So, the Hall Of Monuments in EOTN is supposed to connect to GW2? Can someone explain this?

Yes.
The Achievements (Monuments) you get in there somehow translate over to GW2.
I think they've said in the form of special items, or something.

If I read right, it is the way to can transfer your characters name over. And titles. But to get titles over have to be very good titles. And I think Mini-Pets go too.

Your characters name is supposed to be reserved for you when you switch over to GW2 not sure about anything else.

basically just get in what you can before the gw 2 release i've recently started playing again alot to try and add stuff to my current collection

A lot relating to this is still a blur. Detailes are yet to be announced. Don't even know WHAT generally will be transferred. (Titles, sure-minipets?-armors?-weapons? )
Anyways, I hope accounts with lots of maxed titles don't get a big advantage over the others, I mean, I absolutely ADORE everything about the game(s) but I'm not someone to go entire days grinding for titles.
I've been playing Guild wars for 51 months or so, but I still don't have any title maxed....
Maybe cause I share an account with my little brother and sister --- dunno.. xp

Yeah, I got canthan, but I'm too lazy too work on any of the others. Busy doing War in Kryta now, cause I haven't been on in quite a while. Got a lot of catching op to do.. blaugh

They've announced (a while ago) how the hall of monuments will work!
By collecting miniatures; armor; titles and more, you will accumulate points that will earn you rewards in Guild Wars 2.
How does it work?
Well, just follow this url and fill in a name of one of your characters. Point will be counted account-wide so it doesn't matter which name you type in.
I'm at 18 point so far! heart

Basically, through completing certain tasks and getting certain achievements through the Hall of Monuments, you earn gear for your characters in GW2...i have very minimal achievements in Eye of the North, so I only have 2 pieces of gear unlocked for the new game (when it comes out).
Because you can only put elite armors and weapons in the Hall of Monuments, and only rare mini-pets count as achievements.
Same as a pet needs to be fully evolved before it can be on display. So it's no easy task.
