C-c-c-c-cold! Luca picked up his head, for he was laying down it what seemed to be a soft white powder, which was deceiving, since it was colder than even that round woman who owned the fruit stand, and dam was she a cold old bat! Luca rose himself to his feet, brushing off all of the snow that had found itself onto his clothes. Luca looked up and around him, and could see that he was in a dense forest, much more dense than those that surrounded his small home back in America. Though the amount of snow fall seemed to be the same, which was heavy. Luca held out his hand towards the sky, letting the dancing flakes fall gingerly into his hand. The icy flakes gathered in his hand, creating a cool sensation in his hand. The developers sure got things right. Turning his hand, the snow fell down to his feet, and Luca pressed forward to get a better look around.
Luca suddenly stopped, face palming himself so hard it should have went through his skull. Where was Koyuki, and the girl that joined them at the last minute? He turned to see where he had appeared, finding the imprint of his body in the snow, but had yet to see those of his Party Members. "Uh oh... I hope I didn't lose them!" Luca said, now starting to panic. He walked back to the site of where he appeared, and began to wait patiently for his Party, hoping that the two would arrive soon. In the mean time, what could he do to pass the time? Luca looked around, observing his surrounding closely. For an event that surely supposed to sound somewhat festive, the forest was really dark and eerie. Luca couldn't help but to think that he was being watched. Hell someone else had to have been here by now right? Not just one of his party members, but other players of the game. Someone had to be here... or was Luca the first? Now Luca felt really nervous. He didn't want to get blind sided by an enemy he wasn't going to be able to take care of by himself. Luca placed his right hand on the grip of his curved sword, gently taping his fingers on it as he waited.
The cold was starting to get to the young man, he pulled his leather cloak around him, trying to wrap his body as best he can to prevent further body heat loss. Though it was just a game, I'm sure the developers wouldn't allow for a thing such as hypothermia to actually be possible. Luca bounced on his toes, trying to keep movement up in his body, trying to stay warm. Then he stopped, not because he felt warm, but because something made it's presence known. Without wasting a moment, Luca's grip tightened around his sword withdrawing it in a loud manner, letting the metal ring as it left it's sheath. The sword spun around in his hand, going from being held inverted, to being held as a normal sword. Luca spun and crouched low, holding his left hand out, palm first. His sword was raised up above his head, pointed in the direction that Luca was facing. Darkness. That's all Luca could see, just pure darkness. But the young warrior knew better, and held his position. A pair of yellow eyes made themselves present within the darkness. Luca tightened his grip. Suddenly, another pair of eyes made themselves present, and then another, and another. "Oh hell... where are you two?" Luca said in a hushed manner. Things were about to get bad, and Luca didn't want to die, not on his first day in this new world. Even though it was just a game, and death almost always happens. But Luca just didn't want to let it happen. How embarrassing would that be?

As the wind blew, and leaves danced around in the air you could see a figure in the distance. Dawn. He had finally appeared to his destination. He was determined to do this event. His hair burning like fire blinded his eyes. You couldn’t see them but trust me they were always giving you a cold stare. Dawn thought of a major decision on his way here. Instead of going alone and trying to solo the event he was going to party up. Only for this time only after he might become a solo player. As he arrived in to the area he sat against a tree. He was going to wait until a group of people passed by him and asked for a party, or at-least help with the event. And so he sat down and begun his wait.
The forest was devoid of people, but not of life. A rustle here of there in the trees betrayed the comings and goings of winter and birds. And so the snow fell alone, from the grey, barely visible clouds down to the earth, that although wasn't real, felt the same under Hotaru's feet, even wrapped in leather boots. She had just come through the portal and already her bones were chilled to the core with the dry bitter cold; her entire being felt like ice. It was almost as if she had been cryogenically frozen for years and was now just coming out of it. Although life-threatening in the real world, Aincrad certainly wasn't the real world and however cold the area was, it would never amount to anything more than that-- cold. No frostbite, no pain, no death from the cold. The snow fall was heavy and coated Hotaru's hooded head and encloaked body in a thin layer of white powder in a matter of seconds.
After silently gathering her surroundings from behind a damp, snow-covered log, Hotaru decided that she had lost both members of her newly formed party, and sprung up, clutching the hilt of her rapier tightly, ready to pull it out whenever she heard a sound. This definitely wasn't the visit to a warm, wintery Christmas town that she was expecting from this event, and instead the girl now stood in a bleak, boreal forest trapped under feet of snow. She couldn't have possibly gotten lost, could she? Her mind wandered off to a scenario of Luca and Koyuki sitting in a warm inn drinking hot chocolate and eating cakes, not aware that some distance away Hotaru was freezing in her virtual skin. Her body didn't really give off much warmth(even in reality) and snow clung to her hair and eyelashes, and if she was about three feet shorter she probably would've looked like a snow pixie. But her thoughts weren't on that anymore, they were staring intensely out at the land, her visibility limited to only several feet in front of her due to the snow. There was something out there that could probably see the girl much better than she could see it. She crouched down low, finally activating her chosen skills, hiding and observation, to look out into the depths of the snow. Since her level was still 1, in almost everything, both the skills didn't really work as she thought they would. She was obviously still in sight, and she couldn't see anything besides the white forest. If there was indeed something out there like she felt
Hotaru relaxed her crouch, retracted muscles letting her sink down a couple of inches further. She could've sworn she saw a diamond out in the distance. Her fingers curled around her rapier's handle in alarm, and although nothing moved so far, she never let go, her knuckles going white. The same color as the head under the green diamond that came into focus suddenly. It could've only been Luca. She stood up, and carefully crunched through the inches of snow. Her speed quickened and her grip loosened the closer she treaded, and the more she believed it was Luca. Her pink fingers rested on the hilt for expedient and easy removal from the sheath in a pinch. "Luca, it's Hotaru." She called, far enough away from the boy so that if he attacked, Hotaru could efficiently jump to safety. Hopefully he had noticed her before she said anything, however. The pseudo-blizzard wasn't that strong. "Where's Koyuki?" She asked, noticing the grey-haired boy wasn't here with him. She assumed they would be together, hence the situation in her thoughts moments before.
It didn't seem to Hotaru like the blonde was listening however, and only now did she realize that his eyes were looking somewhere else. She followed his gaze with her own and was met by several pairs of yellow irises. She jumped to Luca's side and slipped her own sword out, getting ready for battle. This would be her first. "I suppose this isn't the best time to mention I've never battled in this game before." Her voice was a bit shaky, but she didn't know whether it was caused by the cold or the anxiety from the impending battle. Nevertheless her rapier held steady in the air, ready for anything. This game was terribly real, however you could not really die. There was always a respawn point somewhere in the world, though it wasn't always close to where you wanted to be. Still, Hotaru felt as if her life was at stake. A quick shiver went up her spine at the thought, but she stood firm as the eyes appeared to be getting closer. A surprise visit from Koyuki would be good right about now...

One question... do multipliers stack? There's the party one and the event one...
After Koyuki entered the Teleport Gate, he would feel the same feeling of flying through a white tube as when he first started the game. Beams of rainbow lights raced passed him as he continued his teleportation to the event area. Koyuki could feel the air around him become cold, or what was simulated as air and simulated as cold, on his skin, he had almost forgotten how real this place was for the senses. The shock to his system lasted for only a minute as his body had finally reappeared, the feeling of being deconstructed and reconstructed when teleporting was something Koyuki felt he'd never get over, and once his whole body was fully in the new area, it sent shivers down his spine. As Koyuki stood still, he would notice he wasn't in a town, or if he was, it certainly was a woodsy one. Instantly, almost like it was second nature Koyuki reached around and grabbed for his dagger, unsheathing it and holding it loosely, yet at the ready. His grey eyes would scan the area, only to see medium ranked snowfall that seemed to never increase the depth of snow on the ground, which was strange. Sight wasn't too reliable as the snow would block out anything from more than about ten feet away. Koyuki made the decision to rely on his ears. In the real world Koyuki had always taken note that whenever it snowed, everything was quieter, and little things could be heard clearer than usual, and since SAO was based on being as real as possible, Koyuki bet on the act that the same principle applied here. His bet payed off. Koyuki could hear the crunch of snow as it fell from the branches above and slam into the snow covered ground below, he could hear the chirping of birds trying to get shelter from the snowfall as well, their wing beats and their chirping was almost all too clear for him.
Koyuki would begin to move, slowly as the snow crunching beneath his feet would cause interference with his listening ability. His steps were slow, giving Koyuki time to listen for a second or two between each one for anything that would change. The entire time Koyuki walked, he was in a crouched position, with both his arms extended to give him balance, the right arm would be infront of him with the dagger at the ready, his left am would be behind him to give him steady balance for any sudden moves. After a few moments of walking, Koyuki managed to spot some fresh foot prints. They looked fairly small, but he couldn't tell how new they were with the snowfall, but they were headed towards the right. Not knowing if his bet would pay of again, Koyuki said a quick prayer and followed the foot trail. It wasn't long after that, that Koyuki had come into sight of two silhouettes in the distance, but because of the snow it was almost impossible to tell of their gender or identity. Koyuki's grip would tighten on his dagger as he made his way closer. However, the closer he got the easier it was for him to see that his second bet had paid off. Koyuki had found his new friends and party members at last! A smile came to Koyuki's lips, that is, until he noticed their weapons were drawn. Koyuki would then rush to their side to see what was wrong, only to find himself in the midst of an ocean of yellow eyes. Koyuki laughed nervously. "So much for a winter wonderland with sleigh bells and horse drawn sleighs.. right?" Koyuki would crack a joke and laugh to ease the tension.
"Last one standing buys the egg nog!" Koyuki said and crouched down low. His outfit was dominantly white, which was great for being evasive in battle of snow fields, the other colors helped, the grey and black were other assisting colors in his wardrobe. The Red and brown weren't much, and were easily covered up by rearranging some of the cloth on his outfit. Koyuki would charge into where the eyes were awaiting him, dagger in his front and hand behind him. As Koyuki charged, he could see eight eyes separating from the others, and four wolves would appear, charging right at Koyuki. 'Wolves?! Those are gonig to be tough..' Koyuki thought to himself. The wolves would charge in an experienced formation, and the lead wolf jumped into the air for a lunge, going for a tackle but Koyuki's crouched state assisted his evasion. Koyuki would do a tuck and roll to go under the air-borne wolf, and in mid roll Koyuki slid his dagger up into the air where the wolf would be and was lucky enough to stab it in the chest, and tear it town it's belly as it flew passed him - it wouldn't be enough to kill him in one hit, but it damaged it. however Koyuki couldn't keep his attention on one at a time as three other wolves were alerady coming in for the charge. Completing the roll landed Koyuki on his feet just in time to catch a wolf's jaws on his free hand's forearm. The pain was excruciating, it was like Koyuki could feel the teeth sink into his flesh, but doing this gave Koyuki the opportunity to take out his first wolf. Grinning and bearing the pain, Koyuki took his dagger and quickly stabbed the wolf in his neck twice before jabbing the blade deep into it's belly and ripping it open. Data fragments flew everywhere instead of blood, and though there was no blood from Koyuki's arm, he knew a small chunk of damage would be taken.
Koyuki watched his HP drop by 50, which was a big deal for a tiny bite. these Wolves sure packed a bite, no pun intended. Soon Koyuki saw the two other wolves charging at him, flanking him. These wolves sure were realistic, hunting in packs and with a battle strategy? 'They sure went all out with this game!' Koyuki thought to himself. "Delay!" Koyuki called out, using the Delay skill to stop one of the wolves from moving for the briefest of moments. Taking this opportunity, Koyuki did another roll to get behind the frozen wolf before it started to move again, and as it started moving, lunging after Koyuki who was already gone from it's path, Koyuki would use his skill Sting and pierce the dagger into the back of the wolf's head, dragging it down as it lunged upwards to try for extra damage, which was successful, as Koyuki landed a critical hit. however, Koyuki's attention was too focused and Koyuki was too late to react to the fourth wolf, which would jump at Koyuki and slash it's claws across Koyuki's back. "Argh!" Koyuki would call out as he fell back towards the group. At least there were two wovles left for him, then he could worry about helping the other party members with their wolves.

What fools, to have come into the depths of their home in the forest. What the foolish humans didn't know, was that it wasn't the three of them versus four Centruy Wolves, but twelve. The girly looking human with the gray hair disappeared into the darkness where four of the brethren sat, stalking their prey. The poor soul would easily be torn to shreds.
Violent Fox
Yet another set of eyes would appear directly to Luca's right. Wolves would begin to emerge from the shadows, baring their teeth at the blonde haired male. They all began to rush at Luca, before beginning to surround the male on all sides. The snarling and blood thirsty howls would send shivers down any mans spine. The four wolves rushed the male again, all of them attacking at the same time. Each wolf would bite at a limb, again threatening to tear apart their human prey.

Another four sets of sharp yellow eyes would suddenly appear to the left of the blue haired girl. Low growls would be heard from the depths of the shadows. The darkness seemingly moved forward, creeping towards the girl. The darkness then began to take shape, revealing wolves that heavily contrasted the snow that lay beneath their feet. The four wolves snarled at the girl, then they took off, dashing towards their prey. The wolves split into two groups of two, and quickly started to circle the girl. The group that split off to Hotaru's left, would find themselves suddenly upon the girl, moving in for a frontal assault. Grunts and growls were heavy from the wolves, their sharp teeth baring, before making the final leap at the throat of the girl, threatening to rip her apart. The wolves that ran around behind her, continued to circle, and waited for their brethren to make contact with the girl.
Enchanted Cherubim
Two members of the Century Wolf pack had been slayed by the gray haired brat, and the third was heavily damaged. The two wolves began to circle Koyuki, observing their target, as most wolves did. The white that the man thought would help provide camouflage, simply would not. A wolves fangs were sharp, but it's eyes were much sharper. The injured wolf slowed down to a trot, waiting for it's brother to catch up for a final assault. The two wolves took off, dashing directly at Koyuki's front, the stronger of the two wolves would find itself upon Koyuki first. Leaping high, the wolf held out stretched claws, threatening to slash the mans face. This however, was not the focus of the strategy. The injured wolf was directly behind it's brother as it leaped for Koyuki's face. The injured wolf continued it's dash forward, and underneath it's brother, hiding beneath as the uninjured wolf went for the distraction. The injured wolf would jet upwards underneath, lunging at Koyuki's throat with blood stained teeth.
@Winevy: It's up to you. You can slay just the two wolves I had attack you, or after you kill those two, you can finish off the others in the same post. I'll let you take control of the last two wolves if you desire. @Cherubim: I hope you enjoyed that xD

"I want something to die for, to make it beautiful to live."
Calm, cool and collect. The three best words that could describe Luca as of now, despite the predicament he was wrapped up in. Luca controlled his breathing, slowly letting the icy cool air fill his lungs, before exhaling through his mouth. The heat of the air would create the occasional white puff of hot air, reminding Luca of just how cold their environment was. But he wasn't worried about that now, his attention was focused on what was in front of him. Four sets of sharp yellow eyes, none wavering, but held steady as they watched Luca, their prey. Luca tightened his grip on his curved sword, his knuckles turning as white as the snow around him, waiting for the eyes to strike. He could feel it, the killing intent that was behind the eyes, and the thirst for blood from the growls and snarls.
The eyes would suddenly waver, and Luca would tighten up, getting ready for the strike. He felt as if his knuckles were going to begin bleeding. Any moment now, the eyes would dart from the darkness. Luca waited, and waited, yet the eyes did not come. But why? Were they scared? They couldn't be, the feeling Luca got from the situation was much to controlled by the eyes for them to be afraid. What was it? Luca could hear snow crunching in the distance. From his peripheral vision, Luca could see a diamond floating closer and closer to him. Luca didn't dare take his eyes away to see what was coming, but instead prayed that it would be help. Not that he needed it per say, but only because he was up against an unknown enemy. A familiar voice called out his name. ~Hotaru! Thank god, now we just need to find Koyuki!~ Luca thought to himself. Hotaru too questioned about Koyuki's whereabouts, yet Luca didn't answer. Luca hoped that she was a sharp girl to see that they weren't alone.
And right he was. Hotaru instantly leaped to Luca's side, blade drawn and unwavering. Hotaru, despite being only level one, held her blade with much confidence, which was rare for a beginner, but Luca was glad that she knew what she was doing. But then, she said the magical phrase that would instantly crush ANYONE'S confidence in a tight situation. The words rang in his head, like an annoying alarm clock at three in the morning. ~Never battled in this game before... Perfect.~ Luca thought to himself. He instinctively wanted to plant his face into his palm, yet he himself held position. "God Koyuki... where are you?" He mumbled to himself.
No sooner than Luca finished his sentence, A voice was heard from behind the two. It was clearly Koyuki. Luca grinned at Koyuki's comment, about the horse drawn sleighs and buying eggnog. "I guess it's going to be you who buys the eggnog then." Luca called to him. Koyuki suddenly vanished, having charged head on into the sea of yellow eyes. "So much for being a stealthy treasure hunter... That guy's gonna get himself killed if he fights those things by himself! Let's go Hotaru!" Luca managed to take a several steps forward before he was halted yet again. More of those eyes appeared, and started emerging from the shadows of the treeline. Black paws emerged first, followed by the long muzzles of what was unmistakeably a wolf. "s**t! Hotaru!" Luca called, looking over his shoulder to see the blue haired girl. Luca could see that she too was going to have to encounter her own group of wolves. ~Dammit! This isn't good. These wolves are smart, trying to separate us and take us down one by one! The developers really don't skip a beat do they...~ Luca thought to himself. Luca took stance once more, holding his blade over his head, pointing at the wolves that were ahead of him. His left hand was placed palm first towards the enemy, and with this Luca was ready.
The wolves were quick in their actions, having already surrounded Luca, making him an easy take down, or so the wolves thought. What they didn't know, was that Luca was not one to go down without kicking or screaming. "Hotaru! Listen, I know this is your first time battling..." Luca said as he positioned his blade for a counter. "... position your blade into the form of an attack, or a defense..." The wolves suddenly stopped their circling motion, and moved in for the kill. "...feel your technique come to life..." Luca's blade began to glow red. "... and let it explode." Luca finalized. The first wolf was already upon him, about to snap it's jaws around his out stretched hand. Luca let the technique take over and explode, the now red glowing curved blade swiftly moved forward, the back side of the blade slid across Luca's out stretched hand, allowing for him to use both hands to push the first wolf away with a parry. Flashes of the boars Luca had fought earlier raced through his mind for a fraction of a second, before Luca made his next move.
Luca's blade came blitzing in between his arm and torso, jetting out his backside and stabbing the second wolf in the face. A furious howl could be heard from the wolf as a slice of red coding peeked through it's face. The wolf leaped back in pain, gaining distance from Luca. Instinctively, Luca leaped forward toward the opening he had created after parrying the first wolf, and fell into a forward tumble with his blade still between his arm and torso. As he tumbled he heard two loud snaps as the remaining two wolves just missed snapping at Luca's face, and crashed into each other. Luca finished his rolling technique, and quickly came back to his feet, taking his stance once more. The first wolf he parried had already recovered and moved in for another attack. Luca pointed his blade toward the wolf, positioning it this time for an attack. The blade became blue, and Luca let his next Technique explode. Luca passed along the side of the wolf, his blade slicing through it's hide, exposing red coding. As soon as Luca passed the wolf, it fell to the snow, and disappeared.
Luca continued moving forward, as now the other three wolves had recovered and were moving in again, side by side.. Luca this time was ready to intercept. Luca's feet began to glow, activating his 'Acrobatics' skill. Luca and the three wolves would meet, them leaping in for an attack, but with Luca leaping over them in a twisting fashion. Luca opened up mid air above one of wolves, his blade already glowing red once more, and pierced his blade through the skull of the wolf in the middle. The wolf immediately disappeared in red coding before Luca even reached the ground. The remaining two wolves halted and quickly turned around to face Luca, baring their blood stained fangs at the warrior. Luca landed what he thought was gingerly, but in fact was more rough due to his now injured leg. One of the wolves managed to dig their claws into his calf while he was mid air. Luca watched his health drop. It wasn't life threatening, but a few more hits like the one he just received and it would be.
Luca watched the two wolves carefully, one remained unscathed, while the other had a fragment of red coding upon it's face where it had been stabbed but moments ago. Snow crunched, not with the wolves heading for an attack, but with Luca, as he now was on the offensive. His cloak blew behind him as he mad his mad dash towards the wolves, his blade stretched out to his right. The wolves growled furiously, and dashed at Luca, one behind the other. Luca smirked, for he knew this was it. Luca spun his blade in his hand, now holding it in a inverted position. They again met each other, and Luca sure enough was ready. His blade began to glow red, and the technique exploded. The first wolf leaped for Luca's face, while the other remained on it's path behind it's brother. Luca slid on one knee, leaning backwards as the first wolf jumped over him. Luca suddenly shot himself back up, now face to face with the second wolf. His inverted blade sliced through the wolfs side, from it's chest to it's hind legs. The wolf dropped to the ground, and disappeared into red coding. Now for the last wolf.
Luca quickly spun around to his feet one last time, holding his sword normally, but it was too late. The wolf with red coding on it's face was already mid leap, and about get a chunk out of Luca. Luca stumbled backwards, and tripped on his own feet. ~Oh no!~ Luca thought. Just when he thought he had the upper hand, he simply did not. Luca closed his eyes and braced himself for impact from the wolf. "Yelp!" The last sound that Luca heard in the forest. Silence fell over him, and the bitter cold continued to bite at Luca as he now lay in snow. His breathing was still heavy, perhaps because now he was dead and had no health left. Was this death in SAO? Luca opened his eyes slowly, and hovering over him was the last black century wolf. It's fangs baring at the young warrior, though it's sharp yellow eyes, were now lifeless. Luca could see his blade protruding through the wolfs back, and finally the wolf burst into red coding. Luca lay in shock as the loot screen popped up, displaying how much Exp he had received for fighting the wolves. Luca let out a long sigh of relief, for he actually felt that his life was on the line. Looking up to his health bar, Luca noticed that he lost more health from the wolfs last attack. Luca gently sat himself up, and brushed some of the snow that had covered him. He closed his loot screen and let out another long sigh. Then it hit him. "Hotaru! Koyuki!" He yelled. Luca quickly sat up, and ran to check on his teammates, praying that they were alright.
Shadows seemed to separate from the mass of them far off into the distance, towards Hotaru, much to her dismay. Low growls became all she could focus on. She shivered, and it ran all the way up the tip of her rapier, but her feet were still firmly planted into the ground, in a stance she wasn't quite sure where she learned from. Because of her condition in real life, moving normally was a chore, and fighting was nearly impossible, so her current posture wasn't from previous knowledge. It must have been put automatically into her brain from the game. Battles were realistic, but they still needed to have some sort of system, and 'handicap' so to say for players that have never even gone close to a sword before.
The cloud of darkness silently approaching the blue haired girl manifested itself as four black wolves, their stalking quickly speeding up into a charge as they saw their prey. She backed up instinctively, expecting to hit the back of either Luca or Koyuki, but it seemed they were preoccupied with their own mini mob of wolves, as a quick glance from Hotaru confirmed. The pack seemed to be organized and the eyes split off equally to have the same number attacking each player. They weren't programmed to see levels, apparently, or there probably only would have been one or two attacking Hotaru. From what she could see, Luca and Koyuki had some experience fighting and were probably several levels above her. Her mouth dipped into a frightened frown. These wolves were nothing like the boars in the Vast Grasslands she learned about. Those were slimes; what she should be fighting right about now. Not mobbing wolves.
At the sound of Luca's voice, Hotaru's attention curled around his words. She listened with her ears, as her eyes were too busy watching wolves to make sure they didn't rip her to shreds. Luca's instructions bounced around in her brain as she tried to take his advice. Position your blade into the form of an attack, or a defense... Her sword hand pointed forward into the beginning of a thrust. Feel your technique come to life... This was a strange direction. Hotaru at first believed that Luca was just being poetic, but as she focused on her rapier, it began to glow, and she really could feel the technique in it. And let it explode. Before she recalled those words, the girl already knew what to do. She could feel it. Her sword was ready to attack. She sprinted forward at the nearest wolf to her front and stabbed its head. She didn't look at her result before jumping back on reflex after hearing a pained growl.
She swallowed her fear, and when the wolves began to circle her like vultures to dying prey, she lurched forward with her blade and thrust into a wolf's flank. The point sunk a few inches into it's side until Hotaru pulled back and jumped. A red slash appeared on the wolf, though it didn't look like flesh. It seemed like... data, and the sight that she was in a game and these wolves were fake gave her the confidence she needed to take them out, however long it may need to take. The wolf flinched in pain, but quickly began to ignore it and lunged forward in the direction of Hotaru's throat. Out of the corner of her eye she saw another one in the opposite direction of the attacking wolf also jump up out of the snow, baring teeth that were meant to kill. The girl did a quick roll through the snow out of the way of the mobs, and and as soon as she was upright, stabbed both of them several times in quick succession. Rapiers were not meant for damage, they were meant for piercing enemies as quick as you could move. Though this particular sword might be broad enough to cut to some degree, and was sharpened on both sides to lend itself to slicing, the majority of damage caused by it would be due to stabbing.
Hotaru grinned in satisfaction as one wolf materialized into red flecks of data, signaling a death, and she quietly celebrated her first kill, but also kept her eyes on the other attacker. Its growling was much less like an intimidation factor now, and rose to it's full level at the death of its comrade but mostly because of the damage of it's wounds. But one wolf was all she was concentrating on; there were still two circling around her, waiting for an opening, and opening which Hotaru inadvertently gave. Watching four targets at the same time was difficult, especially when all of them were moving as separate entities. Though each shared an attack pattern and the actual attacks themselves, each wolf would make it's attack at different times than another, and that's what really messed up Hotaru. A circling wolf jumped from her side and cleanly sunk it's teeth into her thigh, through the cloak and leather pants. Her face contorted into a grimace of pain. It wasn't real pain, she could tell, but it felt real, and that was all that mattered. All her weight went to her uninjured leg to support her injured leg, and the light stance she kept up so far was lost. She watched her HP instantly drop to the border between green and yellow health. The speculation from earlier was confirmed by her health. These wolves were much stronger than she. The strange, sharp pain that originated at the source of the bite spread through her entire leg, but Hotaru ran toward the wolf that bit her anyway, determined to kill it before she would worry about the others.
Adrenaline rushed through her digital veins, and she stabbed the wolf, swiftly back-stepping to avoid another deadly bite that would no doubt cause heavy damage if it connected with Hotaru. She jumped again, her uninjured leg creating the most of the push, and raised her sword into the air, preparing for a slash. She attacked the wolf with all she had, only finally pulling back when her stamina bar got low. A wolf from the side charged forward, but Hotaru was actually focused on all the wolves this time, and she aimed her sword as if in a block, and the foe's teeth clamped around her sword. At this realization the black wolf's bite began to release in preparation for another, and Hotaru slashed in and to her side in one smooth motion of her arm, and the wolf was almost beheaded, to her surprise. So maybe her rapier was sharper than she imagined. The enemy shattered. Another down.
One of the last two wolves sprang into the air for another attack, but Hotaru was more than expecting that. She readied her sword in a defensive position, blade pointing down, the cutting edge away from her chest, and it began to glow, her Parry skill activating itself. Though the parry attack for rapiers was meant more for sword-on-sword battles, she could adjust. The wolf jumped into the sword and immediately bounced off as if struck, and Hotaru moved in for an attack, jabbing at the wolf's underside a couple of times until it disintegrated into the air. Before she could even sidestep to face the other wolf, it attacked with a speed none of the other wolves had used beforehand, and it caught Hotaru off guard. The wolf bit down cleanly on her wrist before the girl could guard. If this was real life, the girl's wrist would have snapped instantly. Blinding pain shot from her forearm to behind her eyes. Her legs stumbled to recover from the incomplete parry and although she was facing the wolf now, she herself didn't look so good. Her health was almost in the red from that attack, and one more hit was sure to be her death. She gritted her teeth at that thought. A first death in a first battle was embarrassingly terrible. She didn't want that to happen to her.
Without her thinking, her feet jumped forward toward the wolf, sidestepping any snaps the wolf would give. It looked like she was circling the mob now. Her sword pointed straight towards the enemy with every movement of Hotaru's and the position of it constantly shifted as the wolf did. It was hard for the wolf to bite when there was a sword pointed right at its face no matter how it tried to move away from it. Hotaru pulled in her arm a few inches to prepare for an attack, and the wolf mistook it for an opening, and luged forward towards the girl's head, large, heavy fangs bared and ready to crush bone. And Hotaru, her sword already glowing, thrusted her sword point first into the wolf's open mouth, and it slid easily through the back of the wolf's head. A large spot of red data appeared, and the wolf started to run away in defeat when it suddenly burst into jagged red shapes.
Only now did Hotaru really feel the effects of her health being near the red and a full five minutes of fighting enemies of a higher level than her. Her breathing was heavy and ragged, and although her pain was nothing bad compared to what it was seconds after the attack and what she was used to, it still felt proportional to the amount of damage she had taken. Her injured leg gave out and her other followed, and she collapsed to her knees, staring at the spot where the last wolf died. Luca and Koyuki seemed to be finished with their fights if not almost done with them; the ocean of growls had turned into a couple of stray yelps and the sound of swords making contact. She was concentrating on her breathing when Luca ran up to her. She was flooded with relief. His health meter looked great, even after four wolves, and she knew that if more attacked he could take care of them. Just like she could see her health, he could probably tell her health meter didn't look so great.
"Well, I'm glad to see you're alive." She said to Luca from her kneeling position on the snow. She tried to get up, but her body protested the movement, even though it wasn't the pain that held her back. It was a strange feeling. With the help of her hands and the support of a nearby tree she stood, her weight on the leg that wasn't bitten, and her uninjured arm cradling the bitten one. Her eyes flashed to Koyuki's health bar in the top corner of her head's up display, in the party section, but it looked as if he was doing alright. Hotaru was still worried and started to walk at an almost normal pace towards where Koyuki was. With how it seemed to be going so far, by the time the two got there Koyuki would be finished with his wolves as well. "Any chance you have a health potion or something because I'm not feeling too great." She asked Luca calmly. The dull pain had nearly subsided but even so her health was still very low. She kicked herself for not buying those expensive potions back in the town. She didn't exactly need the money currently.
Koyuki would get into a defensive position after his little tuck and roll bit. Once he was done the roll Koyuki managed to get back up onto his feet fast enough to see the two wolves left circling him. The one he damaged with an obvious limp and would probably be no more trouble, but it was the second one he needed to worry about. As the four yellow, menacing eyes stared him down Koyuki would keep his dagger at ready, his knuckles and fingers turning white from the combination of the cold weather and the tight grip Koyuki had on the weapon. Koyuki could hear the fighting of the others come to an end. 'Thank god they're alright!' Koyuki thought to himself, glad that the other two were out of harms way for now. However, when he looked at Hotaru, Koyuki noticed her HP bar was in the Red, which alarmed him a bit.
That's when the wolves stuck. Once Koyuki's attention was on his party members the two wolves came at Koyuki with a combo attack. Turning back to face the wolves Koyuki instinctively reached his left, free hand forward. "Delay!" Koyuki called on the healthy wolf and froze him in mid-air. The second, injured wolf bound for Koyuki's throat, but instead Koyuki's free hand was able to reach out and grab the neck of the on-coming wolf. Using the wolf's momentum against it, Koyuki flung the wolf through the air and slammed it into the ground by it's neck before stabbing the wolf in it's chest and ripping it sideways, leaving a large red data gash across it's belly before it burst into data fragments. Koyuki would then try to get his attention back to the other wolf, but he wasn't fast enough. the wolf had un-frozen from the Delay and was on top of Koyuki, pinning him down, but again Koyuki used the momentum from the wolf and continued the roll, getting his legs underneath the wolf, Koyuki would roll backwards and kick his legs before the wolf had any real hold on him.
The wolf went flying backwards and Koyuki would get up as fast as he could. Watching his HP bar drop even lower from the gashes in his chest, Koyuki looked over to the wolf that was a bit stunned from the blow it took. Thoguh it received no real damage, the action and experience it went through shocked it a bit. however, the experience didn't last long as the wolf was now charging back at Koyuki. Koyuki crouched down and held his dagger in a jabbing position, his eyes locked onto the wolf's menacing eyes. As the wolf drew closer Koyuki's blade began to glow a bright green color, acting as a beacon of promise that the wolf was about to die. Koyuki stood watch as the wolf lunged at him, baring it's fangs and claws and intent to kill Koyuki. Then, Koyuki's skill exploded. "Sting!" Koyuki had a habit of callnig out his attacks, and he would run forward to meet the wolf in mid-air, Pullnig the blade back to give it more power before thrusting, his arm moved so fast it was just a blur, and soon, even though Koyuki would take damage from it, Koyuki's arm was buried into the wolf's gaping mouth up to his elbow, Koyuki's dagger cutting through it's inside. Soon after, the wolf erupted into shining red data fragments, the battle was now over. Each of the three had completed their respective battle and had slain their respective foes, coming out alive and well, for the most part. Though they all took some fair damage, they were all alive, which was the best prize. Walking over to the other two, Koyuki watched his own health bar drop into the red zone. "So.. If we're all still standing. Who buys the egg nog?" Koyuki said with a light chuckle and a warm smile on his face.

Dawn began to get up and stretch. He was bothered when some people had appeared and began to fight. They were taking out wolves. Again Dawn got this slight tugging at his stomach as if they shouldn’t be attacking the wolves. But it was just a game. Wolves didn’t really matter to him in this world.” Oh well.” He shrugged and finished stretching. Dawn then began to worry about the outside world. He got a cold feeling that his mother my want him off the game by now. Dawn shook off his feeling. His mother really wasn’t the one to worry. Dawn then came to the decision that he might want to party up with this group. He stood up and waited for one of them to notice him.
Luca rushed to Hotaru's side, instantly noticing that her health meter was dangerously low, and Hotaru definitely looked the part. She was breathing deeply, and struggling to get on her feet. "Hah, you don't look so bad yourself." Luca jested, though in all seriousness, he was concerned. Hotaru pulled through by supporting herself from a nearby tree before Luca could even reach down to help her. She seemed to be able to walk normally, though that didn't stop Luca from walking closely behind her, just in case if she started to fall. Luca followed Hotaru to where Koyuki, hopefully, stood just beyond the treeline. Hotaru asked Luca if he happened to have any Health Potions on his person. And for the third time that day, Luca wanted to place a fist through his own face, not because of Hotaru not having any health potions, but because he himself didn't have any. "Unfortunately no..." Luca trailed off before cursing himself. "We'll have to see if we can find someone that might have one, or perhaps there is a town nearby here in which we can acquire some." Luca said to Hotaru. The two finally made it to the treeline, and there they found Koyuki, who was now making his way towards them after slaying his own group of wolves. Luca instantly noticed, that his health too, was in the red. Luca again cursed silently to himself.
"Well... seeing as I have the most health... I guess it would be me?" Luca said with a grin on his face. Luca was glad to see that the other two were alright, and he still had a good amount of health left over after his encounter. Should the three find themselves in trouble again, Luca would be able to take care of things. Then again, if they encountered yet another group of wolves, similar tactics might be tried again where the three would be separated from each other. And if that happened, their survival couldn't be guaranteed. What were they going to do? Luca pondered to himself. He really was worried about his new friends, which was weird seeing as most people wouldn't care less after having just met new people. But that's what made Luca the person he was. A caring individual who put others before himself. Luca looked up, seeing a familiar face not too far off in the distance. Who was it? The red hair was so familiar... Oh! Luca cupped his hands together around his mouth and shouted, "Hey! I know you!" Luca lightly jogged over to the familiar red haired player. "Ah yes! I remember seeing you in the Vast Grasslands earlier today! You put on quite the display." Luca said to the player. Luca remembered watching the player, his swordsmanship was excellent, and hardly even suffered a scratch from those boars!
Wait a second, an idea clicked in Luca's mind. "Say, why don't you party up with us? We could use the help. You see, we accidentally forgot to buy Health Potions back in the Town of Beginnings, and if we get attacked by another group of wolves like that, I'm not sure were gonna be able to survive. So, will you join us?" Luca asked the male. He slid his hand down vertically, opening up his player menu. Selecting Party Invite, Luca invited the player into his party. Hopefully Hotaru and Koyuki wouldn't object, I'm sure they would realize that they stood no chance if they were attacked again. The three really could use all the help they can get.

@Winevy: Sorry forgot to answer your previous question: No, we only get the Double XP I believe, though don't quote me on that just yet, I'll ask Ty first. And for your second question: Yes, for every monster we slay, we get 10 col.

Koyuki smiled and preformed an arm pump, glad that he wasn't the one who was going to have to buy the Egg Nog. however, Koyuki had never been a fan of egg nog, so he'd probably try to get a different warm holiday drink out of the bargain. "Sometimes it sucks to be the winner, hm?" Koyuki laughed and pat Luca's back gently. His smile almost faded when he saw the HP line for Hotaru, but he forced himself to keep it up, not wanting to alarm them since it was just a game after all. Koyuki sheathed his weapon and swiped his finger down to open his character menu. Checking his character stats and items, he noticed that he was awarded a bit of Col after defeating those last few monsters. A warm smile came to his lips that completely neutralized the bitter cold. It was such a good feeling to see that defeating monsters awarded something, even if it was only a bit. There was also a tinge of discouragement as there were no items dropped. Koyuki'd get over it, the group was still low level after all, rare items and valuable items wouldn't come until later in the game, so he'd just grin and bare it for now.
Koyuki would close his menu and walk over to Hotaru. "Hotaru-hime. I'm sorry I had to miss you in action. A cute girl such as yourself beating the crap out of monsters? It's quite the pleasant sight to see." He smiled warmly and would grab for her hand, lifting it to his lips and kissing the back of her fingers softly before letting them go. "Congratulations on your first battle and victory." Koyuki would smile before turning his attention to Luca. "So, as the victor of our bet, where shall we go to buy the drinks? I look forward to sharing my first victory drink with my new friends." Koyuki chuckled and put an arm around Luca's shoulders and hugged tightly and briefly, letting go shortly after.
After a bit of time traveling some more, Luca spots someone else. 'What? Someone is in this place without a party? Are they freaking crazy?!' Koyuki thought to himself as he followed Luca. It seemed that Luca knew the man. Luca went on to talk about how the man had put on a great performance, which meant this man was a skilled fighter. Listening along with Luca as he talks to this man, he smiles when Luca extends the invitation to a party. It would be quite beneficial if the group had the full fourth member of their party. Koyuki was instantly in agreement, however, Luca had forgotten to ask his party members what they thought. However, Koyuki could understand Luca's excitement and would just brush it off to that. no hard feelings would be felt in this party, especially not by Koyuki. Koyuki would await to see what happened with the invitation, quietly hoping that the man would accept. Luca was right, the group could definitely use the help.

As Dawn finished stretching himself out, he heard a familiar voice. The voice had said. "Hey I Know you." As Dawn turned to see where the voice was coming from, he gripped the hilt of his one handed long sword. He then turned to see the blue haired kid he had seen at the Vast Grasslands. Dawn then thought to himself. "This kid must've been the one behind the slaughtering of the wolves." Dawn shrugged of the thought. He then heard the boy ask him if he wanted to join his party. Dawn didn't think that it would be this easy. "Um...Uh Sure...why not." Dawn shrugged and as the small screen popped up Dawn accepted the request. To Dawn's surprise he had seen there where about two other people in the party. He looked at the names."Hmm, I'm guessing your Luka. It seems to fit you... And the others uh ..... Koyuki and Um...Hotaru..?"
