Squishy Smiles, as her name suggests, loves to make others happy. She is a bubbly and silly mare who tries to amuse others with goofy antics and light-hearted humour. If someone seems to be feeling down, she will try her best to distract them, even if that can make her quite irritating at times. She doesn't really care if others get annoyed with her, either. If others aren't responding to her very well, she will go off to find some more interesting playmates. Squishy tends to be impatient, so if she wants something, she wants it then and there, not later. On top of that, she doesn't like waiting for others to come spend time with her. When her friends are busy, she won't offer to help them to speed up the day; instead, she will run off to find someone new to befriend. While she may be a good companion to have when one needs cheering up, she will not be there any other time. Squishy's reluctance to work, to take anything seriously, and to put anyone else's needs before hers has made her rather selfish and bossy at times. Despite her claims that she will do anything to make others happy, she has to want to make them happy in the first place.

Thorium is a brute of a demon. He is so simple-minded, his thoughts are often no more sophisticated than the thoughts of the weak, crawling creatures that he likes to prey on. He acts completely on impulse, which means that only his feelings in a moment will determine how he will behave. It's also impossible to reason with him, unless one has earned his fear or respect in some way. Thorium may respond to direct orders from the few he doesn't see as weak, but otherwise he acts completely oblivious to the speech of others. He could be mistaken for a mute horse, since his simplicity hasn't allowed him to learn to communicate like other horses. Most of his vocabulary consists of basic words and it is rare to hear him put together a full sentence. As compensation for his dull mind, Thorium has an extremely well-developed and unstoppable bloodlust that allows him to compete with even the cleverest of demons. Thorium's only want in life is to tear other living things apart and to bathe in their blood. He is so violent that absolutely nothing else matters to him, including his own safety.

Details
Pariah once had a true name and a herd, but both have been forgotten. When he was young, a harsh famine struck the herdlands and many horses died of starvation. In an act of desperation, the remaining herd members searched for someone to blame. Eventually they chose Pariah, a quiet, solitary, and misunderstood stallion who had just reached adulthood, as their target. They accused him of offending the gods, stripped him of his name, and cast him out to die.
To this day, Pariah resents his treatment. He took the name Pariah to solidify his status as an outcast and to embrace his role of a survivor despite everything he has suffered. While he tends to remain silent, if he sees something cruel or unfair happening in front of him, he will not hesitate to speak up. He will do all he can to intervene and to prevent others from being singled out because they happen to be seen as different. Pariah believes that everyone has the right to be themselves and to be understood, so he is kind to others as long as they seem to be good-hearted. He doesn't condemn others for their species or appearance, so he will even try to be friendly to a demon if they are not causing harm to anyone. But, as soon as someone shows hatred or intolerance, Pariah will no longer want their companionship unless they can change their ways.

Events in her past have made Brooke reluctant to share anything about her history. She came from a warrior herd far away that was feared for it's members' ruthlessness and cruelty. But, Brooke didn't fit in with them. She was too soft and kind to be a warrior despite a long ancestry of tough fighters, so she was enslaved and used as a target during training. It took Brooke many seasons to escape. She ran as fast and as long as she could, until she found and took refuge in the Cimarron herd.
Brooke still fears that she will be judged for the actions of her birth herd. She has traveled so far from them that she is no longer close to their circle of influence, but on her way to the Cimarron herd, she often ran into horses who immediately recognized her ancestry and condemned her without a second thought. If given the chance, she shows that she is kind and attentive, without a trace of a warrior's lust for battle. However, during her enslavement, she learned to fight back whenever she felt she was in danger, so she will still lash out if she feels cornered. Brooke tends to panic and her first reaction is to hurt others at the first sign of trouble, even though she actually hates causing pain.

Laurel may wear armor, but she is not a warrior. She is very small, even for a naturally light-boned winged horse. She stands at least a foot shorter than the average mare, so she is easily intimidated by other horses. Therefore, she prefers the company of smaller creatures over her own kind. Laurel has a particular fondness for deer, since she can relate to the thin, graceful ungulates. It isn't unusual to see her hanging about herds of deer, hoping to be assimilated into their numbers.
By nature, Laurel is very kind. She addresses others with a friendly smile even though she tends to be shy and fearful. She doesn't speak much unless it's to her small companions, since she has more confidence around other animals than she does alone or with other horses. The more confident she is, the more freely she acts. Otherwise, she's very restrained in her behaviour, and she doesn't even move unless she's absolutely sure that it is safe for her to do so. Laurel needs a lot of time and understanding by other horses before she will be truly comfortable in one's presence.

Naphthalene is the type of bad-tempered mare who wants to watch the world burn to ashes. She has no love for anything or anyone, including herself. At first this self-loathing may make her seem like a melancholy mare who just needs a friend, but anyone who tries to get close to her will quickly learn that she is too angry and hateful to be helped. The only thing that might make her smile is playing games. Naph thinks that if she can play her cards right, she can convince others that her hate of the world is merited. Nevertheless, Naph will settle with destroying someone's happy life instead. She is fond of toying with others and she will take any opportunity to do so. Naph is incapable of feeling guilt or pity, so trying to appeal to these feelings in order to show her that her actions are wrong will always end in failure. She will never feel anything but contempt for others, no matter how hard they may try to get her to see the good in things.

To Dorado, wealth and excitement mean everything. He is always seeking new adventures, especially those that involve treasure. Dorado adores the chase of artifacts and valuables, since he is hooked on the thrill of traveling the land and retrieving things that no other horse may have seen. He particularly likes collecting objects left behind by the two-legged strangers that most horses try to avoid. He is fascinated by the strangers' unique inventions and wishes that he understood how they worked.
Usually, Dorado acts fearlessly and takes on everything with a confident grin. The tougher things get, the more Dorado is driven to succeed. He enjoys bringing others along for the ride as well, since an extra pair of eyes and ears can be useful. He is friendly but egotistical, so he tries to appeal to others by bragging about his adventures. If anyone takes an interest in him, he will do everything he can to live up to their expectations, especially if the individual involved is a pretty young mare. While Dorado is not the type who would be dedicated to a single mate, he makes sure to respect and protect all females since he feels that it is the right thing to do.
