Ryuu's face was fixed in a frown as Johnny spoke. Sighing after Johnny finished Ryuu scratched the back of his head. "You know, if you weren't injured I'd smack you upside the head for calling yourself weak. You're not weak, just inexperienced. You just need more training. I've been in your spot before man I really have. You want to know what I did though? I started training to get stronger so that I wouldn't have to feel like that again. Tell you what, once you're all healed up I'll help you train. Back on my world I took fighting lessons starting when I was 12 1/2 so I'm pretty good." Ryuu smiled at Johnny and put his hands in his pockets.

Johnny chuckled softly and shook his head. "I thank you for the offer Ryuu. But I actually just remembered something, believe it or not." Smirking up at his friend, Johnny gave him a thumbs up and grinned wide. "Turns out that I'm a pretty inspirational guy. Been helping Kana out with the whole confidence thing, and when Nix went Anti-Form? Heh, seems I was able to convince the others to lay down their arms and just, y'know, talk to her. Never underestimate the power of friendship, love, and a few words Ryuu."
Shrugging, the redhead hopped off of the bench and walked towards the edge of the summit. Glancing down at the mountain path below, he watched as Rufio continued to exhaust himself in an attempt to improve himself in some way. Shrugging his shoulders once more, Johnny looked down at his right hand and summoned Heart Breaker. Clutching it tightly in his hand, the young man grinned. "There's something else you should know Ryuu." Turning around, Johnny propped his keyblade over his shoulder and smirked wide. "I kicked some serious Heartless a** on that mission to Radiant Garden! When all those Heartless kept flooding the area, something came over me. Pure fighting instinct I guess. I had fun. If I can learn to harness that kind of fighting instinct whenever a battle arises, I think I'll have it made. And in this case, I think going on missions again is just what I need. If I can fight some more Heartless or whatever else might be out there, I just know I can figure out how to tap into that fighting potential. So I thank you for the offer Ryuu, but until I can figure out how to harness that strange ability of mine, I don't think I'd make much of a sparring partner."

Ryuu quirked an eyebrow and smirked at Johnny's little monologue. He sighed and shook his head at Johnny's last comment as he walked up to him. "Johnny you sure are something special. Being able to fight well purely on instinct isn't too common. At least where I'm from, though that instinct will definitely save you from getting killed." Ryuu shrugged before he got an idea. "I wonder if we spar and I try to seriously injure you, maybe that instinct of yours will come out? Unless you'd rather just fight some Heartless." Ryuu chuckled before sitting down on the edge.

Johnny chuckled at his friend's request and shook his head. "I honestly appreciate what you're trying to do for me Ryuu, but the fact of the matter is that I don't..." Sighing softly, the redhead shook his head and glanced back down towards the training grounds below. "Ryuu, I don't feel comfortable so much as sparring with anybody right now. So much could go wrong in even a simple, light, friendly sparring match. If I hurt you, or you hurt me...even if it's sparring, it just...the whole prospect of friends hurting one another bothers me. The Heartless...I'm more comfortable taking on the Heartless and those Guild freaks than I am with sparring against anyone from Protega. I'm sorry." Shrugging, Johnny turned back to Ryuu and shook his head again. "I must sound really stupid, huh Ryuu? Ah well. Maybe we can take a mission together or something. Get out, kill some Heartless, make some worlds a little safer, that sort of thing. I wonder if there are any missions available right now?"

Ryuu nodded in understanding. "I get what you're saying. I felt like that too when I first started my fighting lessons so I understand." He thought about the aspect of going on a mission and killing some Heartless. "Yeah, it's been awhile since I actually fought someone or something so I'll go on a mission with you. Why don't we go check the board?"

Johnny smiled at his companion and nodded his head before throwing his arm around Ryuu's shoulders and bringing him closer. "Thanks for being so understanding man. Heh, you've been a really great friend to me already Ryuu. Maybe later, once I actually feel a bit more comfortable with the whole sparring idea, we can spar, alrighty?" Grinning, he patted his friend on the top of his head just to mess with him a bit before walking off. "Let's go check out the Mission Board, see what missions we might have. I'm looking forward to getting out there and kicking some Heartless a** with my best buddy!" Chuckling, he rushed off to the Forecourt with his friend.
