Dawn ignored her two spirits as she watched the desk flew by her ear. There had to be a distance limit to this technique. Otherwise the first time he had used the technique the world would have ended. Dawn pulled against the force as she fought to back up. She paid for every inch.
Dawn spoke between clenched teeth, “Is this vengeance for not drinking your tea? Because if this is you have poor taste.”
She couldn’t use Shunpo. She could feel her spiritual pressure bending towards the tear in space. Dawn called what little of it she could back to sit behind her heart. With a shout she pushed it out and towards the ground.
It pushed Dawn about 15 feet away from the black hole. Dawn let out a deep breath. She could still feel the effects but she wasn’t fighting to pull away.
“He’s behind you!”
Dawn didn’t even question it; she just turned and swung both of her blades at the same time. Saying yes to the Captain’s request had been a bad idea. However Dawn was not backing out now.
“Damnit! Damnit! Damnit! I can’t win! He’s too quick! The best I can hope for is not to die!
Then a thought came from the depths of Dawn’s memories, “This is not the end. But you knew that already. Didn’t you?”
Dawn’s eye narrowed. She might not be able to win. But she sure as hell wouldn’t die. And she refused to give up!
Dawn swung Fuyunohi at the ground, “Hi Tōketsu.”
Her footing was compromised. Maybe her blue fire could level the odds. The blue fire coated the floor in a thin layer of ice. Natsunoyo was still lock against her enemy’s blade.
Dawn deliberately dropped. She was smaller than then the man. Maybe she could dart around. Dawn used the ice to slide between his legs. Dawn pushed up and swung Fuyunohi at his back.
“Hi Tōketsu!”
