Florio stared silently at the looming mass before them, at the last place he had been able to strain to see the young Kain disappear into the darkness of the Kregs. His time was almost up, and the elder knight was itching for some action. "Hey, are you ready?" Florio turned to Vance who had that usual cheesy grin on his face when he was either right about something or simply to annoy him. "I can see that familiar glint in your eye."

"He has had the time we agreed on and as you can see he has not yet returned. Time to go in after the whelp and save the day, so to speak."

"I give you credit for not rushing in as soon as he headed off."

"Well, I can't deny the break was nice." Florio gave a small smile as they grabbed their things and headed in the wake of Kain's path. The veteran knights made the trek in a little less time than it had taken Kain, arriving at the mouth of the cave it what seemed like minutes to the men who's adrenaline was on fire. Their very senses were heightened, on edge even as they entered into the damp coolness of the cave. Florio was tracking where Kain had been, slowly retracing the young knight's tracks all the way down to the edge of the lake. "He was here...and he was not alone."

"Do you think the beast tossed him in?" Vance asked motioning to a faint glint at the bottom; Kain's sword.

"He went in, that I can tell." Florio replied, pointing to the disturbance where Kain tripped. "Then something pulled him back out...with this." He took hold of the rope that Brygida had used and took it from the rock; he could see the faint traces of her aura on the rope. The beast was here and it had Kain somewhere in the caverns. Wrapping the rope up he attached it to his own belt and turned to Vance. "We have to find him. There is no telling what that creature may do to him...be doing to him already..."
