Lilac silently groaned.
[They ought to mind their own business. I thought it's already been made clear that the situation is under control!]
After gently setting the fox down, she glided back over the roused fairies.
It appeared that a small group of guards, much higher in position than Lilac, hadn't been too trusting on everything being handled and wanted to check it out themselves. There were three of them, two men and one woman, and they were all about ready to take flight to the noise.
"Woah, hey! Nothing to worry about!" Lilac ran up to them, returning to a human height. "A fox just got a little excited, that's all."
"Excited at what?" The woman spoke up, long white hair covered most of her naked body and stopped a little below her crotch line.
Lilac hesitantly shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not sure, but-"
"Than it's best we check it out. That plastic toy might have stuck around." 'Plastic toy' was a derogatory word for hybrids among fairies.
Lilac tried her best to be assertive. "Well, um, surely it must not matter? What's it going to do?"
"You saw how it blatantly stole food and intimidated others. It'll surely come back if it knows another free meal is waiting for it. Now let's go." The trio began to depart towards the sound.
And without a single coherent thought, Lilac took off back towards the cat lady and fox. She was much faster than the other guards, and so she reached the destination several seconds before them. Again, without thinking, she swooped her two arms under the cat's arms, still going full speed, and attempted to lift her off the ground. However she wasn't nearly strong enough to lift up another humanoid, so instead the cat was forced to do more of a slightly levitating/running really fast/dragging along as the flight continued.
"HEY, WHAT'S GOING ON-" The guards abruptly stopped as soon as they saw just what was happening. They should have continued the chase, but they were just too stunned. What on earth was fairy doing carrying along a hybrid?
Lilac didn't know either.
"Let's go back." The woman began, still staring at the two as they slowly disappeared out into the meadow a ways off. "We may have had a chance if we weren't interrupted, but speed was always that fairy's strong point. With a delay there's no point."
She sighed, finally turning back around. "Of course now this leaves us with a lot of strange questions."

Beau had no idea what was going on, these people where confusing her and she has no idea what they where talking about, and where they where going. She didn't understand why this fairy was attempting to carry her, but she thought she could help by crouching and sprinting. hoping that the fox could catch up. Quote: Fox creature! Can you sprint? Can you catch up? You can wrap yourself around my waist! The fox wrapped herself around Beau's waist. And the fairy seemed to be struggling trying to propel them away from the group. Quote: Hello! Fox creature, i haven't introduced myself! I'm Beau Arrow, from the village of Quiverton! What is your name? Beau took a piece of paper and graphite from her pouch and started to write pretty much the same thing. Quote: Hello! Fairy creature! My name is Beau Arrow! She hoped that the fairy could read her writing, the villagers of Quiverton had to learn to write the common language for traders. She handed the paper to the fairy in hopes that she could read it.

Just as the beautiful fairy went ahead and swooped to pick up the cat-humanoid, Marieth sprinted as fast as her little legs would let her and did a big leap into the air to grab a hold of the cat-humanoid's waist. Marieth, not having opposable thumbs began slipping down the cat-humanoid's waist. Without hesitating, Marieth bit onto the bag of the cat-humanoid, hoping that she wouldn't mind if she used that bag to help position herself up. As Marieth, propelled herself up, she leaped and climbed over on top of the cat-humanoid. Marieth , looking up could see that the fairy was really struggling to get flight off the ground. Marieth , having good hearing since she is an animal, could hear the sounds of the fairy villagers and guardsmen fading off, but once again, who knows when they'll return. Quote: "We just need to get into a safe distance away from the crowd." She thought to herself. Quote: "This is not going to work. The weight between all of us is just going to drag us down. We won't be able to get flight." Marieth began thinking about how on earth would we be able to gain flight. Just as she was in mid-thought, she heard a voice down below her. It was the cat-humanoid speaking to her. Marieth replied, Quote: "Beau Arrow? That is a wonderful name, and Quiverton? I haven't heard about that village before, but that sounds like an interesting place. Are all of you cat-humanoids?" Marieth couldn't help but to think about how human like Beau was, but she could also understand animals. What a phenomenon that was, and it really impressed Marieth. Quote: "My name is Marieth Mable." Marieth replied bowing her head and wiggling her ears to signify attention. She began to look up and used her nuzzle to point towards the fairy. Quote: "This is my friend! I am not too sure of what her name is, but I know she is friendly. We can trust her." Marieth could see that the fairy was getting tired, but she was awed about how speedy she was. She was dodging the trees here and there, and even helped pick up Beau just enough to get her to jump off of larger sized boulders and rocks. Beau was sprinting to help the fairy out, but Marieth knew that still wouldn't be enough to gain flight. Marieth could see that the both of them were starting to slow down. Hopefully it was far enough away from the crowd and guardsman, that they could relax and be dropped down. The trees began hovering over the three of them making noises from all the leaves, bushes, and branches moving. The forest was beginning to get dark, but not in a sense of evil, but in a sense of protection. It was if the forest understood them, and wanted to help out. Beautiful shades of different colored leaves began forming, the branches began to develop a more housing-cave like structure. After all, this was a mythical magic forest, wasn't it? There were small little creatures and lightning bugs lighting the way since it was awfully dark. Their light shimmering in the darkness made such a beautiful scenery. There were little movements in the grass and various little sounds of pitter patters, wings, and other magical noises. It all stirred in the air. Marieth knew that they were now in the deeper part of the forest.

Gradually Lilac slowed down, and in about a minute she had ceased flying and flopped down onto the ground. She sat up, exhausted, and looked at the note from the cat lady. It was in common language, and since Lilac was in the guard it was a required study. With a few years under her belt she could read and write it well enough, but speaking was a bit of a challenge. Lilac thought while she looked up at Beau, wondering if she could actually speak anything past animal noises, when she suddenly snapped to life and the memories of what she had just done occurred to her. She sprang up with her two hands covering her mouth and eyes widening. Quote: Oh, goodness! I do apologize for- The fairy abruptly stopped upon realizing that Beau probably didn't know her fair language. The fox might, but that's only if she lived along side the fairies, and Lilac didn't recognize her. Looks like she was going to have to try her hand at Common. Quote: Aaah, h-hello! My... nam... is Lilac! I am... big soreh! The words came out slurred and choppy. She could only hope that the others would understand her with the aid of the exaggerated gestures she was making.

Beau sat dumbfounded, looking at the fairy. Her rapid arm movements and increasing pitch of voice where making screeching noises in her and Marieth's ears. Beau shook her hands in a "no" movement, and grabbed the paper from the fairy and scribbled : Quote: i do not understand common spoken words, you have to write it.. and handed it back. Beau hoping that it wouldn't offend the fairy to have her write everything on paper. Quote: do you understand common language Marieth? She whispered to the fox, who was laid out on the grass looking quite comfortable. She supposed she could do the same.

Marieth was laying on the grass in a comfortable position, hearing the fairy speak was a little mind-boggling because it was a little off. She knew how to understand common language, but the fairy sounded so different that she couldn't comprehend it well, but she could understand bits of words. Marieth's ears began to ache, then suddenly Beau told the fairy to stop and handed the fairy a piece of paper. Marieth huffed out a breath of relief, but she also knew that the fairy meant well, so there was no need to be worried or bothered. Marieth was in mid-stretch, but then heard her name being called out by Beau. Quote: "Why yes, I do understand common language, Beau." Marieth bowed her head. Quote: "My master would speak common language, from ages ago." Marieth, began to look a little sad. The memories of her being with her master was hurting her again and making her feel a tad uncomfortable. She would remember the nights of the both of them being huddled up in a log cabin in the long winter nights, she would remember the adventures they held together as a duo. Marieth loved her master so much, but she still has no idea where his where-abouts were. Marieth then stood up on four paws and pulled her scarf around with her teeth. Her teeth then grabbed a hold of a cartridge of cigarettes and a box of matches. Marieth grabbed one cigarette and with her teeth and her paws she managed to light a match then brought it up to her cig to light it. She huffed into a good big drag and then let out a swirl of smoke into the air. Marieth looked over towards Beau who was laying in the soft grass with her. Marieth being as kind as possible, since she is a kind-hearted fox to begin with offered Beau and the fairy a smoke too. Marieth took her nuzzle and shifted the cartridge and box of matches to both of their directions. Quote: "Want one? Do you smoke?" Marieth asked Beau. Quote: "How about you? Kind fairy?" Marieth wiggled her ears to signify attention and then bowed towards the beautiful fairy, of which she still doesn't know the name of.

Lilac sheepishly rubbed the back of her neck before writing out a reply to Beau. She took the paper and lightly drew her right pointer finger over it, using magic to lightly burn the paper to form letters. It was a slow yet determined process as she carefully thought everything through before actually putting it down. However despite her use of the language was quite awkward, she was pretty fluent in listening and reading. Quote: Sorry! My name is Lilac Bellhaven. I am sorry for take you so quick. And I am sorry for the fairies before. Fairies do not like human created creatures. But I do not mind. biggrin Lilac handed the note back. She didn't really know what she thought about Beau. This was the first time she's actually seen a hybrid, before all she heard were stories. She recalled laughing at cruel jokes and listening intently into stories about the beastly actions of those plastic toys, as it was just engraved in her community's culture. But any personal prejudices she had were obviously weakly held, because she felt no hatred when looking at this hybrid. Her only feelings were curiosity and a tiny bit of fear for the unknown. The fairy then looked over at the fox, who was signing and bowing to her. She smiled and curtsied back, but could not respond to anything the fox was trying to say. While she had spent several years learning how to speak, read, and write common language, she knew nothing about sign language past a few basic phrases. However, holding an object up to someone is pretty clear in its meaning, and Lilac hesitantly took a cigarette. Lilac spoke, as clearly as possible. She had only smoked cigarettes a few times before. There were herbs that grew not too far off that she much preferred, but she figured that this was a good way to present herself as a friendly person.

Beau was fascinated by the magic that was coming out of Lilac's fingers. She had never seen magic in action before. The only magic she was exposed to was the ones in books, that where given to her by the wealthy. She never thought she would see it in real life. Quote: Oh, nice to meet you. I'm guessing that you've met Marieth? She scribbled, her claw accidentally poked through the paper. She pushed it back to Lilac. The smell of the cigarettes burned Beau's nose. She wanted to walk around a bit because the smell reminded her of the ships that came to her village every week. It was a reoccurring nightmare. Quote: I'm going to walk around and get some berries for a snack. I'll bring some back for you two. And she repeated the same back to Marieth. She trotted into the forest to look for berries.

Marieth, smoking her cigarette to calm herself down was listening to the sounds of the magical forest. She began making smoke rings and couldn't help but to giggle at them forming and then disappearing into the air. After her fairy friend grabbed a cigarette, Marieth took the cartridge and the box of matches with her tail and flicked it inside her scarf for safe keeping. Marieth, looking over to Beau who was walking towards the direction to some forest berries reminded her that she was starving. Her belly began to rumble and shortly after Beau left, she decided to follow directly after. Quote: "Hey Beau, may I accompany you? I'm awfully hungry myself." Marieth asked Beau. Marieth's stomach sure was growling. Marieth thought to herself. She began to sniff Beau's bag.
