disheartened. She stood up with what was left of her energy and grabbed the chains. Once again, she tried what had proved futile until now. Break the chains from the wall. Should it have been a normal prison binding, she would have had no trouble destroying it, but these people had made preparations. "Come oooon, come on, come on... C'moooooon" She shouted in her head as she was trying to free herfself. Still, her hold to the wall didn't budge at all. The only thing that ended up happening was her poisonous blood affecting her, causing her to cough a blackish red liquid, making her lose her tight grip to the chains and fall down. The force of the impact took a toll on her wrists, as they started bleeding. "Looks like a blessing can always be a curse in disquise, huh?" She murmured to herself as she looked the liquid she coughed. Her own blood. What was essential to keep her alive was slowly, but surely, eating away at her now. Even though her magic was stripped away, her blood remained poisonous, as it had become that way due to her exposure to the Poison Dragon Slaying Magic. Now that she didn't had it's protection, her own life was stripped away by her own body. "Still, it might not be as bad at it looks. It may be eating away at me now, but any open wound could prove a weapon, should Lady Luck decide to smile at me" She pondered as she lowered her head, closing her eyes under the curtain of her hair. "I just hope she will before I am but an empty husk" She told herself, before Morpheus took her in his arms, as her exhaustion finally caught up to her

Shaw was frantically scribbling down notes. Even though she was recording all the reactions, sometimes the camera footage wasn’t a high enough quality to catch all the micro-expressions. The split second crinkle of the nose that displayed a world of disgust. The curl of the upper lip in contempt of what they were watching.
She huffed a laugh at Raine, "Yes dear, it’s so different to what you used to do," she said sarcastically, "I wonder if your guild mates would agree with that. I mean, Octavia is innocent as can be but you nearly tore her throat out. How is that situation different? Personally, I find it worse. She didn’t attack you, she didn’t even insult you. So where in that are you able to justify your actions? Whether it was you in control or not, the two of you claim to be righteous in your murders." The doctor’s face was the picture of condescending amusement, "What was it they called you in the newspapers? Oh yes, The Grim Reaper. A man in the shadows that kills the men and women he deems to be bad. Celebrated by some, hated by others. But by all standards, a cruel monster who preys on those weaker than himself," she stated.
Walking into Kaya’s cell, Shaw looked at the monitor which showed the numbers of the dragon slayer’s vitals, taken from the pulse readers in her wrists, "My word is your heart pounding like mad. Way above average. I wonder what’s more prevalent; the anger? The fear?" she asked rhetorically. She was sure after she went back to study all the footage she’d figure it out because she doubted Kaya would tell her the truth about how she felt right now.
Swapping to Raine’s cell, she checked his vitals as well, "Well, you’re a mess. How is it a little girl is weathering this storm of emotion better than you? I guess without that safety blanket of crazy you’re just a pathetic shell of a man." She tilted the blood mage’s chin up to look at his tear-filled eyes, "You know, you actually have a similar expression to Octavia right now. I imagine you might have the same thoughts; wondering what’s going to happen next," She smirked, releasing her hold and removing herself from the room before retrieving an item. Not a DVD but a linking device, "Wonder no more. Let me show you something much much more present," she said. Pressing a few buttons, the screens flashed on to a girl in a cell much like their own. She had purple hair that was drenched in sweat and she was covered in a black liquid. She wasn’t saying much. "This is a live feed. Hardly recognisable anymore, is she, Raine?" the doctor asked, "Another one who isn’t as powerful as she thought she was." She allowed the video feed to play for a while, watching as the two prisoners viewed the poison dragon slayer in her cell. Raine would know what was happening. Shaw was certain he had a lot of information on his guild mates including the dangers that surrounded them. This specific danger was to do with the fact Selma’s own blood was poisonous to her should her magic ever fail. And it was slowly killing her. "I’m sure you know what’s happening. Since she arrived we’ve barely had to torture her. She’s doing this all to herself. And she’s not really misbehaved either because we’ve got her very special friend. It’s shocking how effective an exceed is in controlling a dragon slayer." The doctor frowned, she was still annoyed that they hadn’t got their hands on Yuki. Capturing Selma and Xerxes had been a strike of luck in that they’d caught Ymir completely off-guard. Kaya had more time to get her flying rat out of the picture. However, the videos seemed to be doing their desired job for now.

This was pretty much the reason she never attempted to get one as a partner, despite being a dragon slayer. They were weak, and utterly useless. Unless she found a nice strong one, it was a definite no from her. "Stop me?? Look at you now!! Are you really in any position to defend the case? What? Are you going to stop me? I don't see you stopping me right here right now. I could leave at any moment to claim your little kitty friend and there's is nothing you can do or say." She mocked Kaya, threatening Yuuki's very life. Of course, her claim wasn't set in stone. She wasn't going to leave and go out of her way to make risks, she just wanted to threaten the water slayer or atleast try to get a scare out of her. She really enjoyed seeing the fear in her enemies eyes, any panic she enjoyed most from her most hated enemies. "Besides, my fire will just cut through your weak water. Don't flatter yourself, you're nothing but trash that hasn't been taken out to the curb yet." Kimura insulted even more, holding no care about Kaya. She knew about her little powers, to her, she was weak and forever would be. All light mages were in that same regard.

Kimura looked over towards her partner, hearing there was some news apparently. She listened, but the more he spoke, the more she came in love to hearing. And it was glorious, wonderful news to say in the least. She was fairly updated on what was happening, but the others were just getting back to her butt poorly slow. Thank god for the ones she can trust more. "Really?? I had not been familiar, we have a little exceed at our care?" She asked with a very dark grin, loving those words. Just cause the kitty wasn't Kaya's or Rain's didn't mean it wouldn't be effective. On another note, it wasn't Yuuki. But, it'd make do. Better than nothing, so to speak. Her eyes glanced toward the trapped feline, surrounded by bars inside of a tiny cage. "That's perfect!! What a shame that poor thing got caught as well. It'd be a shame if it ended up badly hurt, or even more, possibly dead." Kimura smirked slyly glancing between Kaya and Raine, things were just getting better by the minute. She was proud of the achievements of most of her members, sooner or later, the plans were all coming together and very soon would come to completion.

            Raine growled,
"Misunderstood? Is that what you think I am, potato boy? Think again. I have a thick enough skin to take whatever Andrea or anyone else says about me. I don’t wish for others to understand." Glaring straight into Ciaran’s eyes, gold meeting pale yellow, the blood mage sneered, "Considering your taste in women... if that’s what you could call that brat of a master you have... I think your standards of perfection are very limited. There was nothing perfect about what they did to me,” he stated before glimpsing at Shaw, "It is different. What happened with Octavia was a mistake," he said, almost shuddering with his words. A mistake. Yes. A mistake on his part though. Thinking back, he was the one who thought it would be fine. He thought he was ok, that caging the monster inside of him for that long was a good thing. He’d been making an effort to maintain control. But how wrong he had been and he’d found out all too late. When that blood, that perfect blood had splashed into the sink and it’s intoxicating smell had not drawn out his counter-part but had caused him to charge forward in his mind, "I’m not foolish to fear myself," Raine replied to the dark ecriture wizard, "I would be a fool not to. But as for the feelings you think I have..." He paused. In this instance, much to his his displeasure, Ciaran was right. Octavia had slipped past his defences with so much ease that day. It was her forgiveness, her lack of pity, her desire not to blame him. All of it had blindsided him and unsteadied his core. But he wasn’t going to admit that out loud. He might be unable to lie, but it didn’t mean he couldn’t just stay quiet in answer to that question and move to the next. "What would have happened is irrelevant now. She’s safe," he said, firmly believing his own words. He didn’t think that Blood Raine would try to pull the same stunt twice.
He found himself able to produce a smirk of amusement at Shaw. He’d forgotten about his infamous title - The Grim Reaper. She wasn’t wrong, he did prey on those weaker than him, but wasn’t that exactly what those people did too? Shooting a child for refusing to carry transport drugs is a lot worse than what he did in his opinion. Looking up, he watched the doctor enter Kaya’s cell, commenting on her vitals. As relieved as he was that Kaya didn’t totally blame him for the things Blood Raine did, he wondered whether there was an underlying anger or fear of him. One that was naturally inbuilt in all people, designed to make them naturally fear things like strangers, wild animals... and men with ruthless split personalities. He tried to lean away from the doctor as she tilted his head up but instead had to settle for what was probably an unconvincing glare.
"Empty shell, huh? Just like you." he said matter-of-factly. However confident he tried to portray himself, Raine’s demeanour was showing many more faults than he thought possible. With the mixture of the sedative that constantly caused him to switch personalities, the hallucinations he’d suffered, the dull ache of his broken arm and the searing burns that were yet to heal, having his childhood memories thrown at him alongside his encounter with Octavia, who could blame him for starting to crack. And it was only going to get worse. Far worse. Especially on the mention of a familiar name. Selma. The A-class poison dragon slayer, daughter and student of the poison dragon Toxus. Hadn’t she been taken on a job with Ymir? His breath caught, eyes wide with horror. Black-red liquid was spattered on the floor. Blood. There was so much of it on the screen he could almost smell it. Her purple hair was dirtied and her body was bruised from what looked like a recent fight. She was a year older than him but certainly didn’t look it but she seemed much like a little girl by how weak she looked, "What did you do to her?" he asked quietly, not taking his eyes off the screen. He could hear the slayer mumbling to herself on the feed. As the words left Shaw’s mouth he remembered. He remembered how Selma had told him her blood was poisonous so he should never try taste it. "You... you can’t do this," he said, eyes flicking between all three of his enemies, "Shes dying. You can’t let her die!" he yelled. "You call me heartless, a monster, yet you're letting an innocent girl be destroyed from the inside?!" he snarled at them, "And on top of all that you torture her mind by taking away Xerxes!” He was breathing heavily, emotions; anger, hatred, worry. They were all boiling to the surface, "Do anything you want to me but don't let her die," he said, more subdued in his statement as it came out as more of a plea.

☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

Kimura would never lay a finger on Yuki. Her words were nothing but an empty threat. Or, so, Kaya had to believe. She couldn’t let herself think about what would happen if the Fire Dragon Slayer were to ever act on it. She’ll never get Yuki, she repeated in her mind, tamping down the small spike of fear for her Exceed. Aly and Katiki won’t let her. Head raised, she jut out her chin in defiance, “Yeah, you got me where I can’t do anything about it. But I don’t have to. My guildmates won’t let you anywhere near him. They’re on to you now. They’ll stick together no matter what and come after you for everything you’ve done. You won’t be able to hurt Yuki because you’ll be so busy trying to run away.” The younger teenager clenched her fists. “You’ll see. Then I’ll show you how strong my water is. Water always beats fire. It’s not weak to it at all. Or have you forgotten how that works?” It was well-known among those entuned to elements that fire was weaker to water. Just as water was weak to electricity or earth to wind. The guildmaster could think whatever she wanted to, believe whatever she wanted to believe, but that didn’t change the fact that water quenched fire. She would’ve loved to continue to point this out to the older Slayer, to state exactly how she felt about her flames and where she could shove them; however, Ciaran decided to interrupt with his own diatribe. Her eyes flicked to him. She winced when he clutched a handful of her hair. Another pain added, even if briefly, to those coursing throughout her body. “Then go read a book,” Kaya spat at him, her anger lacing every syllable. “My memories are mine to me. You’ve got no right to them. It’s the same with Raine’s humanity and anyone else’s. It’s not yours to give and take away! Humans aren’t meant to be mindless killing machines. We’ve got thoughts and feelings for a reason. Trying to beat that out of someone is wrong!” How could Ciaran be so blasé about tearing down someone’s humanity? How could any of them? The Russians had tried and look where it had led.

Kaya became more incensed by the second. Her heart pounded in her chest, beating rapidly from the exertion of her struggle mixed together with her anger. Shaw’s arrival by her bedside did nothing to assuage it either. “I’m not afraid of you bakas,” she said in a low growl. Perhaps it was unwise of her to be so. For, as much as she hated to admit it, they had the upper hand. They were in control here and made sure to drive that point home every chance they got. First it had been physical torture. Now it was mental and emotional torment. Each scene or memory they were forced to watch was worse than the last. From the murder of her master and guildmate to her painful memory to Raine’s troubling encounter with Octavia, they all seemed to build on one another, to emphasize how desperate and dire their situation truly was. An influx of imagery and information neither of the light mages wanted. An unending stream of anguish. One that proceeded onward. This time with an unexpected twist.

Ciaran slipped from the cells to retrieve something. She heard the staccato of amusement in his tone. What does he have? It had to be worthwhile for him to be so highly pleased and to believe Kimura would be as well. What is it? Kaya found herself dreading the answer yet unable to suppress her innate curiosity. That same familiar yet unfamiliar scent she caught a whiff of earlier permeated the air once again. She fought the urge to crane her neck, to give any inkling she was interested. Ciaran didn’t make them wait long. The Slayer stared uncomprehendingly for a moment. A cage? Why’d he have a cage? A streak of gray shifted in the contraption. Fear surged forth as realization dawned on her. Yuki?! No way. It couldn't be him! That didn’t make sense. She’d know his smell instantly. This one was too different to be him yet…it was still an Exceed. Its gray fur accented with glowing runes which pulsed vibrantly in the dimmer lighting. Who-- Ciaran’s voice boomed heartily across the cell area, answering the question before it was even fully formed. Selma? The Poison Dragon Slayer from Sabertooth?! Kaya heard rumors about her magic. A potent poison capable of causing anywhere from mild sickness to death. Their paths hadn’t crossed before, but she knew enough to understand that such a magic in the hands of Dragons’ Bane wasn’t good. Matters were darkened further by the presence of Xerxes. With him locked up in a cage, separated from his slayer, it would be simple to control Selma. She knew because it would be the same for her if Yuki were captive.

Shock and concern flickered in her eyes. “What are you gonna do to him?” The Dark Écriture mage waved off her question, calling instead for yet more video feed to be played on the monitors. For an instant, Kaya felt her heart drop upon seeing Kai’s form come to life on one side of the screen. Two scientists and two guards stood in formations around him. She didn’t want to see him tortured and possibly killed. Hadn’t they shown enough of her friends’ pain and suffering? Obviously not. The camera started to zoom in on the occupants of the room. Whoever was operating the camera likely wanted to get a better view of what they were doing. Her heart accelerated slightly. No. No, no, no, no, NO! She cried out in her thoughts. As if in response to her pleas, the video feed shuttered and wavered. Lines appeared across the screen, running up and down before going side to side. Then, with one final jitter, the feed went black, leaving only the one video live. A wave of relief flooded over her. That was one less image she’d have burned in her memory. If only she could say the same for the second video feed. With Kai’s no longer active, however, the other feed expanded until it filled the entirety of the television. Kaya’s heart leapt to her throat. Blood. Blood like she had never seen before speckled the floor and walls of Selma’s cell. Yet it was the sheer amount of it seeping from her, covering her from head to toe which worried the Water Dragon Slayer the most. What the hell is happening to her? The answer came from Shaw this time. “Wh-what?” She blinked, dumbfounded. Selma was doing this to herself? Her own poisonous blood was slowly killing her? It boggled the young girl’s mind. At least that explained what the purple-haired girl’s muttered words meant. “Why aren’t you doing anything to help her?!” Her shouts intermingled with Raine’s. To stand idly by and watch while a person’s life was syphoned away…it was cruel. Crueler still was the notion the Dragons’ Bane members couldn’t or wouldn’t do anything to stop it.

She gnawed lightly on her lower lip. If they’re not going to help then… There was just one other option. A way to save Selma from the side effects of her poisonous blood. Kaya knew it. The question was- would they let her do it? She looked at Raine. His emotions were written plainly upon his face. He was afraid for Selma. Afraid of her dying and of him being unable to stop it. It reinforced her decision. I have to give it a shot. She doesn’t deserve to hurt like that. Closing her eyes, she drew in a breath, steeling herself for what she was about to say. For what she was about to promise. “Let me help her,” she stated simply though earnestly. Eyelids slid open to reveal an imploring gaze. “I have a spell I can use. It—it pulls toxins and stuff from the blood. It’d work the same with her. It’d stop her from dying…please…” Kaya hesitated, licking her lips, “I’ll—I’ll…I’ll do whatever you want…if you just let me help her.” A distinct lilt of resignation hovered in the air. Her insides churned and writhed. She felt as if she might be sick. It had cost her so much to utter those last few words. Possibly too much.

Tucking his hand under his chin, the white-haired male smiled patronizingly at the child. And a child she truly was. To believe in such ideals as humanity and privacy was nothing short of fantasy. “Oh dear. It seems as if being a light mage has given you some false notions of the world. You’re so eager to acknowledge the light in others that you overlook the darkness residing deep within. Come now, Kaya. It’s time for you to learn the true way of this world. You will soon come to recognize it for what it is, and you will grow to enjoy your place in it. Of that, I have no doubt.” He would certainly enjoy witnessing her transition from light to dark. He desired to see the hope she clung to so desperately be extinguished. What a glorious day that would be. Until then, however, he would suffice with the smaller achievements of breaking her and Raine’s spirits. The latter seemed to be coming along a smidgen faster than the former. Cracks were forming in his defenses. “Are you so certain of that?” Ciaran lowered his hand from his chin, settling it at the small of his back along with the other. “I don’t believe you are. I mean, someone who is so self-assured would certainly not allow even the most innocent of people to slip past his walls. Yet…” He waved airily to the where the image of Octavia and Raine had once been. “She did. No, Blood Raine, I think you are kidding yourself. You want someone to understand you. Someone to share your traumatic upbringing with but who would not pity you for it…someone exactly like my dear cousin Octavia. Am I wrong?” The Dark Écriture mage rocked on the balls of his feet. He had purposefully let slip the minute detail of his relation to the Celestial Spirit mage. His curiosity of how the Blood wizard would react piqued.

Ciaran shook his head, laughing as he did so. Raine was quite entertaining at times. “Safe? There is nowhere in this world that would give her the luxury of being safe. Not from us. Not from other dark guilds. But, more especially, not from you. She trusted you that night, Blood Raine. She was in her private residence. Her sanctuary. A place supposedly closed off from danger. But,” his lips curled in a feral manner. “She let you in. Poor, sweet child could not see the monster lurking underneath. She knows now though. She’ll fear you, Raine. She may not admit to it. But she will. It’ll be in the way she skirts by you. In the way she makes excuses never to be alone with you. Yes, it won’t be obvious to anyone else, but you will know. And that is something you fear most, isn’t it? That the one person you care for…may never want to be with you again. All because he might emerge.” He placed extra emphasis on the third word, denoting Blood Raine’s potential to resurface when he so pleased. Raine would be a fool to think his psychopathic counterpart willing to part from his prize. Blood Raine had tasted the Apple of Eden. A forbidden fruit which could not be denied him. Of this, Ciaran was unerringly certain. “Deny it all you wish. But mark my words, Octavia Kane will meet her end by blood,” the dark mage intoned, locking eyes with Raine.

He swept from the room. His thoughts turning to another item he wished to discuss. We shall see what they have to say about you, he smirked at the feline residing in the cage. It pleased him to see his runes had thus far been effective in keeping the creature under control. It was important he learn that swiftly. Returning to the area between the cells, Ciaran hefted his treasure high to where all could see him. The reaction from Kaya was immediate. “Ah, now that is for me to know and you to find out in due time,” he waved aside her inquiry. The Exceed was merely the enticement. The appetizer, so to speak. They would need to turn their attention to the monitors in their cells for the main course. Images of Kai and Selma sprang to life on the screens. “There we are.” He could hardly withstand the wait. How would these two react to seeing their guildmates in peril? His yellow orbs peered first into Kaya’s cell, watching her expression and movements. She was clearly distressed by seeing the Lightning Dragon Slayer in such a state. Yet something was amiss. Ciaran frowned. He turned his head to gaze at the television. “Ah!” A faint gasp of surprise escaped him. The video feed of Kai flickered then vanished. Nothing save a dead, black screen remained, and it too was soon replaced by the live feed being shown of Selma. I will need to speak with whomever provided us that corrupted footage of Kai, he made a mental note to handle the matter at a later date. Whoever had failed to review the video, to make certain it was intact, would pay dearly for their mistake. At least there is the live feed of the Poison Dragon. That could be counted a victory. It had the desired effect they sought from Raine and Kaya. Their denouncing cries of their treatment of Selma were like a symphony to his ears.

“Doctor Shaw is correct.” Ciaran set the cage holding Xerxes upon a portable tray table. “The guards have barely laid a finger on her since she arrived. They’ve gotten quite impatient about it really. That whole ordeal with Kai has set them on edge it seems. Of course, none of our teams dare touch Selma in her current state. She’s far too toxic for that.” He leaned against the wall. Folding his arms across his chest, he continued, “It’s a shame that she’ll have to go to waste so quickly. We were hoping to have a little more time to gather data and specimens but…it’s too risky. Wouldn’t you agree, Doctor?” They had no use for a test subject who poisoned herself. The cost of resources dedicated to keeping her alive, if there even was a way to do so, would be astronomical. “No, this will be the end for her. Just another one you couldn’t protect, eh, Raine?” The chortle which flowed from him did not last but for a few seconds. Kaya’s soft pleas cut through it as a knife through butter, promptly quelling his laughter. “You have a spell capable of counteracting poison?” Ciaran worked to keep the surprise from his voice. Their research had not indicated she possessed a healing technique. Let alone one able to remove toxins from an individual. His interest was further amplified by her explanation. Yet it was her supplication which truly intrigued. “Anything we ask of you? My, my, that is quite the bargain you offer. Tell me though, Kaya, what will you do if we agree to your request? Helping her would require your magic. If we removed your restraints, if we allowed you to use your abilities, would you take the opportunity to fight against us instead? We’re not foolish, little dragon. Do not think we would not take precautions IF we were to enter into an agreement.” It was quite the “if” as well. On the one hand, allowing Kaya her magic to save Selma would provide them another test subject from which to glean information. There was the additional benefit of the slayer halting her defiance of them. Alternatively, it could be a ruse meant to distract and pass along information from one to another. A conundrum indeed. He faced Kimura and Shaw, holding out his palms beseechingly. “Thoughts? I believe I know what your stance will be, Doctor, but I ask your input. Ultimately, however, it falls to you, Acushla. It is no fare thing the child has offered…though to what end?” Would Kaya be able to keep her word, to obey their every command and demand? Was it worth the risk to strike this accord?

Shaw chuckled under her breath. Ciaran had chosen the perfect moment to slide in that little piece of small but detrimental information and it would be oh so sweet to see the faces of their two captives. Regardless of having interactions that were few and far between, Kaya would be no stranger to the reputation of the celestial wizard; kind, caring, innocent. And yet they were in the presence of her relative, who was the picture of opposition in that regard.

The doctor nodded at the the dark wizard upon his mention of Selma’s toxicity, "The increase in the amount of poison in her has started to become far too high to draw out useful specimens," she sighed, "One of the samples ended up burning through a test subjects veins when we injected her so she’s become almost useless for anything other than to record how long it takes her to die." It was more than a little frustrating. Shaw had so hoped to manufacture dual-magic slayers with the ability to release poison gas and set it aflame. Or mix toxins with water and slip it into water supplies.
But suddenly, there it was.
There was the answer to her scientific issue.
Kaya.
She blinked a few times, "We’ve never recorded such a spell," she said in disbelief. Could this be true? Could they preserve Selma? Looking to Miss Tenma, the doctor shrugged, "Just because my team haven’t recorded it, doesn’t mean it’s non-existent. I feel since she’s offering to do anything in order to rescue her fellow dragon slayer, it’s very likely this is simply an unused emergency spell. I doubt she’d put herself at so much risk if it wasn’t true," she smiled, imagining the possibilities, "I have no issue from a scientific gain standpoint." She thought again for a moment before leaning in to Ciaran, "If this worked, we can force Kaya to revive any subject we lose to toxicity from implanting Selma’s powers too," she whispered, stepping back and smirking, "I’m all for it if we can control her." Shaw turned to Kimura, "Ultimately it’s up to you, Miss Tenma, but personally I think that if we can keep that rebellious streak in check then this will be more than a little helpful to our research.".

But in reality, it was non existent. These mages, what they didn't know, was that they had no shred of hope left. They were hidden, where they were, no one would be able to find them. No rescuer, no mage, no guild. At least, she knew she was pinned where she stood. "Such a naive child. The second your guild members enter this place, it's game over for them all. Were always prepared, one step ahead. But don't worry, if any of those bugs slip in here and find us, I'll make sure to break them all, right in front of you, Raine, and Selma." An evil smirk escaped her lips, what an enjoyable moment that would be for her and her guild members! "Oh, I'm quite aware." She spoke, as Kaya proved her water would defeat fire. "The fire I use, is some of the hottest fire out there. I will have you cowering in my heat in due time." Kimura laughed mockingly, Kaya's threats were nothing to her but empty words. But she certainly would love to prove how strong her fire is, should a moment come where Kaya escapes. In any case, it should not come to that at any point. Ciaran soon decided to show some even more beautiful footage to show the mages, they apparently had managed to capture one of the bugs, probably thought she could escape.

Kimura smirked maliciously, staring the water slayer down. "Are you scared now?!! To watch this poor child suffering, dying with no hope and all alone?" She mocked, glancing between her and Raine. This Selma girl didn't matter much to her, alive or not. It was interesting to watch though, taking note of the way she was draining her own energy. It seemed these little mages were quite desperate to save the poison slayer, their looks of scare were quite priceless. Kaya begged to save the girls life, however it became clear that in order for her to allow that process, she must be free and allowed to use her powers. That could cause a lot of problems. She was known to be quite fiery with her magic. Still, this could all go into favor. It's not like they couldn't easily reflect anything she tried to fight back with, there were more mages here to take back the situation. Of course, all eyes would have to be settled on her and always ready to strike, should she go rogue on her request. "The more knowledge of research gained, the better we improve." She said, facing between Shaw and Ciaran. "Let her save the girl, record all that you can from it. If we are to do this, all eyes should be kept on her as she does the required task. Should she attempt to fight back, we will need her to be rendered from moving as soon as possible. Ciaran's runes to keep her still should work. But just so you know, Kaya." Kimura said, now facing towards her. "If you try to play hero, your little cat friend dies, and so does this one here in our possession. It would be wise to do as we ask, and nothing more." She said with a smirk, never once trusting the girl.

                                                                      ████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████

Kaya’s continuous backchat was something to behold. It spoke volumes for what kind of wizards truly resided within Fairy Tail. Raine could hardly believe her confidence at this point. Everything felt like it was crumbling down around him yet she sat there like a beacon of hope, claiming victory already. Her defence of his humanity caused him to glance up at her. She was right. They couldn’t take it from him. He was beyond that mentality of a mindless machine. He’d proven that again and again and no stupid potato was going to change that.
"Theres a difference between understanding and not..." the blood mage paused. Did he hear that right?, "Your what?” he scoffed, "Your cousin? Nice try, a*****e. There’s no way you two could ever be related," Raine replied to the dark ecriture wizard, "Now you’re just grasping at straws to try and upset me. It’s not going to work, especially with bullshit like that coming out." Raine grit his teeth, "Almost every word that leaves your mouth is wrong in so many ways. Immoral, false and putrid. Everything I expect from a dark wizard," he snarled.
He didn’t want to hear this. He didn’t want to hear someone say exactly what he had been thinking after the encounter at Octavia’s apartment. This was why his statement had said almost everything Ciaran said was incorrect. This was one of the few things that the blood made could actually agree with the dark ecriture mage on. When or if he ever got out of here, she’d surely never trust him again. Raine looked Ciaran dead in the eyes for a moment, the corner of his mouth curled up in contempt,
"But it wasn’t her sanctuary anymore, was it? It was dangerous to her before I even walked in there. You’d bugged the whole place. All of it. Private residence? Hardly. ita clear the apartment covered in cameras. Even in her bathroom. Your silly little scientists are probably watching her like perverted hawks, jacking off to her showering. Disgusting," he growled. The idea infuriated him. And Octavia wasn’t the only one who had this done to her. All his guild members probably had the same problem. Even him. They knew where he knelt his whiskey and they knew which one he had a preference to. How else would they have known unless they’d been watching him. They’d probably even seen the incident with the celestial wizard in real time and notified the bratty guild master about it. That’s why the poison was so fresh. She’d reacted immediately. Straight after the fight which had further guaranteed his go-to coping method of drinking and smoking. Realistically, he’d played a massive part in his own undoing. His capture was down to his inability to deal with what happened. He cursed himself. So many things had gone wrong. But he wouldn’t have it that Octavia would be ‘ended’. He’d never let that happen. He was the guild ace, he had to protect her and the others. Though... with what he was being presented with on the screen, he felt more useless than ever.
The sight of Selma in such a state caused unimaginable upset within him. He didn’t want her to suffer or die alone. He was pleading, begging them to hurt him instead. Whatever they wanted to do. Torture him, give him the hallucinations again, inject him with the pain-inducers, tear him apart but just...
"Please, stop! You can’t do this!" he shouted, his voice cracking slightly.
He’d never expected Kaya to to have a hidden gem of a spell in her repertoire but as she spoke those magic words, words that said she could save the poison dragon slayer, Raine wearily turned to look at the water dragon slayer.
"Kaya, please... help her.," The discussion between the dark wizards and the scientist were taking too long. If Kaya could save Selma then they should be sprinting to do it before it was to late! "Don’t stand there and chat about it! Do something! Kaya can save her, just let her!" he roared, impatient and panicking. Not a good mix. A wave of relief spread through him when the three agreed to allow the purification process. Although he wondered how the process would affect Selma’s abilities, at the same time, what did it matter if it saved the slayers life?

“You’re wrong,” Kaya said matter-of-factly. “I don’t have the wrong notion about the world. You do. I know not everyone is good or has good in them. You bakas are perfect examples of that. But Raine isn’t like you. He’d never be like you. He’s got good in him or else his other half would be in control all the time. That makes him stronger in ways you’ll never understand. Good will always win over evil in the end. No matter what you do, you’ll never make the world into what you want it to be. Not while light mages are around to stop it.” Her ice blue orbs blazed with certainty. Kimura, Ciaran, Shaw, their cohorts, and anyone like them would see their goals to fall to ruin. The light guilds would do whatever it took to stop them. “You can lie to yourself if you want,” she scowled at the Fire Dragon Slayer. “It won’t change anything. You lost the second you started going after innocent people. Our friends are gonna find you sooner or later and make you regret it.” The muscles in her jaw worked as she raised herself a little higher in the bed. “I’m not afraid of you.” Her words were pointed, harsh. She would never bow, yield, or cower before the dark-haired girl.

A pale-yellow gaze lingered on the raven-haired teenager. She spoke with the defiance and contempt of one unwilling to admit defeat. When all should have been lost to her, the girl continued to grasp at the faintest of hopes. To believe her guildmates would be able to mount a successful rescue mission was laughable yet believe it she did. It was almost pitiable. The girl was so unlike her Sabertooth counterpart. His eyes flicked to the redhead. So lost, so concerned…he’s breaking down beautifully. Facing the man more fully, Ciaran rocked on the balls of his feet, ecstatic his little tidbit had been noticed. “Ah, but it is true. Doctor Shaw showed me the records. It seems,” he chuckled, “We’re not too terribly distantly related. She and I are fifth cousins on my mother’s side.” His face beamed with relish at the idea of being related to such a pure and innocent being as Octavia. He could not have asked for better information about the brunette. Ciaran’s rapture faded ever so slightly. The excitement waned under the scathing words of the Sabertooth Ace. “Aww, now, no need for such name-calling. Just because I’m a wizard with darker tendencies doesn’t mean I don’t know how to tell the truth. I can assure you, everything I have said to you thus far is fact. The sooner you accept that, the better off you shall be. The same is true for you, little Dragon Slayer.” He raised his voice, though he knew there to be no need, for Kaya to hear him. Yet his focus remained to Raine. Lips curving upward, he grinned wolfishly at the man, “Answer me this then, Blood Raine--” He leaned forward, lowering his voice to a course whisper. “--Which of us is the monster and which the man? Me and mine for simply eavesdropping, or you- the one who nearly strangled her to death over the smallest ounce of blood…hmmm? Perhaps her sanctuary was long since destroyed. On the very day she met YOU.” Smile never fading, Ciaran straightened up once again, sparing one final and meaningful look to Raine before turning his attention elsewhere.

Kaya could barely stand to see Selma like she was. Her body covered in black liquid; her own magic turned against her…it had to be excruciating. She knew what she needed to do, recognized it would be the only way to save her fellow Dragon Slayer. The question was- would the dark mages let her? They enjoyed pain and suffering, especially when they were the ones inflicting it. Would they be willing to save Selma, to let Kaya purify the poison and ease her agony, in order to utilize her for experiments instead? It didn’t sit well with the teenager, keeping her alive just to have her magic drained away for horrible purposes; however, she couldn’t sit around and do nothing. She couldn’t let Selma die. In the end, it was an easy decision to make, despite how terrible the alternative was. Her eyes moved between the trio of Dragons’ Bane members. “I’m not an idiot. I know what you’d do if I tried anything. I want to help Selma…If the only way you’ll let me do that is behaving then I don’t have much of a choice, do I?” And it was true. One little misstep and Kaya knew they wouldn’t let her help Selma again. They would keep her magic repressed or drain it with one of their lacrimas. On top of that, she had no doubt Kimura would keep her promise to kill Xerxes and go after Yuki. “I swear,” she swallowed hard. Her insides roiled at what she was going to say next, revolted at the promise. “I won’t try to play hero.” It would not be a simple task. Every fiber of her being wanted to defy them in whatever ways possible, but this was more important than her personal rebellion. Besides, she was certain she could find ways to annoy and confound them and their plans. It was just a matter of doing it covertly.

Ciaran considered the young girl for a moment. His gaze bored into her, studying her as if trying to decipher any deception on her part. Doctor Shaw did make a valid point. She would not be so bold as to offer a solution to their problem without having some means to achieve it. “We are in agreement then,” he inclined his head to Kimura then Shaw in turn. “I’ll see to the arrangements now, Acushla.” Without preamble, he entered into Kaya’s cell, taking but a few steps to reach her bedside. His hand grasped for the shock collar which had lain discarded on the nearest table. Slipping it around her neck, he fastened it tightly in place, emphasizing its presence with a pointed tug. “Now then,” with a couple of swishes of his other hand, the shackles around her wrists and ankles were undone. “Let’s see how well you behave. You’ve shown quite a lot of disrespect towards Master Kimura, so I think it’s only fitting you apologize by bowing at her feet…don’t you think so? And, uh, do perform it properly, if you please. Just as you would for your parents. We can go see Selma once you’ve shown how remorseful you are.”

The Water Dragon Slayer faltered to a halt. One leg dangled over the bedside while the other was suspended just above the edge of the sheets. Her expression hovered somewhere between sickened, surprised, and incredulous. Surely, he couldn’t be serious? Did he really want to waste precious time to prove a point to her? The smug glee in his features said it all. He truly did. Nauseated, with fists clenched, Kaya slid from the bed and slowly started to lower herself to the ground. She winced from her injuries. The damaged skin and muscles were taut after the lack of movement. Knees touched the cold floor first, followed closely by her hands as she placed her palms flat against the surface. There was a second of hesitation. A pause in which she caught Ciaran’s eye. Her stomach lurched, and she grimaced at his finger motioning downward. I think I’m gonna be sick. But what choice did she have? Reluctantly, with great effort, the teenager bent over at the waist and pressed her forehead to the floor, resting it in the space between her hands. “And what do we say?” The Dark Écriture mage’s voice grated on her nerves. Biting back a curse, she mumbled, “I’m sorry.” “What’s that?” Ciaran cupped his hand about his ear. “Say it clearly now so all of us can hear you. We don’t wish to keep poor Selma waiting too long, do we?” Kaya ground her teeth. She wanted to punch the man so badly but knew what doing so would mean for Selma. “I’m sorry!” She said loudly this time, feeling humiliated.

He grinned, bobbing his head approvingly. Once Kimura approved, he told the girl to stand then cooed, “Was that so difficult? Now, I think it’s time we go for our visit with the little Poison Dragon. Be warned though, Kaya, you are to do strictly what we are setting out to perform. We will provide whatever it is you need; however, if I or the good Doctor sense you are trying to do anything other than the task assigned, I won’t hesitate to employ the shock collar. In addition, I have added my own touch to it. Should you act out, I have set a rune at the back of your neck. The electricity from the collar will activate my rune, making it to where you cannot move. I can assure you…you do not want to cause that to happen.” His pale orbs gleamed intently. “Nor, I wager, do you want to see our Exceed friend here suffer. Are we at an understanding?” The young teenager stoically dipped her head. “Yeah,” she added as an afterthought, noting his arched brow. “Very good. Then let’s get moving.” Ciaran pivoted on his heel to lead the way from the cell. Drawing even with Raine, he leered at the sobbing male. “Don’t you worry, Blood Raine. I haven’t forgotten about you. We still have something fun to show the two of you. Alas, it shall have to wait until poor, dear little Selma is taken care of. While I’m gone, though, please do consider what I said earlier.” Turning away, he checked to make certain Kaya was trailing after him before addressing Kimura. “We should not be too long, Master. If you wish, Raine is quite fun to toy with if somewhat stubborn…” He said nothing more of the man, understanding his lover would do whatever she wished while he tended to their other test subject. With a low bow, he walked further along until meeting Shaw. “Care to accompany us, Doctor?” There had been no need in him asking. Ciaran had known the answer before he posed the question. It was merely a pleasantry, a demonstration of kinship for their charge. Speaking of whom, he glanced once more over his shoulder at the slayer. She had come to a stop in front of Raine’s cell as well. “It’ll be okay, Raine,” her voice was low and gentle. “I won’t let her die. Promise.” A toothy grin spread across her face when she uttered the last, a kind and comforting gesture. At that, Kaya scuttled over to where Ciaran waited, his eyes tracking her every step. Only when he was satisfied that she was sufficiently cowed did they at last depart the holding area.

Oh god it was far too rich, his pleadings for the girls very life was laughable! Light mages really were the most pathetic on the planet, and that's why there goal was to force them underground towards the pits of hell. They were like bugs being drawn to the light, only to watch as they and their family die one by one. Hearing Kaya's retortment, she nearly spat out laughing up a high storm. "Haven't you heard of what Raine did?? Is it really so hard to believe? He hurt his lover, and he attacks without remorse, how does that make him any different from us? HM? Face it, he's got a side of him he probably hasn't shown you yet, and it'll come out to play in due time. It would be perfection to watch as he killed his own guild members, don't you think?" Kimura laughed mockingly, the laughs never ceased to end upon her words filling her ears. "His other half is pathetic is all, he won't be able to stop those cravings all the time, it'll break through eventually. God do you even hear yourself?!! That's what every goody little two shoes says, face the reality, this isn't some fairy tail movie where there's always a happy ending. You need to face reality. Where are your little friends anyways huh?? They're not here, they don't even know where we are. Even if those tiny faeries and kittens make it over here, they're going to get stomped on. End of your little fantasy. I'm sure if any of them DO make it here, you wouldn't be 'afraid' of them being killed right in front of you? That certainly would be a remarkable sight to see!" Kimura laughed at the girls face, moving her gaze towards Ciaran as he humbly stated he would be settling the deal made. "Thank you, my dear."

She stated warmly, watching as Ciaran and Shaw told Kaya of all the rules and began their walk off to save the little kitten dying in the light. Kimura's attention would otherwise avert towards Raine, who seemed to be in shambles upon witnessing his guild member almost entering hells doors. "I get the impression your little guild is trying to break into here? Bringing Octavia to our hands, all it takes is capturing her and the rest, and ohh wouldn't your joyous killing side find it favorable to kill the girl? You love her don't you, I'm certain you would love to do the honors, hm? You act like you're some tough cookie, but deep down, you're pathetically weak. Why did I even bother poisoning your drink? Such a waste of an effort on a weakling." Obviously, Kimura knew the only way to capture someone like him was the poisoning, but she was trying to dig into his very skin. Anything to make him feel enraged, or cause him to panic. How wonderful it would be to see his other side take control again, if she could force him to go through so much emotions, maybe it could be a possibility. Than, from there she could play a little. She could even learn how he switches personality sides, it would be very nice learning process, even useful.

OOC: Not sure if I repeated anything, sorry if I did! Hope post is okay too. : 3

He couldn’t believe it. Cousins? Raine was finding this information hard to process but as he glared at Ciaran, he could see no inkling of dishonesty. This brought on a different kind of anger.
"You would harm your own family to satisfy a sick fantasy? That shows what a piece of s**t you really are," he sneered. The blood mage’s breath caught ever so slightly at the question of whether or not he was classed as a monster for what he almost did to Octavia. He snapped, "It wasn’t me! I wasn’t in control!” Halting before speaking again, he calmed himself, deciding that he wouldn’t give the dark wizard the satisfaction of seeing him fall apart again. He took a deep breath and looked at Ciaran with tired but focused eyes, "If we want to be honest here, I think we’re both monsters in our own special way. But out of the two of us, you’re on a whole other level."
Raine looked at the ground, a slight smile gracing his exhausted features as Kaya defended him. He did have good in him, it was true. He just struggled against a darker part within him. One day he wouldn’t have to struggle anymore, then no one would be able to use it against him again. No one would be able to do what these bastards were doing to him right now. The guilt over what he’d done was eating away at him little by little, but now there were other more immediate things to worry about. Mainly the poison dragon slayer that was dying in a cell somewhere in the building above them. He was beyond relieved that Kaya had been allowed to leave her bindings and go to Selma’s aid. He silently prayed to a god he didn’t believe in that the water dragon slayer wouldn’t be too late to save his guild mate.
The childish voice of the dark guild master ground on the blood mage’s nerves as vile words left her mouth. He looked up, glaring at the small girl. For a moment he wondered what horrible things she might have gone through for her to become so villainous. What horrors had she been subject to in her younger years to cause her to be so filled with hatred? Then again, he wasn’t sure he really cared. s**t happens, after all.
"You’ll never get to her," he snarled, "And I won’t hurt her. I refuse. I won’t ever lay a hand on her like that again. I took an oath to protect my guild and its members at any and all cost. I intend to keep that promise. I would rather end my own life than hers. I’m not your puppet. Blood Raine isn’t either. We will not dance to your tune of death," he stated.
When Kimura mentioned the poisoned whiskey, Raine laughed. His amusement rang out through his cell, echoing down the hallway.
"Oh, you poor little brat," he smirked, "You think far too much of yourself. If I remember rightly, it took quite a bit of effort for you to take me down even with the poison in my system. And let’s not forget those," he said, indicating towards the slashes on Kimura’s arms and legs from his Blood Slice spell, "They weren’t just because you wanted to decorate yourself, I’m sure. I remember that little squeak of pain you let out. It was almost adorable. Best thing that’s come out of your trashy mouth, especially considering the amount of s**t you talk." He lurched forward in the bed, straining against his chains. He ignored the dull ache of his broken arm and growled lowly, "You are nothing. You’re not a master of a strong guild. You’re the ringmaster of a ******** circus, creating your own freaks because you’re not good enough to raise your own members to reach their full potential. You’d rather cull the weak. You. Are. Nothing."

The girl was weak on her own, it would be pathetically easy, but it would prove much more challenging with the group intertwined. However, once every one of those weak guildlings got here, capturing that octavia brat would be a simple task. And than poor raine would learn the sweet hard truth, that he was wrong. "You've already harmed the girl once, who's to say you won't do it again? You haven't learned to fully control blood raine, you will end up hurting your sweet octi one way or another." The guild leader grinned menacingly, her face darkening with pure enjoyment. Kimuras expression suddenly frowned in annoyance to the blood mages laughs after she had pointed out she didn't need to fix his drink. He was pulling a string with her, a very loose one. And soon, that string will snap. "Oh please! Why would I waste my time going all out on you? I was merely play fighting and learning your abilities. If i had went all out, you wouldn't be living in this world anymore. So watch your mouth, your words do effect every action taken ." She spoke, scowling as he continued to speak. A fire was burning inside the guild leader, the more the blood mage boiled her nerves, the hotter the flames were burning. The very second Raine started making fun of her squeals from earlier on and the scars she gained, that very string snapped into pieces. Raine's cell would suddenly turn a dangerous 140 degrees, burning around the metal bars. Kimura thrusted her scythe towards him from a safe distance outside his cell. "Silence! I have heard enough from you. You've had your last warning. Octavia is as good as dead the moment her feet step into this guild. Mark my words." Raine had pushed every last button inside of Kimura, and now her goal was to end the one Raine calls his love. Only than, will they be even.

"Fool, this isn't a school. Weaklings will never become strong, they are destined to always fall beneath the shadows of those around them. I have no use for them. The more you speak, the more members of your loving guild will perish. Think before you speak, there will be consequences." Kimura was pissed, the tempurature in the heat rising. If it wasn't for Raine's abilities, she would of already stabbed him multiple times. "You have not bore witness to my real power, your words are meaningless. Id be happy to show you my true power however, using your little girlfriend as my puppet to showcase." She smirked at the very thought, a twisted grin curling into her lips.
