Galen looked flustered as he took her hand.
"Would it help if I said I was sorry?" he inquired meekly, ducking his head and peering up at her through his cropped bangs.
"And if I made you some tea and ah.. biscuits? If you don't think Udara would mind me borrowing some of her ingredients.." he gave a small grin, "I'm hoping you're the kind of girl that likes bribes and will forgive me if just saying sorry doesn't cut it."

That solicited a laugh, accompanied by a warm smile. "Let's see... I consider myself the kind of girl for whom an apology is adequate- but food would always sweeten the deal."
Her gaze drifted back to the peach mournfully. It looked like it would have once been delicious, but now it was just making the floor sticky. If they let it continue, the mess would be hard to get rid of, even between the two of them.
"If you could toss a napkin down, I should be able to manage the peach, while you start the food, kind sir."

He raised small brows.
"Now what kind of Hearth do you take me for? I'm certainly not going to make someone I nearly killed clean up the weapon." he said, shooting her another small grin.
"No, I got the mess.. if you could just kindly point me to the trash disposal." He picked up a chunk of sticky peach and crinkled his nose. "At least it's easier to carry now.. " Galen said wryly.

"If I remember correctly, there was one right... there!" Violet eyes lit up as she spotted the plain white container against the wall. Rolling up her loose silky sleeves to her elbows, she picked up another portion of peach and headed towards the trash.
"Oh, and might I ask your name? I feel it's only fitting for me to know the name of my murderer turned hero." She winked, then resumed her journey.

Galen peeled the peach away from his chest and started up the side of the wall. He figured he had better stay away from climbing objects that weren't firmly attached for the time being..
Reaching the top, he tossed the bit of peach into the trash and started down again.
"I'm Galen." he replied and gave a half-bow. "At your service. And how about yourself?"

The tall trash can posed the same problem the table had- how to get to the top. Brows furrowing, she sighed. Nothing short of a ramp or rope sling would get her up there. She was so into her deductions, she nearly missed the introductions.
"My name is Delphi. And under the cirsumstances, it is certainly a pleasure to make your aquaintance, sir Galen.
Her mind returned to the problem at hand. More than anything, she felt useless. She couldn't climb, or clean, or cook... what use was she outside the den?

Back down again, he held out his hands for the chunk of peach she was holding.
"Delphi." he repeated. "That's a nice name." He gave a firm nod and smiled. "Ah, now, you give me too much credit. I'm hardly a knight.. I'm more like a lady-in-waiting for now, delicately scented with the fragrance of peaches."
Galen tossed the rest of the peach into the trashcan and briskly dusted off his hands.. which, sadly, wasn't too effective with sticky fruit juice. He grimaced a little and then turned to Delphi with large eyes.
"Is there somewhere I can wash my hands?" he said hopefully. "I hardly know my way around the Villa.. I actually stayed in the garden quite a bit on my prior visits. I didn't want to intrude on Udara, you see."

"Perhaps you are, but that's not a bad thing. All knights do is go around yelling and waving pointy sticks at people, whereas ladies in waiting are dignified, intelligent, and gracious." She lowered her head in a mock bow. "Not to mention far better smelling than sweat or blood."
He was right though, she had gotten sticky too. Drat. Still, this might be one way to prove her worth. "I believe there is one atop the counter, yet the faucets would be hard to manage. Perhaps there is another mode of cleaning around."

"Ah, but if there were no knights who would we sigh and flutter our eyelashes over?" Galen asked, batting his own eyes. "And admit it, you girls like that rugged manly sweat and blood."
He laughed warmly and held out a hand again. "Come now! Lead the way. Thankfully this juice will glue our hands together so I won't get lost in the harrowing pathways of the Villa. Your turn to be the gallant savior now." he said jokingly and paused.
"But, uh, I think we can skip the killing-someone-with-fruit part this time." he finished ruefully.

Feeling like a child, Delphi blushed and took hold of Galen's hand, wiggling her fingers a little as they started to fuse together. "I don't know my way around too well," she said shortly, starting towards the kitchen door, "but I heard about the existence of a garden outside. Gardens often have hoses or watering cans, and either would be more convenient than a hose."

"I don't think it's too cold outside.. I guess I picked a good day to smash peaches." Galen replied as he followed. "Despite my garden prowlings, I'm afraid I wasn't too observant.. so the quest for a hose will be mostly up to you."
He brushed absently at his hair with his free hand.. and winced as it instantly melded together.
"Oh dear."

"Oh- now look at you!" Delphi laughed, not mockingly, but as if sharing a joke. Her own hair had started to come loose from its usual knot at the back of her head, but she let it fall, afraid to get it too sticky. Besides, it wasn't a bad idea to let one's hair down every so often, literally in this case.
It didn't take long for the sound of running water to reach her ears, and she perked up as soon as she heard it. "See that," she pointed out in amusement, "not all snakes in the grass mean us harm. I hope." A long green garden hose lay coiled on the lawn. It was off, but a thin line of water trickled out anyway, just enough to wet one's hair.

The tips of Galen's ears reddened slightly. "I'm afraid it's a bad habit of mind, always messing with my hair. I should just use clips or something, I guess." he says ruefully, giving his hand a tug and wincing when it refuses to budge.
"Oh well. I suppose it can be a lovely, grand adventure!" He laughs, and then brightens as Delphi points out the hose.
"Have I told you lately how wonderful you are?" Galen said seriously but with a teasing light in his eyes. "Behold! Water!"
He stopped and tugged his hand free from Delphi and then gave another half-bow. "After you, my fellow lady-in-waiting!" he cried out with a flourish.
