Edlyre's eyes darted back and forth as the ground near them began to rumble and shake. He let out a cry of surprise when the giant creature emerged from the ground. "What in the world!?" he shouted as he took several steps backward. Standing there in bewilderment, he watched as the creature retreated into the hole from which it came. He had only a moment to gather his bearings when he heard the screetching from above from the strange birdlike creatures that swooped in. Taking cover behind some stones, he managed to avoid being slashed by the fire and talons. He heard a loud *c***k* in the rock noticing a deep gash in the stone from where the talon had struck.
Wide eyed at the sharpness of the talons, he kept an eye on any of them flying nearby. He wanted to make sure that he would not be attacked from his blind spots by backing himself to a larger stone. The situation was further worsened when he heard the howls from the cave. This was not a good situation as they were greatly outnumbered. Readying his weapons and gear, he prepared himself hoping to take on the birds while the others took their nearest foes.

Jeeves eyes grew wide as things unfolded rather quickly. They grew wider with each new fiend that appeared. Giant worms, fiery phoenix, more lycanthropes like the one they had fought earlier, and some sort of rocky plated creatures. This was absolutely the best day ever! She dearly hoped they wouldn't completely destroy the more interesting specimens so she could research and catalog them. She reluctantly slipped her notebook away and pulled her goggles over her eyes before slipping two small plugs into her nostrils. She then slipped behind a nearby tree and fished a few vials into her hands from beneath her coat. The fiends seemed to be busy with the warriors for now, so Jeeves would lend support where she thought it best. In the mean time, she would have to rely on visual data to write down later.

((thought I might bring an old character back.))
After his comrades had left for another journey, he had stayed behind to further his training due to the results of his first mission. He had made a lot of rookie mistakes, but many of which would be corrected with practice and experience. He had met the caravan on his way to join up with the group at their destination and found it safer to travel in a large group rather on his own. In such a fiend infested land, traveling alone was a death sentence.
He found the joining a mutually beneficial one in that they needed more protection, which he could provide. In return, they would give him a portion of their ration and a bit of payment as well as allowing him accompany them. It had been nearly a week before they finally reached the crossroads. Hiro thanked the caravan and went on his way and they as well. In the distance, he heard the rustle and screeching of creatures and men. The sound of metal and rock clashing indicated that something was wrong. Picking up the pace he eventually came across the group and their attackers. Recognizing a few of them he rushed in to lend a hand.
With a shout for battle, he launched himself as one of the flying creatures was about to attack Edlyre. Jumping into the air, he used the momentum of his body to put the full force into his kick. The strike connected forcing the creature to fall from the air and tumble into the ground. Angry at the sudden attack, the bird cried out in anger and circled round for another attack. Hiro patiently watched the bird's movement and waited for it to charge. Seeing that it was within range, he took a deep breath and let out a deep bellow from within. The low sudden vibration startled and confused the enemy allowing him to make a strong strike at top of the head. He could hear the sound of bone shattering under the weight of the strike. Again, the bird tumbled to the dirt, but now lay motionless.
Hiro then went to see to Edlyre. "Are you ok?" he asked.
"I'm fine. Thank you, but you should tend to the others." he said pointing to the other warriors preoccupied with their opponents. Hiro didn't need to be told twice. Rushing to their aid, he joined in the chaos.
