Gaia Online brings people together mostly out of its main formation: The ability to communicate with others while online. One can argue about its other features yes, but what made Gaia in the first place is what still brings people of all variety together. Despite recent events, some people who are still clinging on to the hope of Gaia remain to come here for the community alone; A feeling of hope that is almost lost, and a feeling they do not want to dispose of.

The Forums offers many spots to crave your chatty charms, from the insides of Gaia Online to the real world. Forums to talk about what you love near and dear to your heart, forums to pretend and make believe in, and forums that can bring out the odd side of any of us, and anything one can find in there remains true to a meaning of meeting new friends and making a community together.

There may not seem like theres a whole lotta options, its really the threads within that make the Forums count for their worth, what everyone creates for others to talk about and continue sharing in the harmony. My curiosity piqued when I thought about it, and it came to this.

So what I'd like to know is this:

What keeps bringing you back to Gaia Online?

This is mostly to answer for the sake of Forums, but any other piece of Gaia like the Games, World, Shops, or you Avatar and Profile can also be a part of discussion just as well.

~What sorts of Forums do you choose to fancy yourself under?
~What in particular sets you up to make a thread or answer someone else's post with a quote?
~Is there ever anything in the Forums that you love so much, you'd wish you could never leave?
~Is there any Forums in Gaia you loathe and wished never existed?
~Is there a genuinely brand-spanking-new-idea you would want to see in Gaia?
~What general forum-bound individual do you consider yourself as? (See poll for idears)

This is a 100%, no-messy-surprises open discussion about Gaia, and your thoughts on anything about it. Happy things, sad things, things that frinked you off, things about what Gaia has to offer or once had. Recent things. Old things. Things that may not exist and you may want to see in future days. Any kind of thing about Gaia! Just dont forget about saying something about the Forums. We would likely have nothing if not for it.

I guess I'm sketchy sense I do art for people, I always try to go the distances with it. xd

What keeps me coming back to Gaia are items, features, updates and events. 3nodding
Towns 2, recolors, re-releases, fun events and contests to win rare items and
those golden tickets were pretty nice of them. I also like the latest contest for
Rina's pies, your creation could win and be made into an item and be sold in her shop.
It's the little things that I enjoy the most sometimes. heart

I'm trying to push myself to go read in the forums, I mean I gotta get my news from somewhere. surprised
I've been quoting and posting in the forums lately, mostly agree with people and putting my little two cents in.
I like the Heaven forum sometimes but it's a bit vacant lately, that and the housing one. I love to dress up my
house all nice and pretty too, I wish It could be made a bit better on the inside and also to find a way for people use them more often.

It always was the little things that helped count Gaia to be so great wasnt it? So long as it never allowed anyone to question cash/gold motives, anything they come up with is good. Im not really all that good at coming up with ideas myself, so I can output my own two cents on how I see the stuff.

Well I suppose I should take the time to out myself under the spotlight as well.

I like to dabble in a little bit of everything, mostly depending on my mood. That said, Ive taken a peek in most of the top topics that exist and categorize on the forums, and I havent really found a "favorite" out of any of it.

That also said, being able to answer someone is always a variety game for me. "What are they talking about? How did they type out their thoughts? What is the topic mainly about? Do I know anything about it? Would I really take the time to answer this if I did? What am I gonna say?" I try to say something, and I usually want to say something that is noticeable or inspirng enough for someone to read, and enough where it makes me comfortable, knowing that my thoughts are out there for someone to read, and possibly to be respected if read. Its not always the case, but its worth a try.

That said just as well, I dont have any kind of threads I love or hate, because my mind is not always on the mindset to consider what is best or worst for Gaia. I dunno, I guess Im confident enough they know what theyre doing. No interests, no ideas, just all the room to gabble to my hearts content. mrgreen

A lurker through and through. I usually like to kick back and listen to what others have to say; people's opinions are so much more interesting than my own.
If I think about that question there isn't anything specific about Gaia that I'm on this site for. The whole community is a really diverse place, and I like discussing... uh, lurking among different topics, participating in guilds... well, attempting to, generally contributing in little ways. Isn't that what a community is about? (: I also roleplay here and there kinda flaky when it comes to that.

Why do I gaia? It's a good question to ask.

Recently I've just been lurking through the site feedback, listening to people's opinions and developing my own based off of that. But that part of the community is sort of like a disease; spend too much time around it and it'll pass on to you. It makes everything seem so negative...
But just like someone else in this thread, other people's opinions are very interesting- more so than my own, anyways- and I like to take in a variety.
When I joined, my friends told me that every otaku had a gaia, and I should go online so that I could chat with them over the summer! I only really had them, and we chatted over meebo, spammed the living $#!* out of each other, and played lots of resort world and raw my thing. I kinda got into roleplaying during that time, too.
But then those simple pleasures slowly got stripped away. First was meebo, if memory serves, then draw my thing... then resort world... everything just slowly got taken away form me, and then when one friend moved away and I changed schools, I didn't even have them anymore. I was kinda just coming on gaia for nostalgia's sake, hoping to find something new.
I really liked the manga and zOMG. The manga is now finishing, but zOMG will probably never get touched again, despite my wishes.

So now there's nothing, really. I'm sticking around for the manga. I kind of want an art shop because I love to draw, but I'm still young and inexperienced and unskilled. Not to mention I'm pretty flaky in that respect too. I did start my ow roleplay, so now I have something other than lurking to do on gaia. I love the site, it's a nostalgic place, so I don't want to see it go. I'll stick around until the very end :')

True, the amounts of games and Meebo that came to us was a glorious. (I for one, loved OMGPOP), and the fact they were taken away when they were brought up is disheartening. Of course, thats not Gaias fault. Theyve kept trying to bring to the table for us to enjoy, but string after string of bad luck mustve gotten to them, now theyre making their own games. Havent really touched them myself.

Ad for the feedback, pfff, I dare not even click the gates to enter! People have been so negative about the wayward path up to now, and it was rather apparent what that reasoning was about, and how it went down whenever it was brought up. Kinda like the Bronies actually. I made a topic of my own in their section, expressing my opinion that they are the new "Trekkies" of the century. (That popularity. Theres no mistaking that!)

Needless to say, I got complete opposite reactions. It was like I was walking some tightrope, trying not to say the wrong thing to give the other the advantage of winning a fight I never even began. People get so intense, jeebus.

I say Gaia is still Gaia, not a whole lot has changed; the ability to continue making Gaia a great place has been questioned a few times, but so long as we can still talk to people and do the things weve always been able to do, hell, theres nothing else really needed now is there? mrgreen

Hi. I'm not part of this guild (yet) but this seemed like something I'd want to reply to (and I reply to things I want to show my standing on). I come back to Gaia for my quests, the storyline, the games and the npcs.

I'm not much of a forum-person (I lurk unless I'm selling drawings) but I love events that happen in forums and guilds. Like now, with the summer event here and the npcs actually interacting with us, with the outfit theme and the art contests, this is my favourite kind of event. It's so fun cx

I wish they would bring back ATA though. SF just doesn't have the same guarantee that someone will check/answer the feedback.

Yaknow its funny, I never took the time to really take a look at the Beach Party all summer so far. And now its almost August! I cant help but take a peek at whats going on now, if I wanted to badly enough.

I kinda miss the monthly updates videos with whatshisfaceagain, giving us the feedback on all the things that has happened. Because that suddenly vanished into nothing and never came back. So I dunno.

The party just started some days ago! (yeah it's late)

Woah I've never heard of those videos. Are they on youtube? I kind of want to see them.

Uuuhhhhhh, I think they might be. The video player was very Youtube-esque, so looking up GaiaOnline might do that. Might. I havent done it myself.
