Welcome to the Introduction Thread!
This thread has a very simple purpose, one you might have guessed already from the title, or you might not have. Put simply, it is a place for us to introduce ourselves, meet our fellow RPers and Abyssals (Dunno if that will catch on, but it fits, I suppose), and get acclimated to the site in general. To facilitate this, I'm going to lay down a few ground rules using my authority as OP.
1)Do not do interest checks here. This isn't the place to advertise your RP. There might be a place for it in the future, but this is a place to advertise Role-players, not Role-plays.
2)Please, please introduce yourself. This rule isn't really going to be enforced too much, but it's much preferred that if you're going to post in here, you give a bit of information about yourself, even if it's just your name and what you generally like to RP.
3)Be Polite. I know this is pretty much a rule everywhere, but I feel that it needs reiterating. Please, please refrain from being rude or insulting anyone for what they post here, no matter how much you personally dislike it. Remember, they're people too, not just words on a screen.
Three rules. Simple, right? Follow them, and you'll probably have a nice time introducing yourself and the like here. Hopefully this thread will help us form a bit of knowledge about each other and generally become more friendly throughout.

Greetings Mr. Bronypi. I wish I were here last night to catch your greeting sooner but alas, I have a life. I wouldn't mind telling you that I dislike MLP... but I dislike undeserved haters even more so, more power to you! ^^
Yet again I digress, the main reason I typed this response was to tell you that I don't have photoshop, but I am ok with simple photo edits and resizings. I can also code post styles relatively well, so if you need any help, feel free to ask me. I would be happy to hone my skills while helping someone. ^^

If you've got a problem with that, then I respectfully request you leave that problem at the door before talking to me. I won't get on you about your preferences, you don't get on me about mine. I must say it's nice to be here, and I look forward to RPing with any and all of you... okay well maybe not all of you, I'm sure there'll be at least one or two that I can't stand, but let's hope that this is the exception that proves the rule, right? If any of you all want to do something with me, feel free to PM me. I don't mind, and it'll make sure that I notice. Or you could quote me or something, but I honestly don't check my updates nearly as much as my PMs, so it might take a bit longer than just sending me a message. I'll play nearly anything or anyone, and will do my best to provide quality role-play if at all possible, but I can't promise that I'll post some huge amount of text every time. I'll certainly try to have sufficient detail, but I'm not going to pad out my post just to fit within some window, or cut it short, either. I don't personally know anyone that I can ask to photoshop/edit something for me, so I probably won't be able to provide too many graphics with my post, and I'm not some huge awesome layout coder, so I'm not gonna be able to do more than a general outline that provides a quick cheat-sheet for whatever character I'm playing at the time. I doubt severely that I'll get an answer to this, but if you ARE such an awesome person that you wouldn't mind helping me out with photoshopping/editing/layouts, then you can PM me any time and I will owe you all kinds of favors. And a cookie. So yeah. I think I've written enough. Well, just getting in the spirit of things...
To start
My name is Ivy, or at least that's what everyone calls me at school. If you're wondering why, check my profile.
Personality and skills
I'm a bit of a nerd and at times and I may be a bit of an old-style grammar Nazi who enjoys using purple prose.(i.e: I used to claim a profession likened to adventuring much like yourself until I received a hostile pointy projectile to my platella.) I'm inherently evil but I tend to express my evils in a mannerful way. I prefer my victims to die knowing that I hold no malice toward them beside my reason for murdering them. I like many animes from Death Note to Soul Eater and generally love making OCs for such situations. I'm also a gamer who can pull Pokemon, Digimon, Halo, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and Resident Evil roleplays. However yet again I will say, I prefer using OCs. I'm an amateur artist and photo editor who can aslso make tekteks and pretty posts.(To a certain extent) I often look for ways to practice my craft and thus I am happy to assist anyone in these areas.
RP preferences
I love roleplays where I don't have to be human because quite frankly, I don't like humans. I will reiterate for a third time that I prefer to use OCs mainly because I don't like putting words in my favorite characters' mouths. My mind is bursting with ideas and I can often think up one or several different RPs with both restrictive and none restrictive story lines. I prefer not to be held to a post limit because I feel that a good post CAN be only one 5-6 sentence paragraph. I also feel that you can write 7 paragraphs and still write a crappy post. In terms of romance, I normally save the romance-based RPs for 1x1s, but I feel that a little love has it's place in any RP if executed realistically it can be wonderful for character development. I specialize in playing characters that are relatively young (7-21 years old.) and I'm especially good at playing vampires(not the Twilight variety mind you) and demons.
Weaknesses
As for my faults, true to my earlier statement about post lengths, many of my posts could be quite short, despite being capable of text walls. (much like this intro ^^) I tend to use a lot of smileys and gestures out of character but on a rare occasion you may see one. Though I may be a stickler for large words and spelling I often ignore misspellings of thier.(i before e my a**) I'm also not very good at playing old characters. I can play mature and wise characters and yet old doesn't seem to connect. XP Additionally I will reiterate that I am EVIL. Therefore loyalty, even when using heroic characters is not my strong suit. (You've been warned.) Additionally my weakness is music. While I would normally add this to my skills and preferences I will say I may ignore you if a good song comes on in the middle of a post. :3 Also as of late... I've been prone to sickness. sad Hopefully I won't be kept away for too long.
Well I think that's enough talking.

Honestly, I don't think you're evil. Ruthless and self-focused, but honestly you can find people like that on both sides of the morality line. Plus, I don't really believe in people being good or evil, just actions. On the other hand, if you actually preferred to answer questions through murder rather than doing what is most efficient to get the job done, that would make you evil. And stupid.

Ah you see, I noted that I'm inherently evil, meaning I can be a very nice person, but I just have evil motives behind my benevolence most of the time. And no, I do not instantly turn to murder. when I mentioned murder, the situation was purely hypothetical. I employ many methods to get what I want, and while murder IS a possibility, it's not exactly my first choice due to the risks and possible repercussions. Though I will say I've had characters who kill freely for no good reason, in addition to the ones who just kill opposition.

I personally try to draw a distinction between 'evil' and 'ruthless'. They are two very different things. If you wanted to, say, torture and kill innocent people for no reason other than your own enjoyment, that would be evil. To simply be willing to do anything in order to achieve your goals, that's being ruthless. Then again, your earlier statement makes it sound like you don't especially care if people are hurt or not, which leads me to believe that it's ruthlessness rather than evil. I have a weird morality scale, maybe.
