Could we Do a Lovecraftian setting?? The thought of "Monsters who aren't supposed to be there" Really Hit that one out of the Park, We Could Make Monsters Horrifying By Imposing Statistics on our characters based on their Jobs/class, And Let these Characters have a Special Ability ((I.E. The Doctor Can Heal 1 Stamina to Himself or Others at any given time, The Salesman Has a extra Option in Common Items in what he can find or Buy, The Private Investigator May use a "Clue" Item to Boost his overall Effectiveness in dealing with any Situations)) It can Have
1.) The Same Fear Lovecraft put into his Books.
2.) At Given Moments Have The Stupidity that comes with a Roleplaying Game.
3.) Seems like something we can do without a Pressing Need to constantly be present, I've already Gotten a List of Items, spells, enemies, Locations, Other worlds and Elder Gods/Other Monstrosities so Bhell wont kill me That we can Face off against, and once that threat is "Eliminated" that's the Best Part! It Isnt! How can Puny Humans Kill Gods....???
So In Short, we Can Play this roleplay as something Akin to a Game with a Constantly Evolving Threat, and Should we have enough People, It allows Every Character to shine in their own ways!

Im game for either! Would we make a new group or it here, fb? Where? The Assassin of Chaos BhelliomBlue-Rose Ideas aren't your weak point, Chaos. Even if you tend to need someone else to fill out details, they aren't bad ideas. Roleplaying a roleplaying game? Would. Would we be playing the player and the character? The second sounds uncomfortably close to Hunter by WhiteWolf games, but that's not really such a bad thing. There are a couple interesting things that I could do for a character in that, given a more detailed premise/setting... They always feel that way though... D: Still, nice to hear that some peeps like them. biggrin One idea I had was a virus taking over the planet. It was a unique virus in that it could switch to the other archetypes of infection - bacteria, fungi, etc. - in order to spread and survive. One possibility of infection was becoming a Dead Man Walking - effectively a zombie, but weaker and slower than any other human due to cellular damage caused in order to take over the body and the virus basically stripmining the body for energy and biomass whilst still keeping it mobile and able to spread aggresively. The other is becoming an Infected Symbiote - the virus is capable of providing certain benefits to the user by mutating the biology of it so long as it doesn't kill off the infected, and in return the being only siphons off the infected's energy. Humanity ended up retreating into areas like Greenland, Norway and Russia in order to survive since the virus couldn't propagate or infect as easily in these countries thanks to the colder climate there, although the US and UK are trying to regain a foothold by using black ops teams made of the Symbiotes whilst islands like Australia and Japan have already cut off contact with most of the world - in spite of the obvious resource issue (food, water, buildings, technology, etc). Symbiotes, on the other hand, are capable of living amongst the Dead Men since they're already infected (so the Dead Men don't want to infect them). They're able to effectively eradicate areas infected since the virus thinks it's one of them but can't tell if it's killing off itself and society is still effectively the same for them - supermarkets, clubs, community hubs and so on still exist for them. Military forces even pay them to run some of the ammo production facilities and shipping for them. Think the Last of Us and kinda PROTOTYPE but the entire world is suffering instead of one city or country.

If we do Lovecraft, there's probably something online for it. CthuluMUD looks like a choice, but it might have other players... Otherwise I was thinking we repurpose this guild. Repurposing seems to be the way to go, from my perspective. Then again, I'm kind of a curmudgeon. I'm fond of the lovecraftian setting, myself, but I'd still want to workshop up the deities/monsters instead of just filing the serial numbers off of his. Virus thing could well work, even and especially in conjunction with the existential horror themes.

Seems We're Set, I was thinking of Just Going the Full 1920's Era That was always in the Books, We could Cover Arkham First, and then, as the Game goes on Eventually Add The Other Hell Holes such as Dunwich, Or Innsmouth, ((People dont, GO to Innsmouth, People DIE in Innsmouth.)) We Can Rebuild the Forums to Reflect the Sections of the Towns and Have Sub forums So as To Have Locations in these Sections ((The French Hill has Two Sections, The Witch House, And The Silver Twilight Lodge)) and Kinda build from there, Every Day a New Event Happens that Opens a Portal in Any Unstable Area in the Map, From Hibb's Roadhouse, To The Witch House, To The Science Lab, all those kinds of areas. After We all Create our Characters from Certain Jobs, We'll be Given Fixed Items, And then Random Items, THEN we Pick the Elder God we Face. Then an Odd event Happens, Revealing a Clue and a Portal which is Kept track on a News Section, Which can also recap the Role Plays Events, It needs some Polishing, but We can pull this off!!

The daily event might need to be monthly or bimonthly since we might not be able to post quickly enough to warrant consecutive events.

Fair Enough. But these Events Cause Two things to Happen, It allows a Gate to Open, and it Creates a Clue Item for Investigators to Hunt down.

Well, you definitely put a ton of thought into it. xD If you can set it up, go for it. I'll be glad to help if you need it and I'm sure Blue will too. I'd ask, just in case.
